    morning all
popped in to see if there was an update on the gorgeous little william, so glad he had the op and i pray that things will all heal well and strong with no more problems. the cast does sound bulky but hopefully once the bone has knitted they may be able to par the cast down to make it easier to cope with. a friend of mine broke her leg while on a skiing holiday recently and had to fly home wearing a full hip to toe cast (taking up three plane seats) but after a week and some more xrays she it now sporting a purple knee high cast - with her toes peeping out the bottom.

    hugs to all

That's encouraging, Mrs Moneypenny; let's hope he only has to wear the bulky cast for a short while.

That cast does sound bulky .I hope he's not in it for long .They do seem to get people out of the big casts fairly quickly these days.

Last scarf finally finished so that's six scarves and six hats plus two pairs of mittens. Now I need to do four more pairs of mittens.I want to do some little knitted purses too but they only use oddments and won't take long so may leave them for a while. We go walking one evening a week in the summer and I get the train to DHs office where we get changed before meeting up with the walking group. Last year I found that I could knit a bootee on the journey between here and Stockport so might try doing purses this year.

    Hello :)
I thought this was a good place to ask the question, where do you recommened buying your wool from? Mainly the project I am doing requires chunky/super chunky wool and although there is some suppliers local, I am wondering if I can get it cheaper online, and where people use.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to put the question, just thought it would save starting a new thread.
    Thank you :)

    HI peeps
Lovely sunny day today hope its as good where you all are :)

We are off to Oxford this pm to meet up with DIL to pick up the girls they are staying until Sunday. We meet up at Oxford services which is about half way from here to West Sussex it saves us all some travelling time.....oooo I am so excited.....:j:j:j

ginny - belated HAPPY ANIVERSARY to you and OH, hope you had a good day filled with lovely things... has DGS gone off on his globetrotting travels to France yet?
chalky - my heart goes out to you all, sending lots of (((hugs))) to you and some very gentle ones for the delicious William a very brave little man in his new red plaster suit xxxx
I was so sad to hear about all that he has been through...
some people can be so insensitive if they can't say something supportive why can't they keep their mouths firmly SHUT... blockheads...
I tried to send you a text on my new all singing all dancing phone... but it must be floating about up in space somewhere...not the phone think its the user thats the problem :o but given time I will get it !!!
kathy - is it the wheelchair wrap that you made?? that's the one I made for Mom a few years ago and then did one for SIBOL and posted a photo on here from flickr, it sits on the shoulders easily and the hospitals like them because they dont have to be removed for examinations...
It is heartbreaking watching as our parents get older and can't do the things they used to, the memory and the strength starts to go but, a look in the eyes at times tells you they are still the same Mom they always were. I am so pleased to hear your Mom has started to read again, I gave Mom the Blossom Street books to read and she loves them she always was an avid reader and these books are easy readers
psso - Surprised at your work putting you under pressure like that, how can they expect you to know how long you will be off afterwards, after an op it's always a guesstimate . I hope you get a date soon though
jean - love the ted he looks well hugged, and the caterpiller is looking good. Talking hollow legged boys mine have turned into hollow legged men :rotfl:

I have been working on little things lately in between Moms blanket... and I finished 2 UFO's :D one was Lucy's flower decoration and the other was a hat...so thats 2 down another 4 to go...not bad I had 9 at the start of the year so I am getting there slowly ;)

I hope those who were suffering the dreaded edna are free of her presence now

    love to all Anne x
Oh dear...got a bit carried away I didn't intend a post this long sorry :o

Oh and keep your eyes open for chunky bargains in Lidl and Aldi - they happen now and again and you can search on line for their up coming offers

Newthrift have a look at any or all of the above to compare their prices and deliver charges - all those sites have at one time or another been recommended by someone on this thread - the only one I have used is ice yarn
    who deliver world wide.

hello and welcome to you newthrift :)
I buy most of my yarns from a local shop they sell mainly James C Brett at very reasonable prices, have looked in charity shops but find a lot of them are quite expensive, some markets are reasonable as well
here are a few online suppliers...

Newthrift - you could try Hobbycraft if you have a loca branch.Their yarn is often on a three for two offer. Not sure how much bulky they sell though.

It's always worth asking in charity shops for yarn. The one I work in often has it in the back but we don't always get round to putting it in the shop.
