Loving the turtle, I have pink and blue so thats ok, you can have a pink or blue turtle for a baby. I also found a beret pattern on Hanni's page for Dk not pompom but very quick and easy - I hope. Thank you Roamin , I didnt want to do just blankets.
F1 lovely to hear from you, you have been busy in those cupboards , well done.
All still quiet here, cooked a chicken and all the trimmings but no roast spuds then Hubby got up and had muesli and popped back to bed  so I have just had salad with my chicken and took a cheese cake out of the freezer - just to keep me company you understand :rotfl:Clearing the junk to travel light

Ginny, quite right having a wee treat. Mine was Apple pie and ice cream. Mmmmmmm. I only ever did scarves with the pompom stuff.
Hope hubby is a bit better tomorrow.
F1, no problem with being off work long term, not yet anyway. They know I had the heart attack in December and am due to go in for bypass surgery. That should be happening on Thursday although I haven't had the paperwork in yet,and I'll be off for about another 3 months recuperating. Lots of hedgie time.
Lacy hedgies are becoming a bit of an obsession now.Just finished number 5 and ready to start the next one. Have to think what I can take into hospital with me, will need something to keep me occupied on Wednesday.
His Nibs disappeared upstairs after his meal and fell asleep !
Needless to say nothing has been done in the bombsite.
By golly, he'd better get cracking tomorrow if he wants to watch the footie on Sunday.:rotfl:

parcel is at DWS's - she is so excited for ME......... I, off course am now GREEN with envy, but was far too mean to pay the international postage rates!. DH will collect it for me shortly - but then he is not due back here till 18th/19th April - I will just have to find something else to be getting on with.........
F1 - I shan't be admitting to what I bought - to anyone - its a huge big secret, I will say that if you buy 25 metres of knit in lace at a time you get a really good price - which enabled me to buy even more stuff. (ha ha)
I usually jinx the rugby - so stopped watching it.
Ginnyknit - looking forward to seeing the turtle finished - might just inspire me to do one.
Off to hit the knitting machine - will see how I do.

Well we have a very tired.poorly friend of Dd2 here with her 18 month year old who is delightful but does not sleep. His mum is English, dad French and he goes to a Spanish nursery!!! I think his head is buzzing
Then we haveDd2 who is on good form and we met the love of her life last night....... And he really is lovely. So all systems go.
No chance to read back and I have only sneaked on cos they are all watching a film

Hi everyone
Lovely and sunny here, and warmer outside than in, as is often the way at this time of year. I've had a lovely Skype with DS2 and his family. Can you believe that my youngest granddaughter, Megan, is three years old today? Her Mum has a birthday tomorrow, her 30th. I just wish I could have been with them this weekend to share both birthdays. They are off to Peppa Pig World today!
Jean - I hope you do eventually reveal just what that package contains!
Chalky - I hope the poorly one gets better soon. Sounds like your DD2 has found herself a lovely chap. Hope the weekend is going well.
Elaine - I shall be thinking of you on Wednesday.
F1 - thanks for asking. I still have a graze on my knee but, apart from that, I am over my fall. It was the painful hip that annoyed me the most; heaven only knows what it must be like for people who are waiting for hip transplants.
Pippa - welcome back to you!
Ginnyknit - I have some pom-pom wool. I just assumed it could not be crocheted with, and I don't knit now, which I am really sad about, because it causes too much pain in my hands. I will dig the wool out and have a go with the crochet hook. I have three balls of two-tone blue to play around with.
I tried to crochet with the knitting-in lace but found it difficult; however, I tried with some other lace (I have a box crammed full of different types of lace that I have collected over the years), and I found that a lace with holes along the top is great for crocheting in as an edging, so I am experimenting with that at the moment. I am also plodding along with a squares blanket using 4-ply which is not as quick to do as DK would be, but I have so much 4-ply that I want to use it up so I am persevering with it. I still have a DK one on the go to take a break from the 4-ply. It makes me wonder how those clever people make these lovely things
