Hello you lovely lot. Thank you for all your good wishes for William. To be honest both Andy and I have been feeling very fragile all week. It is very hard to talk to people about it. Some of the comments are so well meant but." I expect he may have a limp" or " his bones must be very weak" are very hard to bear. I have been on the verge of tears all week.
Bless him. He can only lay on his back and at night he has muscle spasms which make him cry out in pain. These six weeks can not go fast enough.
I am reading back and wish that things were better for some of you too. Edna should pack her bags pronto x x x
pfungi happy New Home!
psso how are you?

People do talk twaddle Chalky. Its one of the hardest bones in the body that little man has broken. Its called a toddler's fracture because it usually happens between 9 months and 3 years as a babies body gets accustomed to being up right and walking. Its very upsetting for all concerned and Im sending huge hugs to you especially as I know how I would be in your shoes. I am sure you will find he is soon more accustomed to the situation and once the muscle spasms ease he will be his old self - children are remarkably resilient. xxxClearing the junk to travel light

I do hope that the Wonderful William is feeling a wee bitty better by now- it will be quite a struggle for all the family but fingers crossed it will all pass quickly. Some folk have no IDEA when it comes to the FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE......... just one of those things. I well remember some eejit telling my cousin after her son had died (aged 22) that "She was looking much better after the funeral and was getting over it" how crass was that - I nearly pasted the dear lady!
I have had a bit of a busy week and been all over the place attempting to get organized and failing completely SIL & her Beau are here for a whole month. That garden of ours just never gets done - so have spent a very good part of last week attempting to at least rid the brambles out of the main part, some judicious pruning (some would say nigh on killing the trees). Weather is now pants so that's the gardening knocked on the head for a couple of days. Tunnel and greenie are bursting with all sorts of little platelets - so I am making certain that they are being looked after even covering them on cold nights - SPOILED ROTTEN THEY ARE.
UPDATE FOR THIS WEEK (not a lot - but still trying)
6 IS HATS
My number one nephew (also my godson) telephone on mothers day to announce that they are due to have a baby the first week in October - so time for charity knitting just has to take a bit of a back seat for a week or two while I attempt ..........(ready for this) The Very Hungry Caterpillar cocoon & hat, baby receiving blanket (shetland wool/size skinny needles would be preferred), bobble baby blanket (well I might manage that one using the PSSO's crochet scarf/blanket pattern) oh and what about some of those lovely hightop trainers and a teddy bear hat........so not much on the list for the coming weeks!!
DH is off to UK and Belgium tomorrow morning so I will have about 10 days of uninterrupted crafting time in between other little jobs.
SENDING YOU ALL LOAD OF LOVE AND CUDDLES - be kind to yourselves - you are all extremely important (to me and others)

Oh, Chalky; my heart goes out to you all, especially little William. I can hardly imagine what you and DH must be feeling, being so far away. I know how anxious I am when one of mine has a simple cold. Ginny's right; children are resilient, and one of the best things is that he won't remember it as he gets older, so you will probably end up being more traumatised about this whole horrid experience than him. Please send him a virtual Skype hug from me, and take one for yourself.
Have had a busy weekend but will be back on here tomorrow. Hope you are all feeling good, and that no one has had a visit from Edna for a while.

DD2 was round at the weekend her lovely fella got rid of some really nasty malware off the puter while she showed me her new crocheting skills - shes made a beautiful ripple blanket in black and white. it looks lovely you wouldnt believe that only last weekend she bought a little sample square of ripple round that shed made after watching a you tube clip.

In a world that has decided that it's going to lose its mind, be more kind my friend, try to Be More Kind0 -
Hi everyone; taking a bit of a breather now with a cup of coffee. The weekend has flown by; we've been socialising a lot, and have thoroughly enjoyed it, but now the housework needs attention, and I need to do some baking because we have friends coming to stay for the night on Thursday - they really like cakes and biscuits!
Chalky - those Ikea biscuits are becoming an essential item here. DH loves them; he's been sharing them with a chap he's been working with, so his wife now has the recipe, and I took some when we went to visit our Australian friends yesterday, and I am just about to email her the recipe, too, which she said she will send to her daughters in Brisbane. They are spreading around the world! I now pulverise the oats in bulk, so that I can save time when I make them! I get different amounts of biscuits every time I make them (depending, I suppose, on how much dough makes it into the oven). I got sixty in the last batch.
Elaine - I love all your bobbly makes; I still haven't used my bobbly wool, but I will have a go soon.
I am coming to the end of another blanket, and am sorting out the wool to start another one.
The wheelchair wrap that I made my Mum for Mothering Sunday has gone down a treat with her. My sister said she wears it all the time, which fills me with joy. I shall make her a couple more - she feels the cold all the time, so I want to make sure that she always has one handy. It's such a fantastic pattern, and to know that it really is appreciated makes it so rewarding to make. I think I might make her one in C*******s colours, too. I can't remember who first mentioned the pattern, but thank you so much!
Jean - I hope you enjoy your crafting time; how lovely to be completely uninterrupted for so long. DH is working for most of this week, so I can get a bit more done than I usually do. How lovely to have a new baby to knit for, too!
Well, I shall call back to do the update a bit later on. I must get the washing on the line because it's a lovely day here, then I must get on with the baking.

Your kindness and thoughtfullness has meant so much to me this week. Thank you so much. What a wonderful place in the world this is.
Well week one of six seems to have taken an age. Up until this morning there has been little good news but last night William slept all night without any muscle spasms . This in turm meant they got a good nights sleep. What a blessing. Obviously he still has a long way to go but my heart is feeling lighter today.
As Mrs Moneypennysays what a lot is going on in everybody's lives just now and I too send the gentlest supportive thoughts to you all.Try and do a good deed every day.0
