ISOM - oh dear! Your mum sounds like a real character but it sounds like you need to mark your toothbrush to make it easy to identify! Yes, I'm sad about Louis but, like you, I imagine him somewhere where he's being spoilt rotten with steak instead of supermarket brand tinned food! Mind you, he must be missing my spag bol!

    Have a good evening everyone!

Only two more sleeps left - yippee!

ISOM your Mum sounds great, love the tale of the needles. Hope she stays well. However much you love them it's so nice to have break from the responsibility isn't it.

mioliere it's very sad that Louis hasn't come home, I always think it's better to know rather than let your imagination take over, and the most likely thing is that he got lost and has been taken in by another kind person. Have fun packing.

Morning ladies - first on for me whoooppeeee!

chalky - glad you had a nice break - I think there is nothing better than a good clear up to make you feel better - bit of music on as well xxxx

linedancerann - good lord such lovely totals - well done xxx

isom - oh dear - Im sorry but you had me chuckling again - my MIL is a bit like that just does not think :D - hope work is ok this week xxx

Talking of MIL (get the garlic out ! - no I didnt mean it really anyway Ive said that to her face and she just laughs) - Ive been knitting for you now for coming up two years and she still doesnt get it - as you know getting out and about is not my strong point so she says she will look for wool for me which is kind of her - after my dear ex-neighbour sent me some wool on Saturday I told her where she had got it from and she says "oh yes but there are no colours that are any good for you - you wont want baby colours or pink" -:rotfl::rotfl: head, bang and brick wall really! - Ive told her when she asks I will have anything there is always something I can do with it - she is lovely really and without her funny ways the world would be a duller place - FIL and I blame her tablets but ......................

If FIL is on the phone she is always talking in the background which annoys FIL immensley so I have now nick-named her Rod Hull as she has her
yes you guessed it and talks for him :rotfl::rotfl:

    Am i a mean evil DIL ?????????

anyway Im in the mood for some clearing up - already wiped the windows inside and out downstairs got DS off to school and washed up, load of washing just waiting to peg out phew - onwards and upwards

Have a lovely day all - love Jaqui xxxx

PS Sock knitter - if you are lurking hope you are ok? xxxx

  • morning all, have just read all the posts, what a lot there was while i was away. big hugs to all who are poorly, recovering, looking after loved ones, missing loved ones, and everybody else who needs a hug.
holiday was a lovely break, and we had lovely sunny weather, kids was a pain in the backside tho lol, and this was the reason bf decided to end it. obviously i was upset at first, but have decided its his loss not mine.
went to lidl at half nine monday morning and somebody had beat me, and bought all the wool:eek:, so i didnt get any :(
saturday morning back home, we was woken by the police, who arrested daniel for breach of bail, poor kid was frightened as he had done nothing wrong, it was the police's mistake, but he still had to attend remand court, luckily he had a solicitor who sorted it with the magistrate fairly quickly, no apologies from the police tho, it was their mistake.
found out that my keyboard didnt like coffee after spilling a cupful on it yesterday, so had to rush out and get new one today to catch up with you all.
    kids back at school today:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T
mrs twins thankyou for the card
hope everyone has a lovely day
    love shaz xxx
loves to knit and crochet for others

SK, what an awful shock for you and Daniel, im so glad it was sorted out quickly.

PippaS tahnk you so much for the paperbacks, i finally got organised enough to post the ones id promised you.

DH and youngest DS decided on a 3 hour kite flying lesson each on sunday, i went along and sat in the car with some kntting, finally decided to make a start on christmas and am cabling a top (not sure who for yet) but it was so complicated that it took me the whole 3 hours to do 14 rows of the intricate cable panel that appears on the yoke of the front and back, its a simply knitting pattern from sept 09.

sending hugs to all and hoping you are well and life is kind and gentle

    Hi everyone.

Chalky - we're getting there, slowly but surely! I used my tumble drier for the first time in ages today, just to get last minute bits dry for taking away, and it kept going off. In the end, DH investigated and the plug had blown and burnt. It's one of the only things left that we haven't changed the plugs from UK to continental on - needless to say, it's what he's doing right now! Luckily, I never leave the drier on while we are out or overnight when we are asleep (ever since I heard that someone's had caught fire because the fluff filter hadn't been cleaned out!), but DH reckons it could have caused a major fire the way the plug had welded to the adaptor.

Anyway, drama over. WE've done our last bits of shopping - my next shop will be in the UK! Can't wait! We've also filled the car up with petrol which should see us all the way to the UK before it needs filling again. Just have to check we have euros for the peages and coffees on the way. We take a packed lunch because it's a four to five hour journey. Britanny Ferries have texted and emailed us this morning to say that there is a national strike on in France tomorrow, so we should allow extra time for our journey because there may be traffic problems, so I need to warn our friends who will be waiting for us that we may be late if we miss the boat and have to wait for the next one! That would be just our luck!

Jean - thank you so much for doing the update spready. You truly are an angel. I'm glad your back to seeing things in stereo again; that must have been a frightening experience.

Shaz - sounds like you needed the break but I'm so sorry to hear it didn't work out the BF. I would have expected the police to at least apologise to you and Daniel for such a scare. I hope you have a peaceful week.

F1widow - you can be forgiven for saying that about your MIL! I hope that one day she gets the point about the wool!

Mrs MOneypenny - hope life is treating you well.

Kinsey - I tell myself that Louis has been taken in by a kindly little old lady who feeds him fresh salmon every day!

Well, I'd better get on with some more packing, I suppose!

I'll pop in again before we leave tomorrow.

    Also p***ing down in Cardiff!

Not able to go to knitting club today so will have to hand over animal blankets some other time, ISOM, when hopefully you will have recovered from shock of Mum using your toothbrush! Illogical but still eewew!

Hope Daniel calms down a bit now he's back at school, Sock-knitter, horrid experience for you all with the bail error though.

Must get back to Christmas jumpers soon, but at the moment still playing with crochet squares for charity. Also, need to find Innocent Smoothie bag from last year as it has the hat bobbles in it!

Mioliere: hope the strike doesn't affect your journey tomorrow.
