  • Apparently, I'm useless - I should have known that in addition to chicken pieces, crisps, yoghurt and a drink, DD2 also expected a sandwich in her packed lunch. So I snapped back 'have a bl***y school dinner then and stop having a go at me'.

She's back from your KH then, he didn't convince her with £££££s?

Okay, I've done some flying today - kitchen done!!:D:D:D:starmod:

If I have a sudden burst of energy, I may do the living room. The sun's come out, so I may go to the allotment instead.

I've also decluttered DS2 to school for English exam - he wasn't at all happy about yesterday's Maths Higher, said there was loads that he couldn't do - sigh.

I've done the homework booklet for Year 8 - in a break from the textbook, I chose to do half on The World Cup, and half on holidays. I have so many resources for both, I could do half of next year's lessons as well...

Love and hugs, especially for toots, lady-liberty and diva.

Sorry - that's DD1, I did all the official stuff relating to her leaving home yesterday. DD2 was the one snapping at me this morning.

It's going to take a while for DD1 to realise that the money he is promising her is never going to materialise. They have already 'given' her her SM's old car - but not the money for a driving licence, driving lessons, theory test, tax, MOT or insurance, so it is just sitting rusting, like 2 other vehicles they CBA to get fixed.

But one of the last things she said to me last week was that they had told her she couldn't afford to go to university without their help, as I wasn't going to pay her fees. She seemed a little shocked then when I said, 'but you're on full EMA, you're an Aim Higher student - you are entitled to full fees and a maintenance grant, so you probably won't have to pay anything anyway and the Uni might even give you a bursary too - check it out when you're back at college'.

Realising just how manipulative and devious he is will take some time.

But in the meantime, I feel slightly guilty to say that doing the official notifications, telling all the places that she has left home, etc, was a little sad -

but at the same time, I actually feel a bit 'free-er', like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Sounds like a ticklish situation Jojo, you have my sympathy. It's so hard when you can't just give them the benefit of your hard won experience and have to let them find out for themselves...

I have finally wrestled Mount Washmore down to a couple of small foothills. Just Mount Ironmore and the putting away now:(. Shopping put away in nice clean cupboards and fridge. Going to have a minute before the school run.
