cyclingyorkie/Serena - what is done is done. Often the kids who think they haven't done well surprise themselves and those who thought it was easy made a mistake. The one paper DS1 found the easiest was the one he got the worst mark on and resat. I was not impressed with the higher English Paper today - it was all based on tv and 2/3rd of it on Soap Operas. The foundation was on the Cutty Sark.
:eek: seriously?! soap operas? I think mine was on war poetry and Shakespeare!

I agree - fits with my own experiences up to my post grad professional qualifications. and my super intelligent older brother who is straight A's all the way (and made his first million before he was 30, git) came out of his A Levels saying he had made a mess.......
definitely true for me too. Remember v clearly sitting outside a pub with 2 friends after one finals paper and thinking I'd clearly messed it up...in the end I got a first on it and they didn't ;):D

sorry, flying reference...I tidied the freezer earlier (had to to fit the shopping in). Wiped over the hob and S&S'd bathroom too. Some leftover HM soup needs to be portioned up before bed.

DH says he will put the cot up tomorrow...it's a bit more orangey pine than I would've chosen but perfectly great condition and the baby won't know that! And it was free and is not going in landfill..has only been used for a couple of years by friends little boy, he is so pleased our baby is having it!

Hope everyone is well this (rainy) evening!

Got home to a poorly cat :( so off to the vets again tomorrow - only took him Friday before last!

I have failed almost completely today in doing any tasks at all - just done a bit of pottering! I did think though, I might try and take tomorrow off work, as I have to take the cat to the vets anyway! Then I can catch up (and revise for my exam a week tomorrow!!!).

Getting everything ready for a new baby - isn't it exciting?

Rach that baby has got what it needs - a mum and dad who will love and care and who want this baby very much.

You don't show how much you love/care by spending money IMHO...

My pram did all my mum's 6 Grandchildren - and if my sis hadn't passed stuff to me for Ds I couldn't have given it back to her when she unexpectedly needed it for her youngest DD - then it came back here again ;)

she got the baby bath s/h off a relative, it did that 1 baby, her four, my two then went to my cousin for her 2...

The English Lit ones still is thankfully but not the language one. The second paper is on Thursday and at least one question will be on the book they have read (Things Fall Apart).

I remember the excitement of a first baby. I had my SiL's cot for all 3 of mine (it was made by SiL first child's godfather) and then she needed it back when she had another babe 12 years after her first. I then borrowed a friend's cot as DS3 was only a year.

I'm tired now so think I'll call it a night. Not working until the afternoon session tomorrow so hope to get some flying doen in the morning - night all.

Thanks, it is exciting...I am trying not to get absolutely everything so we can get some stuff later but I like to be organised :D A friend I've not heard from for ages texted today and said 'how are you? all prepared and researched i expect' lol...knows me well!!

I just love the fact that my friends bought this for their (adopted) son and how loved and wanted he is...and the fact that when I'd told him i was pregnant he said 'the baby will need a cot won't it mummy' and his mum said, 'yes...do you think it would be ok for the baby to have your old cot', and he just grinned! :A

Almost everything we have is preloved, there will be a new mattress, pushchair and carseat, plus some clothes and bedding - but that's about it! :D and it's not really about the money as in we do have some money, but it's about not entering into the whole 'we need x, y & z'

some of you will remember my wedding was a similar challenge!!
