Hi sock-knitter. Sorry to hear you are feeling so alone - unsurprising but remember, we're all here!
Thinking about your situation re boys approaching school leaving age, Google Farm Special Needs and you will come across links such as this:
http://www.hgfsupportedliving.co.uk/
which may or may not be a suitable way forward for you and them. The point being that the time to investigate is now, as all of these places need you to have the support of a referring authority. While the boys are still at school then you have a chance of getting the LEA to take on this role; if they leave school and are no longer the responsibility of the education department then you have to start again with assessments and referrals etc through the NHS, psych depts etc and this is a) no fun and b) even harder as there are even more financial pressures, and mental health funding is being slashed nation wide because (I think) it's an easy target.
Of course, my initial suggestion may be totally unsuitable, but you will need some sort of plan for their long term future, and as you have already found all the legwork is down to you! Sounds as though you have a little time to yourself while they are in school, so let's think positive and find a positive and hopefully supported location for their future lives!
Mrs Twins - post just brought me the lovely card from you. The lovely picture and your kind message really cheered me. Thank you so much!0 -
Hi all
Kathy, Happy Birthday and hope you have a lovely trip.
Jean, glad your eye isn’t too sore, hope the swelling goes down soon.
Linedancerann, great update, you have been busy!
Pippa, thinking of you and your family over the next few weeks and sending gentle thoughts.
ISOM, 13 hour day, no wonder you’re shattered. Had to laugh at your tale of your mum and the needles, and the toothbrush!
Sock knitter, so sorry to hear that you’re having such a hard time again. How come people who really need help can’t seem to get it? I have some stuff for you soon, can you pm me your address?
May, hope you’re ok and just lurking.
Thinking of all the mia’s and poorlies.
Love and hugs to everyone
Lisa

Just a quick fly-by; and will catch up properly with posts later.
Pam and Sharon - what are either/both of you up to this Thursday or Friday? I am off work and at something of a loose end (well, a little looser than normal)...especially as DS goes back to school tomorrow, and DH looks after DD when I am usually not here.
Are either of you available for coffee and cake? If not, then that's fine, but thought I had better ask the question.
shaz, if you are free and Pam's not, then perhaps we could meet somewhere woolly....?
Dawn x:hello:0 -
PTB - what a lovely idea cake in Yorkshire, shame it's too far for me but I hope it all ends up a lovely meeting.
I did a detox foot thingie last night and woke this morning gasping for liquids........don't think I will do that again in a hurry WHAT AN EEJIT I AM.
Hope that Kathy got away nice and early as there are quite a few road blocks - standard practice during any kind of strike here, I did think I would go shopping (food) today but have cancelled that one. The last thing I need is to be stuck either in the supermarket or not even make it past the first roundabout, where it's usual to have a blockade. Leaving the shopping for another day then. So rain chucking it down again, will spend even more time doing snowmen. I just hope they all get sold at the school fayre, if not there will be loads of kiddies walking home with them after school closes in December "present for mummy". Sharon, hang on in there, it will get better and as Seakay says start to sort it out now in plenty of time for next year. Off for a cuppa then back at the machine, ye all take care happy Tuesday and a cuddle to everybody.

seakay, i hadnt heard of special needs farms before, thankyou for finding me the link, i'll see the boys social worker tommorrow, and will mention to her, that i think its a good idea, for joshua, as i know he would fit in really well. all the farms seem to need a referal from socail worker, and sooner the ball starts rolling, the sooner something can be sorted, thanks again
