You will get nuisance calls when you are pregnant...

And while you are in labour/delivering...or maybe that's just my lot? Despite being told not to bother the delivery unit my in-laws (well, MIL actually) continually phoned the unit for updates. She passed the information onto the rest of the family....who didn't really want to know at 2am....

    Can't people just behave themselves?!

Seriously considering recording an answerphone msg along the lines of 'SHE'S NOT HAD IT YET and if she wants you to know you will be told when it is convenient' :rotfl:
My ex MIL phoned me at home at 7am after i had given birth to DD and come home from hospital at 3.30 am. I SO wanted to tell her to F off!

My Mum has come up to 'help out' and i am sure if she weren't here i wold have given birth already. Oh hindsight is a wonderful thing but I wish i'd have said 'wait until I have HAD the baby

pregnancy horror story - yep, had hyperemesis for 26 weeks (bad morning sickness) basically all day sickness all night sickness, couldnt eat couldnt drink couldnt sleep. Hospitalized for 1 week on a drip. was awful. then when got over sickness my blood pressure was up, got put on tablets which made me kinda woozy and have vague hallucinations. throughout pregnancy hips were agonizing, couldn sleep on back cos of heart burn couldnt sleep on stomch cos of bump couldnt sleep on sides cos of hips. Didnt have a nights sleep for about the last 4 months of pregnancy. And of course now I have my lovely little 18 week old bundle, I'm still getting no sleep!

But you know its all worth it.

When i went in to have him a doctor was taking my history and she asked if i'd had any problems in pregnancy. I said "nope its been grand" My husband was standing open mouthed. So you see you forget it all. Its natures little way of tricking us into having more!!

Poor you :( Mine lasted from week 5 to 10. I'm 15 weeks now and only have it occasionally now.

But just adding to that, no one told me pregnancy sickness is the worst kind of sickness in the world :p
  • I have been a 'viewer' on these forums for quite a while but have only today begun posting, i have never seen this part of the forum before, i was just wondering (i'm sure somewhere along these 49 pages i will find my answer when i start looking) if anybody suffered from a PPH (Post-Partum Haemorrhage) and has gone on to have another child?

I was ill all throughout my pregnancy and was in and out of hospital with very high blood pressure, at 38 weeks they decided i had pre-eclampsia and they had to induce me straight away. I had my daughter after about 8 hours, natural birth but i did have an episiotomy, after about 30 mins i felt very sick and dizzy and actually passed out, i didn't actually find out that i had had a pph for the rest of the day until in the evening when they told me i needed a transfusion because i lost a lot of blood.

My husband was obviously scared watching me so ill without knowing what was happening and even though we both do want to have another baby we just don't know if it will happen again? My Gp says i would need to be seen weekly or fortnightly from the start rather than monthly and i would need to be seeing a consultant and a midwife regularly but this was mainly because i do suffer from high BP, I am currently on labetalol to control this.

I'm not sure if this is connected but i had one very swollen ankle whilst pregnant and was put on daily tinzaparin injections to thin my blood with a suspected DVT but they didn't do a scan for 4 weeks on my ankle, when they did it was ok nothing wrong, but by that time it was the day before i gave birth and had been taking these clot busting injections daily for 4 weeks, could this have been the cause of the bleed? I also have PCOS and fibroids. Sorry for the long winded post ladies, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had it the whole bloody way through - miserable, isn't it!

Glad to hear it - my mother kept telling me (having had 4) "it'll go by 12 weeks!" And it didn't.

I lost weight during pregnancy - I could hardly eat anything, and the smell of cooking was the worst thing.

If you have food poisoning etc, you throw up - and then feel better. With pg sickness, you throw up, feel sick still, throw up, sulk....
