  • I think multiple pregnancies can put pressure on your teeth - maybe calcium shortage?

I'd heard this too about calcium. Do you mean multiples as in twins/triplets or just having more than one baby? ;) I'm having twins so I might need to up my calcium dosage if they are stealing it all from me :rotfl:
  • I meant having several pregnancies - but might we wise to keep calcium levels high with twins? I think broccoli has lots of it.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.
  • Didn't know about Broccoli, thanks :)
  • I'm laughing like a drain at some of these!!

For my tuppence? Nobody EVER warned me that I'd be able to fart on a par with my husband, in sound and smell, thanks to my little hitchhiker.

Constipation is not as funny as it sounds. You will also get used to shouting to your best beloved, "SERIOUSLY, you need to see the size of this. I don't think it'll flush away!"

Mrs Kelly - I'm sure the blood-thinning drugs you were on played a huge part in the fact you had a PPH. But, it will have been noted on your file if you decide to have another baby and directly after delivery of the placenta, you will probably be given another injection. This makes the uterus contract and should control pp bleeding.

I had a PPH after my 1st and needed 3 units transfused, but had twins 4 years later with the jab and no bleed.

A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

Thanks, a lot of people have said they have gone on to have no problems the next time around, i think possibly my bleed could have been stopped earlier than it was if the Doctor had taken me seriously when i told her something was wrong, she just ignored me, i may have been a new mum that had never given birth before but i knew that i was going to pass out after being sick and nearly dropped my baby, only when i did pass out did the Doctor do anything to help me

Wow, this thread is still going?! Sure I posted on it a long time ago.

Anyway, for those terrified of giving birth and want a c-section, I am terrified of being in hospital and needing a c-section. Hence the reason why my last two have been born at home. The very thought of having to have an epidural or being put to sleep - no way.

Anyway stories...well there are those that mention pooing at the point of delivery - with my DS2, I pooed the whole way through and I mean pooed and I didn't care at all. Funny enough my m/w didn't ask me if I had had a bowel movement on my post-natal check.

Also they don't tell you third labours do not follow the text book or what you have been through before. Imagine how embarrassed I was calling in a m/w to be told that I wasn't in labour. Could see her checking my notes just to confirm that I had given birth a couple of times previously!

Still I woud do it all again..

Well i had a VERY quick labour on 2nd Oct, baby no. 4 came after 1 hr 40 mins of labour, although it was more like a few contractions then i was suddenly fully dilated and ready to push:eek:
SO whatever they tell you about plans, no plan in the world would have prepared any of us for that, and the 'constant monitoring' i was supposed to have cos of my medical history just didn't happen - there was not time :rotfl:
i am glad i did NOT have a birth plan cos i would not have been able to follow it AT ALL. The poor midwife - she was surprised too i think, and had to write notes on whatever was available, paper towels and odd bits of paper. There was even someone mopping the floor when i got into the delivery room cos i had not given them time to clean it beforehand LOL
