Well, one year after MY LAST BABY EVER EVER EVER...this thread has brought back soooo many memories and reminded me why I am sticking at 2 little angels...Angels take a lot of hard work and effort to make... Had 2 emergeny C-sections, one for breach, one for big baby..probably the most shocking (and most funny thing at the same time) was having the doctor pull with so much force with the ventouse (suction cap thingy) that he fell off his chair with legs flailing in the air at the bottom of the bed...and still no baby! At this point - I gave up, fell in love with the aneasthestist while hubby was stood next to me (he was gorgeous and I was very high on pethadine!) and had another section! Still got piles a year later...but hey...could be worse...
My angels are truely the best thing that has happened to me...worth every second of pain and PND....

Having been pregnant a fair few times myself and each pregnancy was different as each child was, the things that i discovered throughout my pregnancies are as follows.

Labour number one. Why wasnt i told that labour would hurt? I think i must have blanked that bit in the book. Also, dont beleive the nurses when they tell you you can be like this for hours....... half an hour later i have a baby in my arms. I think the best guide to knowing how far you are, is when they shut the window in the delivery room (ok i had spring/summer babies) and when you feel like your going to die and dont care.

Pregnancy number two. How can picked onions and ice cream taste so good together.

Pregnancy number three. Do not beleive the midwives when they say your having a small baby - when your used to 6lb babies, a 8 and a half baby is a bit of a shock to the nether regions.

Pregnancy number four. How could a baby turn cartwheels in my stomach and me not feel it?

Pregnancy number five. You would have thought i would have experienced Braxton Hicks contactions before wouldnt you? I spent a lot of my pregnancy in hospital, the contractions were so strong they thought he was coming a month early.

Pregnancy number six. Orgasms. I was totally freaked out by this...... pity MrJudi didnt find my pregnant body a turn on, we could have been at it all night.

Oh and stretchmarks - lets not go there shall we?

They don't tell you in a book that talking about the impending birth is all you can talk about....I am actually the worlds biggest baby bore!!!

Picture the scene - maternity ward with a dozen pregnant women dotted around with their visitors. The peace is disturbed by screams from the end bed and a few moments later a trolley appears with woman on hands and knees, covered by a blanket, closely followed by a midwife whose hand is disappearing inside the blanket:eek: . The woman had had a prolapsed cord and the midwife was trying to stop the baby's head from pressing down on the cord. It wasn't me - I was one of the other pregnant women, that night everyone's blood pressure had skyrocketed:rotfl: .
