Hi everyone. A cold almost frosty start this morning but the sun is out now and it is warming up by the minute. I have just seen our first swallow of the seaon; that's the earliest we have seen them since we moved here five years ago. Hopefully, they will have another successful year breeding in our barn. I love to see them.
Jean - thanks for that link to the ribbon yarn necklaces. I do have some of that yarn, so I will have a go.
Elaine - thanks for the link to the crochet bobble wool pattern. I have three 50g balls of two tone blue. I can tell it won't be enough for a blanket but I can try a scarf.
Mrs Moneypenny - I think about Chrisstmas all year round!
I am really pleased with the stripey blanket I am making. I have used ten different colours so far, and am doing four rows of HDCs alternating with one row of a treble filet (1 tr, miss a stitch) and it's coming along really well. I am using oddments so I just crochet with each colour until I have run out of wool.
Have a great day, everyone.

They're both lovely, Mrs Moneypenny. I am going to dig out my pom-pom wool and the ladder ribbon out tomorrow and have a go with both of them. I was going to do it today but ended up spending all day making treats: a batch of Chalky's Ikea biscuits, a Weetabix cake, a tea loaf, and a chocolate pudding. It took me hours to clean up afterwards but it was well worth it!

Love those scarves Mrs moneypenny - not sure I would have the patience to do them tho'
Mioliere - if I hurry will there be any left for me with a cuppa?
I have spent the whole day in the greenhouse - took everything out sorted arranged, scrubbed the inside with that jeyes fluid stuff - smells terrible but I won't have any pests,. Mended the staging which was home made about 10 years ago and I keep saying we should buy some - NOPE saving the dosh for better things.
I have the outside to wash tomorrow and all the plant pots before I can put them back in safely, then it will be full speed ahead. I even filled the heater up in readiness of the cold snap due next week I believe. Of for a quiet sit down in a comfy chair with a little bit of crafty ness. The Hooligan Wooligan – age 9¾

roamin the grey crocheted one was so easy and only took about 30 mins! the red one was done wile watching a dvd with DH so both were an evenings work.
you put 5 of the 'loops on your hook bring the first four over the last one so you are left with one, then put four more on and do the same again till you get to the end of the ball. Then i just pulled the end through and put a couple of stitches in to hold it neat.
the red knitted one was pick up four loops then knit into them so you are basically just knitting a four stitch row each time.SPC~12 ot 124

Jean, sounds like you've worked hard enough today to have earned a piece of each cake and some biscuits!
Yes, Mrs Moneypenny - looks like Jean is on the way!

WELLL I don't know everything I touch lately has gone to pot in a very big way - the blanket I started for SIBOL knitted in strips has been just left as strips as I ran out of yarn and then realised it wasn't big enough .... doh (still will go to good use as will send to LHs to be made into a blanket) - then last night ......
I tried a pair of those socks on the loom that roamin put the linkie up for well I had loops everywhere when I was doing the heel - lovely pattern just not made for IDIOTS like me
Previous to this was the baby blankie made out of neglected yarn - really what am I like !!!
I have my craft room on my mind so am thinking I really need to get in here and get on and then maybe I can concentrate a bit better on the knitting and will in future just stick to "la la" friendly patterns
Anyway a cup of tea and a gentle few rows of second attempt baby blanket is calling - just been told tombola to raise funds for the little lad is end of month and as I only manage a few rows a night as its getting heavy I better get a shift on
Hugs and thinking of you all J xxxxDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0
