"Mad woman is being transferred to friends car at reading services and she will be there for a week so I can relax a bit!"
I've missed something - who does this refer to???!!!
Glad you had a fun day ISOM and that Mum didn't add heart attack to her list of illnesses when she saw what she'd been charged for a toothbrush!
So sorry to hear of your problems with the bank f1widow - if only one could advise you of a fantastic and caring alternative, but sadly they are all pretty much as bad as each other. What I hate is when they totally mess up., cost you time and money and then say "it's to protect you from identity fraud" a phrase which seems to taking over from "computer error" as a catch all excuse/explanation which actually tells you nothing but which the speaker seems to regard as an adequate substitute for action/an apology/an explanation!0 -
ISOM - am particularly worried (and very amused I must say :rotfl:) at your last post - "oops it says it have a virus" and mum being put in friends car - did the shopping trip do something to you or have you had too much falling down juice ....... ha ha - anyway was the part of the eviction notice correct about the allotment - such a shame (unless you want it to be so) - I thought you and Mum were enjoying it so as well - dont tell me council want the land back .....
seakay - absolute poetry your last paragraph and completely correct - Ive toyed with the idea of putting a post on the Banking Forum on here but the last time i strayed from this forum I had my head bitten off  - as poor chalky found out as well x
psso - elaine I must apologise I forgot to say in my last post I am glad that DS is home - but sympathise with you having to look after "male" person - I hope his grumps are not taken out on Mum too much - and after you have been so dreadfully understandably worried about him - love to you and him and hoping for a speedy recovery (and not too much running around for you) - oh how is the little one these days - I should think he is growing at an alarming rate xxx
roamin - ouch that sounds sore - take care of yourself and I do hope the surprise was for you xxx
kathy - three more sleeps - oooooooooo - the food sounded lovely - and if you can get into a Poundstretcher whilst you are here the wool sounds lovely (and looks lovely from the pack I received today) - do you have two empty suitacases with you for bringing the food and wool back ?????
I remember someone told me they knew someone who had relatives in Ireland and they had to take coffee and flavoured crisps as neither were that nice or unavailable (there were other things but I cant remember just the coffee and crisps sticks in my mind) - (also and she whispers as Im not sure for what reason but copies of Coranation street recorded - I do not know why they dont get corrie in ireland or for what reason the recordings were kept hush)
hush)
Anyway I had better be awa - kitchen needs scraping down - Love to all
By the way has anyone seen the news about the Inland Revenue asking some people for money and giving some back to others - and we have to wait to find out over the next few months - I just know knowing our luck we will be one family who have to pay some back .........................Debt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -
arrrrrrrrrgggghhhhhhh I have just had a terrible thought - Mrs Twins am I meant to leave you a length for sewing up? I have been sewing in the ends on the squares and making them finished IYSWIM.

morning!
Sorry was a rushed post so will clarify!! Mum is going to stay with a friend for a week so we are meeting in the middle which is reading services and i will then come home and they will go on to Guildford! Virus was computer virus which some numpty inserted via facebook message that they sent to all my friends...thankfully most people seem to have virus check and Ive put a note on my account, changed passwords etc. think Miol had the same a couple of weeks ago!
Only two more sleeps to go miol!
F1 re the banking I can recommend both first direct and co-op for banking! Ive had my FD account for years and if it hadnt been that I had a loan with them and was worried about being linked if I lost my job so transferred to co-op. FD would be my first choice though - never had a problem with them despite having an account with them for 20yrs!
hope you all have a lovely relaxed day! Psso hope the patient is well behaved and not too much of a grump! Roaming what was the surprise?! Chalky hope youre settling after the emotional rollercoaster of the last couple of weeks! Hello to the lurkers and those feeling too belugh to post; big hugs!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -

ISOM - cor you have a load of running around to do - hope it goes smoothly for you
F1 perhaps the Irish people lived in the south....not meant to get the UK programmes. As for the coffee and crisps - not a clue, perhaps the folk they were visiting had asked for them instead of asking for money for their keep when they got there...I know it happens here, huge lists of stuff sent to so called friends who are just popping over for a weekend, they roll up and eat and drink folk out of house and home and then say "oh when you're in the UK we will have you to stay" when visiting the UK off course they haven't time, room or anything else. This by the way isn't me, but I read it often on some of the ex pat forums where some people are really struggling without jobs in a foreign land with no prospect of work.....times are tough everywhere.
Chalky - hope you're managing to make it through each day - even as the tears are tripping down your cheeks - it does make it hard to crochet tho'
PSSO - hope DS is still grumpy - shows he is most certainly on the mend
I still look a bit like Quasimodo this morning, have got some eye drops and eye wash from the pharmacy - he did say it wasn't the eye that was the problem its the top lid but then obviously wasn't going to let me out of the shop on a Sunday morning without having to pay something....It certainly doesn't hurt just looks swollen and unattractive but hey I have a plan BIG BROWN PAPER BAG - what do you think?
the surprise was for me and he is a love - well sometimes eh - an electric foot spa with loads of pots of stuff to plonk in it and soak the tootsies. We have a "farty" spa bath but by the time you fill it up to cover all the blow holes the notion has sort of worn off. I am not ungrateful believe me I am a happy bunny, so soaking of tootsies will commence later on today. Well I intend to wind hanks of wool into balls today, don't really need two eyes for that job,I have the body shop eye mask in the fridge for now and will haul it out shortly. I never knew that perspective with one eye nearly closed is, difficult to say the least. Off for a coffee, cuddles and love sent to everybody, lurkers, lovers - yep they are on here too!
Two sleeps Kathy then away to the UK - hope you have a great trip
Jean

Hello to one and all---- We have just returned from our friend in Hemel Hempstead. She was a wonderful distraction especially as she has the most adorable Grand Daughter!
Thank you all once again for all the kind wishes. We keep telling ourselves we are fine and id is soooo much better now its a few days on. BUT to come back into the house and see all the bits and pieces of her departure, Good Luck Cards, trainers etc etc was a bit emotional. Tomorrow I am going to undertake my usual cure and do some serious sorting and banging the hoover about!!!!!
Well what a lot of news on the thread.
kATHY I am sure you can't wait --- Have the happiest of trips with lots of acuddling and celebrating and of course wool buying!!
PSSO -- Lots of love to you as your son recovers from his op.
ISOM Hope Mum enjoys her trip.
Don -- The days are ticking away! What wonderful news -- We are nearly aunties again!

F1 -- tHE SAME GOOD WISHES FOR YOUR ds

Tootifrooti,Seakay,Mrs M, Mrs Twins, Kinsey, Purple Teddy Bear. Pam and anyway I have forgotten due to brain being made of mush a big hello.
Lots of gentle thoughts to all those struggling and love to all xTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Hi everyone
Chalky - I hope you can get settled into something of a routine now that you are back at home, although it must be difficult. Just look forward to each time you hear from her, and when she is starting to plan her journey back home. It's lovely that you could spend some time with friends before coming back.
Jean - hope the eye is a lot better today. The pharmarcies do like you to spend your hard-earned cash on their premises, don't they? Hope the feet are enjoying their surprise!
F1widow - we always stock up on the things we miss that we can't get here; at least two huge bags full of stuff, but it's horrid when it starts to run out! The wool will be squeezed into any spare space I can find on the way back!
Linedancerann - what a lovely long list of things. I know you said it was eighteen weeks worth but that is still a huge amount! Well done.
Elaine - hope the patient is recovering well and you haven't had to do too much tongue biting!
May - hope things are well with you.
Pam - hope you are OK?
ISOM - best advice to anyone is to change the password on your email account every couple of months - I know I will after all the hassle I had!
Tootifrooti - don't worry too much about leaving a length of wool. I know it's a bit easier with some wool to sew up with, but the squares are always welcome whether they are finished off or not. I'm sure Mrs Twins won't mind.
Well, I'm desperately trying to get organised for our trip away. This morning we had to get the holiday home ready for the next guests who arrive the Saturday after we leave. What with doing the garden as well, it took up the whole morning. At least tomorrow, I can start packing properly - we have to leave at 9.30 the next morning, so we won't have much time on the day.
Still no sign of the cat so I think that's it. We are thinking of getting another one - the local cat charity is always getting stray kittens in, so it would be nice to give a home to one; just hope it stays around!
The weather has been fantastic here all week - really hot and sunny. I've been taking lots of photos to print off to take home to show people what we've been up to, and it's always nicer to take photos when the sun is shining, isn't it?
I've sorted out what woolly stuff I'm taking with me - a blanket using up odd colours that are no good for anything else, and some preemie and IS hats, all of them easy enough to do without having to follow a pattern or concentrate too much.
Well, I hope to call in again tomorrow for a last couple of posts before I leave. Jean - oh, lovely Jean - will do the update while I'm away. What would I do without her? Jean - if it's hard to do with one eye, please leave it and I can do it all in one go when I come back.
Well, I've waffled long enough.
Hope you are all having a good day.

aww huggles for you Miol...horrible when you dont know for certain. When Oscar went missing I just hoped he found a house that gave him lashings of smoked salmon and tried to ignore the alternatives!
Poor you roaming! Makes you appreciate those eyes though doesent it!
~mum safely transferred at reading services! Cross with her though (in a nice way!) as she went off with my phone charger; "sorted" the knitting needles-all the nice ones in her bag and the crappy ones in mine! Flipping cheek! Final straw was her using my toothbrush HOw gross!!!! She now knows that some things are sacred - even if I did come from her womb!
