F1 never feel guilty hunny - its all relative, and your health is important after all you have been through with hubby lately. We just have to potter on here and hope for no crisis each day. Mostly I do ok but last week was rubbish with Dd's fella getting made redundant from his amazing job which was the final straw that day. I am back on form today besides this stupid flu which is hanging on but have got lots done. I sent the parcel Thursday so it should be with you today xxx
Roamin, hope the weather has been good all weekend for you, it makes life feel that little bit better doesnt it? Dd is back to France at the end of April to see little mans other grandad. Last year he came back talking so we are wondering what he will be upto this time. Im really excited for him and his Mummy and Daddy. I have never been further than the Isle of Man ( out of choice ) so love the idea of such a little person being a jet setter.
Hugs to all my dear friends xxxClearing the junk to travel light

Hello everyone... And lots of special love tucked in. Dd1 has been here with her partner and we have had the most wonderful time. Yesterday we went out all day and when we returned the computer was binging and bleeping and all with messages from Dubai. My heart was in my mouth. And sadly fully justified.
Dear William had some friends around to play and tripped over a cushion on the tiled floor. It resulted in a spiral fracture of his femur. He had to have surgery and is now plastered from his tummy button to ankle on the broken leg side. Six weeks of lying on his back.
I can not tell you how we feel and to see him in his cast this morning broke our hearts. I know all the right things to say,and platitudes about how children heal so quickly etc stc but right now Dubai and us seem a World apart. He was quite distressed on Skype today as they had moved him from the hospital. His cast is set at a 30degree angle so he can not even sit in his car seat etc. No water near him for 6 weeks as if the cast alters shape they will have to put him under anaethestic again to reset it .
Oh! How can 24 hours change things so much xxTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Oh Chalky the poor little fella. Thank goodness you can skype and see him though instead of imagining. I wont even offer a platitude of any kind as I can see it wont help. Sending you love and hugs to you and all the family. Am going to light my candle now sending healing vibes across the miles. xxClearing the junk to travel light

morning all
chalky my heart goes out to you and poor little william. As you say there are plenty of things to say but words dont take away or compensate for the fact you just want to hold him and give him a gentle loving cuddle not a virtual one.
my thoughts over the weekend were with everyone who found mothers day difficult.
not going to get any knitting done today as my 'baby' is 14 so ive promised he can have some friends round after school for a pizza and xbox session. will need to nip out and buy supplies later as boys of that age seem to have hollow legs!
hugs to all who need themSPC~12 ot 124

mrs mp hope your ds has a lovely birthday, I remember my lads having hollow legs at that age
chalky, poor little William, my heart goes out to him and yourself, hope he makes a speedy recovery
love shaz xxxloves to knit and crochet for others0 -
Oh, Chalky, what horrible news. My heart goes out to you all. Poor little William; I can only imagine how I would feel if it was one of my grandchildren, especially being so far away. I will keep him, and all of you who must be so worried about him and how he will cope, in my thoughts. Perhaps you can make his Skype calls special by writing a story that you can read to him on each call about a gorgeous little boy just like him who has the same accident. I know he loves it when you and your DH read to him, and I am sure a special story that mirrors what happens to him will help make him feel better.

another week of MIA for me some things not too good but...other things really good...
but I am here for a while now so have at last had a quick read through,
I too had tears in my eyes on Mothering Sunday, remembering my dear MIL she is very much missed every day x
I am blessed to still have my Mom, who we visited loaded with all sorts of goodies on Sunday you know the sort of thing favourite chocolate, marzipan bars,3 cedar Cove books by Debbie Macomber a pretty nightie and this year we took her a standard Azalea a white one, which she can enjoy in her flat until the flowers fade away... then Angela the lady who has taken on the communal garden at Rowheath House will plant it out opposite Moms window, alongside last years hyacinths which are looking very pretty this year
chalky - awww poor little chap...lots of skype time over the next 6 weeks, and lots of story writing/reading for nanny and grandad methinks, I am sending big hugs for you all and an extra big hug for William xx
mrs-m - HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your DS hope he has a good day.....nothing changes I can remember my 2 bringing home various friends seems like every day, the favourite then was egg, chips and beans with a penguin to follow YUK ...just thinking back that was 30+ years ago  when they were 12 and 14...and the things you remember like them at 18 ish and still bringing friends home for a coffee or now and then to sober them up rather than feed them, you know I miss those days always a house full of 6 footers, tripping over them lounged about all over the floor music blaring away, listening to them talk about "the love of their lives" then the heartache of the (sometimes) broken romances, I feel priviliged they could confide in me
I have been working on various bits and pieces lately also trying to finish off another couple of UFO's
Been to the dentists today for the second time in a week...he said the tooth that is causing problems may have to come out,I asked if he could crown it, but he said not possible as there isn't much of the tooth left, it has been filled so many times over the years and every time a little more of the tooth is ground away, the filling that is in now has a tiny metal bar in to help it hold in, I really don't want to lose another tooth, but I will find out on Friday
I had the results back from my MOT, and liver, kidney, diabetes and cholesterol all normal, which is good news...OH said who told you you were normal....the cheek of him you might guess my reply...definitely unprintable :rotfl:
Take care all, hope all the poorlys are feeling a bit chirpier now
Love Anne x
sorry for the ramble0
