must be as my lot are 7,6,3,8 months and cooking at 24 weeks!
Wow, you must be worn out what with baking number 5 and four young children
I think i will need a month asleep before i think about baby number two although i would like three eventually! I love my gorgeous little girl0 -
gave birth to my second 3 eeks ago and i swear i was till shocked at what happened.
went naturally this time rather than being induced and then wished id been induced as at least i was numbed to the pain. this time it hurt like hell i screamed like a big girls blouse, very embarrising. then beggged for a pethidine and told the midwife she didnt understand why i was screaming and i really needed a pethidine now!!!!
after pethidine got onto the bed to push and (after holding in a fart all night as i didnt dare fart in fornt of the midwife) heard this awefull gurgling noise from down below. i was so shocked when i realised i was farting then midwife says dont worry about it we expect that you wouldnt be pushing right if you didnt. im like what??? and husband informed me id pood in the middle of pushing. oh the shame
also no one tells you that gas and air make things come alive and suddenly the picture of the lady cheering after having her baby is very annoying. you even ask how she can cheer when shes a drawing and hasnt really done it lolo.
gas and air really make you do and say the most stupid things lol.back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0 -
oh and when a retained placenta falls out after 3 days it really is the scariest thing ever and the infection after hurts so muchback to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0

I wish someone would of told me how annoying it is being told "im sorry, your too far gone for pain relief your jut going to have to do it like they did in the olden days" only to hear the cow in the next room shouting "it huurtttttttttttts gimme more druuggggggggsssssssssssss" right before you have to start pushing.
upside, i was on the ward before she had even given birth - i didnt know the drugs slowed labour down0 -

Also, that you will spend all your time glancing down at them to see they're still breathing and that you'll poke them if they seem too quiet.
I remember that - waiting and begging him to sleep, then poking him to make sure he was OK....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Hyperemesis gravidum (severe sickness all the way through) is pretty rare. A lot of women feel queasy the first 12 weeks or so, that's a lot more normal. My mother was only actually sick once with 4 of us....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I have spent the last couple of weeks reading through this thread. I only discovered it after having No.3. My DD is 13, DS is 12 so No.3 (another boy) was a complete surprise.
Pregnancy was straightforward enough - a bit tired and difficulty brushing my teeth but that is all.
I took spatone (iron supplement) which did help - I also found it helped keep me regular if you follow my drift.
I also took raspberry leaf capsules from 36 weeks on. I thought this one might be early - but ended up 10 days late at the end of it all!
My waters went at the end of the church service with a gush, which was quite funny. DS nearly passed out and I had to send OH for a mop!
Went to the hospital and everything stopped. Had spates of contractions but nothing to write home about. OH was sent home later that evening. Began having serious contractions during the night, but m/w said they were only tightenings because they weren't that regular - to breathe through it and imagine I am floating on green water. (GREEN???)She gave me two paracetamol. I tried this and guess what - it didn't help.
I buzzed again and got a different m/w who examined me. She said I was 5/6cm dilated - phoned OH to come in and went to fetch a wheelchair to transfer me to the delivery suite. During this time things went up a few gears. I thought I might deliver there and then! The m/w decided that it would be better just to take me on the bed - we collected another m/w on the way. The m/w gave me the entenox straight away which was a great help. DS was born a couple of minutes later. It was so quick that the second m/w introduced herself on the way out!!!
It was so quick that OH made it to the hospital a couple of minutes after DS arrived. He is a healthy 9lb 4oz. I am now able to walk without looking like a gorilla. Boobs are returning to normal as he is now on the bottle. I couldn't keep up with 7/8 4oz feeds a day - the m/w's were great. I haven't once felt like I was being graded in an exam or that I was getting it wrong. They have supported all the decisions which is great.
We are currently suffering from sleep deprivation as babs wants to feed every 2 1/2 hours overnight, but can manage 4 hours during the day.
I have loved reading this thread - it has made me lol so many times. To everyone who is thinking of having children - this thread shouldn't scare you - everyone who is TTC through to having had children has been on a journey that is specific to you. Because it has happened to someone else, doesn't mean to say that is how it will be for you. It is better to know what can happen so nothing comes as a shock.First Direct Loan @ 7.9% £13,076.03/£20,250
