Don't worry. I've found the first 24 years are the worst :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Very best of luck dougggie. It'll be the best thing you EVER do.
You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.
Oi you lot - pleaseGIVE BLOOD

That delivering the placenta isn't always the easy bit.
Mine refused to come away, so after a fairly fast birth with just gas and air that I was feeling very smug about, I ended up having an epidural and catheter and spending an hour in theatre having it 'manually removed'.
And there was a very badly positioned shiny steel light fitting right above me that gave a full on reflected image of what was going on and I couldn't help but watch..shudder.
Not to mention having to leave the baby to have the procedure an hour after he was born , that was awful.
- and some midwives treat first timers like children.
I was informed I wasn't actually in labour when I arrived at hospital, and they refused to do an internal as my birth plan stated no unneccesary internals.
I could have killed the woman, I remeber thinking if this isn't actual labour then I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow and requesting an elective caesarian, lol.
It turned out as the contactions were in my back the monitor wasn't picking them up, and two hours after I was almost sent home ''not in labour'' we were holding our baby boy.
The same midwife threatened me after only five minutes of pushing too, with my first bloody baby! something along the lines of 'this is no good, do it properly or I'll bring the doctor who will cut you and get the baby out with forceps' . It did work though, he was out with two more pushes, lol.
Next time I want a homebirth and an independent midwife!Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
Oh and no one told me just how essential it is to do pelvic floor exercises, if you are pregnant get squeezing now, you will thank me for it later! lol
and re- the bad hospital food post labour, I was also just given toast, but , pizza hut will deliver to hospitals! I was most happy to discover that, lol.Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -

I'm still going to get my coil out next week mind you. Weird, after hundreds of years (seems like) of me saying I never wanted kids and having a phobia about the whole thing, about 2 weeks ago my body clock kicked in cos I'm 40 in a few months. Dreading most of it, but it appears to be worthwhile at the end
Anyone know where you can take 'em back for refunds if it doesn't work out though?!
er its not actually exchange FOR a puppy, i think youll find once child gets older the puppy is IN ADDITION to the child....... so dont be caught up in it... nope nope nope.... be ready.. its not just puppies, itd any small creature.. cos they will say i PROMISE to look after it i will clean up after it, i will help pay for food etc etc etc THEY ARE LYING!!!! DO NOT BELEIVE THEM .... MOVE AWAY FROM THE PET SHOP ... DO NOT GO INTO THE PETSHOP....

Ladies, ladies, ladies!
Someone should say something good about pregnancy and childbirth. NO? OK so I will...
I have 3 kids, the first weighted 6lb 9oz, the second 10lb 13oz, and the third 10lb 4oz...need I say more. For first time mums I would say know what you want, and demand that midwives stick with it - bar serious complications that is!
No-one told me how much it would STING when you did your first wee! Yikes! Wee in the bath if you can.
When they said eat lots of fiber, I should have listened!
Same when they said do lots of pelvic floor exercises! DO THEM girls! After big babes I am now doing physio to try and prevent the under carriage from collapsing every time I sneeze! Do you want to wear disposable knickers for the rest of your days?
I must say though that I had a home birth for the biggest baby...I chose this option, and it was wonderful. Two older midwives attended and left me to it. They said "just listen to your body"...and I did.
Does hubby (partner/boyfriend) really have to be in the room? I think not. It is hard to think of yourself as a sexy woman again after they have seen you grunting like a hogHubby came in after and cut the cord in the home birth, and brought me a cup of tea...bless. Down with womans lib and mens rights I say!!:rotfl:
As for long labour...not always. All mine were born within the space of an hour from beginning of contractions to delivery, on gas and air. I think if you stress less it goes quicker. I found that in all cases if I just tuned out everyone else, and did what I felt was right, then it usually was.
Must say though...during pregnancy I did not GLOW...I suffered morning sickness all three times for about 5 months each. Ginger....aaaaahhhhhhh run away!!!!:eek:0 -

The HSA told me she wore paper knickers when she goes on holiday, she didn't elaborate this was for a strange sexual fetish or anything else............Oh....I'm not going to lie to you......At the end of the day, when alls said and done......do you know what I mean.........TIDY0

Quick update on ex's gf. She' still in intensive care and not doing very well. She's now saying that she's had enough - when she comes round from the morphne, that is. She doesn't even talk about the new baby or want to talk about him now. Ex hasn't rung littlie for about 2 days now though which is very unususal as he usually rings every night before bed so I may ring him tomorrow to see how everything is. I think everyone is just praying for a miracle now though. Also found out that hospital(Walsgrave) sent her home 3 times, saying she would get better at home, knowing she had a massive infection and the wound wasn't stitched, just dressed!!!
She was complaining - well screaming, about the pain in her abdomen and it wasn't until her bowel exploded right under the consultants hands that they took her seriously!!
It definitely ain't all storks and frilly cots!!!Noli nothis permittere te terere
