he wasn't the only one DD2 hated it - and yet her mates thought it was great - which made her feel worse!

DD1 said it was rather simple.. but that could have been just for my benefit.. she has another in the morning... And when the school rang with the waste of time 'reminder' this morning, I ignored both phones.. like I have nothing else to do in a morning.. stupid woman!

Everyone fed... Tiddles is doing her reading book with OH.. it is very sweet.. Moomin is lurkign because she wants OH too... I'll just sit here and be neglected!

cyclingyorkie/Serena - what is done is done. Often the kids who think they haven't done well surprise themselves and those who thought it was easy made a mistake. The one paper DS1 found the easiest was the one he got the worst mark on and resat. I was not impressed with the higher English Paper today - it was all based on tv and 2/3rd of it on Soap Operas. The foundation was on the Cutty Sark.

I've filled my tax return and yippee they owe me money so hope that appears very quickly. I've never done it online before so hope I've done it correct.

Time for a quick S&S and tidy up from dinner before I get DS3 ready for bed - oh I need to get bedding out for our bed and DS2's, I'll do that first.

Evening all! We've just returned from a lovely week away with my in-laws. We all had a great time and were very lucky with the weather. I've now returned and need to do some serious flying...so much washing, cleaning etc. Oh well! :D

I'm even going to go as far as doing a list!!!!!! Here goes:

Monday ~ Kitchen and dining room!
    Clean the oven and hob
    Wipe the units and appliances
    Scrub the sink and tiles

Tuesday ~ Living Room, Hall and Stairs
    Dusting, even if around everything
Clean mirrors and other glass things that are meant to be shiny!

Wipe paintworks and any grubby marks off walls etc
Clean any fluffy electricals and defluff behind the radiators!
    Clean light shades/fittings and lamps
    Clean a window or two.

Still quite a lot to do but getting there. Think I'll do a hhc whilst I'm waiting for the shopping to arrive (notice I've booked it for earlier this week!).

Massive hugs to you all but special big hugs for LL and tootles xxxxxxx

Dusty.. we had huge problems with coursework which was all based on soap operas and tv stuff... we don't have a tv so DD1 has never had access to such tripe.. and when I complained about it to the school they gave her different work to do. I do think it is completely stupid basing exams on tv junk.. though when they had to write a webpage 'advertising themselves' and do a video for a dating agency I went ballistic!!! 14 years of age and having to sell themselves like they were prostitutes.. at a rather strict catholic school.. that call went straight to the lea, the governors and the school.. the teacher didn't like me very much after that.. but apparently I was not the only one that complained! They witter on about teenage pregnancy rates then make the children sexualise themselves.. they did it like a fabebook homepage set up after that rather than a dating agency.

I agree - fits with my own experiences up to my post grad professional qualifications. and my super intelligent older brother who is straight A's all the way (and made his first million before he was 30, git) came out of his A Levels saying he had made a mess.......

Busy, busy, busy. Lovely DH is cracking on with the bathroom and is not giving into watch moronic tv, read books and do nothing which is great.

WM and TD on, DW on, kitchen S&S'd. Stuff set out for the morning. Greenhouse watered. No hope for anything else much before Saturday

ETA Lil me- good to see you. I am tempted to get an ipad for DH but he has an i phone and a net book so not sure what we would gain other than cheering him up and reducing the pay the morgage when the redundancy runs out savings.
