I'm absolutely amazed! It's late afternoon and I'm first here. You must all be really busy today.
Did the mini meet go great in Yorkshire this morning?
Pippa, hope the move for your MIL went well. You might be able to get some things sorted out now.

I was thinking of a trip to Habiknit next week to look at buttons for a couple of cardis I have planned for DGD now that autumn is on its way. Going to try and remember to post some pics this weekend too.

    Love and hugs to everyone

Hope the meeting went really well, I anticipated you all arriving for cake and coffee but as no one turned up I ate the cake and chucked the coffee - it had been on too long!
Pol - what I got at the shops was SOAKING WET every time I stuck my head out of the car, DH had taken the umbrellas out as well - he said they rattled in the boot...needless to say he has been suitably chastised for that and I have stuck the whacking great big golf brollie back in, will murder him if it comes out before next summer. Luckily enough he always keeps one of those horrid ugly Kagool jackets under the back seat (for emergencies) so although sartorial elegance was not me on the day I was glad of it!We have had a fair amount of thunder today and I have flung a couple of migraleave tabalets down my head - as I felt one trying to get started so that foiled it. Off to make pizza for tea then settle down with new book I have. Ye all take care and love and cuddes to everybody.

  • knew I was meant to be somewhere lol!
Home via post office to pick up parcel that yet to arrive so will have to go back again tomorrow which is a pain!
Arrived home to lovely blanket so thanks for that chalky! Lovely and bright! Also discovered that isoke has registered her annoyance at being left home alone by knocking over huge plant which will have to be repotted when I get it a new pot! Naughty girl!
Determined to get some wooly stuff done. Didnt like the blanket I was doing so starting again (common theme for me!) so will do more of the amoebic hexagon!!
Hugs all; Salome is in America btw! Hugs to awols! Hope youre all ok!

the yorkshire meet up was a great success, pam and dawn are two of the loveliest people i have met.
firstly pam picked me up and took me to dawn's, and from there dawn took us to coldspring mills which was a lovely place and we all bought some of the wooly stuff, and i treated us all to some yummy cake and coffee. discovered that cake isnt fattening when drank with coffee, as the heat from the coffee dissolves the calories lol:rotfl::rotfl:
then pam took me back home, past texere, well we just had to call in, as pam hadnt been before, and of course some more wool just fell into our arms as we walking past, so we took it home, well it would have been rude to go in and not buy anything lol.
the only downside of the day was coming home, and finding out how badly my son had been bullied. had received texts from son to say 4 lads had got him and thrown stones at him, wen i got home he told me the full story, how they had taken his scones off him and thrown them in street,(was cooking lesson), then they had punched him and kicked him, before throwing stones at him. school are taking problem seriously as its happened every day, and a lady who lives on the route home from school also reported it so we have an independant witness, if it happens again, it will be a matter for the police.
took sons to carvery for a treat to cheer josh up, thats my excuse lol, already said to pam, i'd had a lovely day doing no work, and i didnt fancy cooking tonight
    hugs all

B***gr...was going to suggest popping into Texere too, but wasn't too sure that you would have time.

Haven't been in there for ages (and I only work round the corner)....I could have come with you!

me, miffed? never....not to worry, there#s always next time.

It was lovely of you to come over, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Need to sort what we discussed re LH etc.

Shaz - hugely sorry for what's happened; hope that school does take it seriously and takes some action.

Just popped in for a quick look and ....O you are lovely you lot....I have been close to tears for most of the day and you have just pushed me over the edge
Thank you all so much for being there and for the kind wishes for MIL.
The move went well but she is very confused and still thinks she is in hospital.

We have worked so hard emptying the flat and getting the things she will need moved over to the nursing home, just her up and down chair to go now but we just couldnt do any more tonight we are exhausted.
We will finish the flat off on Sunday OH's brothers are helping out as well so they can move the chair.

The sofa is calling me so I am off to relax, watch TV and if I can stay awake do some knitting :)

mrs-m - the books arrived yesterday thank you so much I will take them on the cruise if we can still go, I love the bookmark that silky crochet cotton is so difficult to use well done :T
Hope you are all ok (((hugs))) for all x

Off for a BRANDY AND COKE (diet of course) A LARGE ONE or 2 if I feel like it;)

dawn, next time we are over we will pop into texere again xxx
been talking in depth with ds, and he is absolutly terrified of walking home from school, because of the bullies, its such a shame as he has only just found the confidence to walk there alone, and now it looks like having to resort back to taxi's to get him there and back safely, i would of course drive him myself, but i'm not always available, as i have to be at home for his twin brother too.
anyway both kids settled in bed for tonight, so i'm having an early one too, as have to be up at six to wake josh up for work experiance, he is going to be doing this twice a week, so at least two days he is safe from bullies.
cant stop touching the 100% merino wool that i bought today, its so soft and squishy:)
    night night everyone

Hi peeps; well I had a lovely time today, “went the wrong way” (I don’t get lost!!!) 3 times – not good, especially as I made Sock-knitter late home – sorry Shaz!

Rescued some scrumptious Laura Harding 100% silk dk., some Debbie Bliss baby cashmerino, and some King Cole Merino blend 4ply superwash.

We had a lovely chat over good coffee and great cake – yum!

We talked about crochet, Dawn said she just can’t & Shaz said she can’t remember what she learned, I told them I just bought a Tunisian crochet hook from ebay & am looking forward to giving it a go! When we next get together, I shall take wool & hooks so we can have a quick show & tell.

Thanks both for a lovely day!

PippaS - HUGS for you and yours, take care of yourself,

Roamin' - hope you enjoyed the cake - lol

Chalky glad DD has been in touch - hmmm! yo-yo's - interesting!

ISOM - take it easy, it will take a while to adjust to full time w**k, hope the arm feels better soon.

Hugs and blessings for everyone who would like them,

    'bye for now
    Pam :smileyhea
