I've just read the whole thread with great interest. I haven't ordered from Elite Savings, nor had I ever heard of them until I read of customers' complaints here. One thing to bear in mind is that credit card chargebacks have a time limitation in which they can be carried out. It's either 90 or 180 days - if you don't claim a refund from them within this time, there's nothing they can do and you will have lost your money.

To the guy who wanted a cancellation email to send to them:

    Dear Elite Savings,

I recently placed an order for (item name here) on (date ordered here). Unfortunately, due to reading various reviews of your company online, I wish to exercise my rights under the Distance Selling Regulations to cancel my order with immediate effect. I do not expect you to retain 7.9% + 50p of the purchase price as if you attempt to do so I will have no hesitation in issuing a chargeback through my card issuer for the full amount along with reporting you and your company to the relevant authorities.

  • I think i mentioned in an earlier thread that i was taken to this site via Amazon whi i have complianed to but have had no response, funnily there is no easy way to find there contact point (no email available).

I have riased a complaint with the office of fair trading, again no response.

I have raised a complaint with Moneybookers the company they used to transfer the funds. Their response was to wait until 2nd Sept for any goods which we all know will not come.

No wonder people setup scam like this if there is no policing being done by these companies i.e. Amazon (who i will never use again and will tell them so, same goes for Moneybookers).

Where is the best place to report this Crime...it does not seem too obvious where to go...site keep referring to scams where you are contacted by a third party and not where you pay for goods that you never receive. This site shoud have been closed ASAP and as we can see people are still being caught out by it.

    Hi Ipadlover,

What amount they have deducted from you 7% or 20%?

    Thanks
  • They said they will keep 20% until they get the 'ipad back to the depot' which I know does not exist and in 3 weeks I will be given my other 20% back, so hopefully I get my full refund, but I highly doubt this.
  • just ordered from currys for £430

I too was tempted to buy from Elite about a month ago but did a lil research and found this site and have followed this forum since. Me being impatient, I bought mine from Currys on Tuesday @ £500, however, if you know anyone that works at the airport (like my sister does) then they can buy you one there, less the VAT!!
  • should of thought of that first, yep just like I couldn't wait for my Ipad and didn't do research on elite. thanks anyway and hope no one else fall into this trap, although if you type elite savings on google this forum is the first website you get which is good.
  • Hi I ordered an Ipad in Early July , I have heard all sorts of excuses why I have not received it , I beleive its a scam to stall you from claiming a refund within the 60-90 which you are protected by your credit card . If they do not deliver before this time is up then you should contact your credit card and get them to do a charge back otherwise after that period they will be able to charge you the cancellation fee . they are probably not breaking the law but are doing it delibratley and creamming a nice percentage off people who decide to cancel and not get a chargeback through your credit card , let alone the poor soles who have used debit cards , what a scam .
  • I think they made these excuses because they weren't really shipped to begin with and they were just waiting for orders to build up, renting a container costs a lot of money and it would be cheaper if they had just waited for orders to pile up. That said they were telling everyone beginning of August time for delivery meaning that they must have really shipped it now.
