    Hi everyone

Jean, I hope you are feeling much better today.

Chalky - I was right to rip out the blanket and start again; I am now much happier hooking it than I was the other day!

We have a mixture of sun and rain today but mostly rain, I think. At least it's not as cold as it normally is at this time of year. My thoughts are with all those who are struggling with the floods.

thank you all for your good wishes, my face is going down - drawback is the sleeping - I really am struggling to stay awake all day. Managed to make the Chalky oat/cranberry tray bake - thank you for a lovely easy bake - DH said it was gorgeous - I couldn't drizzle chocolate tho' I just had to slaiger it (that's a Scottish word meaning besmear with something soft and wet , smear or daub) I only had a smidgen off course I must also remember to go and hide it somewhere next time I pass the kitchen. I have the Ikea type biscuit mix in the fridge right now - so I will get around to cooking the biscuits after my next doze!
Lots of love to you all will pop back later I am away for my next kip!

Jean, it's obviously the tablets that are making you sleepy, so just give in to it! As for the eating, just look on that as medicinal. All I can suggest is not doing both at the same time!

The wind is really picking up here again and it's raining. I'm still knitting socks for me then plan to concentrate on the charity knitting for a while.

I was given a black bag full of oddments of wool last week. It was surprisingly heavy to carry home-about a mile. There's all sorts in there so need to get it sorted.

It looks like an afternoon for watching TV and knitting- with perhaps a little bit of chocolate.

Sorry been AWOL for a few days...lappy threw a wobbly and didn't want to play grrrr...luckily after restoring back a month or so OH managed to get it working again today :T:T:T
BUT I haven't turned it off and back on again yet so watch this space..............

Not 5:00 o'clock yet and it's getting dark already, the snow a couple of days ago lasted a few hours until the winds started and then more rain, everywhere there are trees blown down and big chunks and branches littering the ground, we are too high up for flooding though. I do feel for the poor folk who have been forced out of their homes due to floods

jean - poor you I hope you are all tickety-boo again soon and if you feel tired it's your body TELLING YOU TO SLEEP!!! so go do it...right consider yourself told off and go have a nap ;)
chalky - I have to say I think you are so clever...for making 3 corners into 4... and so brave...for cutting into your work, the blanket is gorgeous, someone is gonna love it
kathy - I know how you felt about the blanket being 'wrong' it's happened to me a couple of times and I did the same as you, ripped it back, started again and felt more comfortable with it the second time, it's much easier to work on something you like than something that feels like a chore I think :)
Kit1 - well done with the hats don't worry about how many you make even one will make a difference to someone

I have picked up the tiny squares again and have decided to make it bigger so now there are 126 squares mostly joined together, can't really see the different shades of some of the colours mainly the yellow and the sort of rusty colour, maybe the black edging helps.

Mom not been too good for the last few days she had a swollen leg and the doctor thought it could be a blood clot, after various tests etc they have now decided it isn't a clot but think it could be due to her age (92) and the fact she doesn't move about as much as she did...not surprising at that age with arthiritis and osteoporosis it is very difficult for her.

OH wants a :coffee:so I better go put the kettle on
Keep warm and cosy everyone love Ax

Evening all - hope you are all well that is except for ...
jean - sorry to hear you are not well poor thing - as others have said your body is saying STOP just get yourself tucked up and have a lovely rest you do too much we worry about you - hope you feel better soon and let us know when you can what the Drs say - sending a big hug over the water xxxx

kit1- lovely to hear about your hats keep at it as pippa says just one hat is better than none Im not the fastest knitter either so don't worry xx

thirzah - oooo bag of squishiness how lovely I get so excited about donated wool (yes Im very sad!) tell us what you had in your bag of goodies when you get a chance to sort xx

pippa - your poor mum sounds a wonderful lady though at 92 and the blanket is sounding fab show us a pic when you have finished xxx

chalky - everyone is right the blanket is great at the point I saw three corners I would have wept folded it up thought about it and then put it in the brown thing in the corner ie b.i.n so you are very clever xxx

well I think the operation of DOH's head has made him a changed man - for the first time in a year he has made dinner tonight I have had a packet of cup cakes from M&S and roses and a card one very lucky lady in more ways than one (shouldn't say it really but was a little stressed over the cost of those items as these shops know how to charge when its V day! his gift was a handmade card (using up my stash ;)) and I baked a cake decorated it with the addition of cake pops sticking out of the top - death by chocolate it certainly is whoops - he hasn't smoked since his ordeal and am very proud of him downside is he is eating us out of house and home whoops!

Well stay safe all of you in this awful weather hugs to all xxx

 Hello chums, how are you all doing ?

Dry, cold and windy here right now, looks like it might rain soon though. Perfect weather to stay inside and craft.

Well, I had to give in and buy a new tumbley:( Managed to buy a new belt for the old one, DS fitted it but when he turned it on there was a horrible grinding noise and burning smell  so it landed out the back door pronto quick !

Still cracking on with the grannies and sewing them all together, haven`t mastered the art of crocheting them together.

Kit1 - I was only joking when I asked how many hats you had done :o Sorry. As the others have said, it doesn`t matter how many/few you do, each and every one will help someone somewhere. As long as you enjoy doing them, that is the main thing.

Jean - hope the fizzog has settled now. Just you enjoy the enforced sleeeeeeeeps. A wee naplette noo and again is just the job for recharging the batteries. Look out sweatshop when she is back to full strength :rotfl:

Thirzah - yes, a black bag full of wool would be very heavy. It will keep you busy and out of mischief for a while.

Kathy - love the sound of your blanket. Green, tangerine and cream sounds scrummy.

Chalky - did your assessor chappie turn up to inspect your tiles ( or lack of them :D) Hope not too much damage caused.

F1 - oooh you lucky thing. Long may the no smoking keep up. When Jim stopped after his heart attack, I put all the money he would have spent in a jar (he didn`t know about it ) and when he saw something he really wanted I was able to give him the money to buy it. He was so surprised and delighted, but also so shocked that it was so much that would otherwise have gone up in smoke - literally.

Mrs mp - how is your DS(?) getting on with the driving lessons ?
My DD is practicing all the time now. She had to drive when I came out of hospital and then when I had that dizziness problem, so she is the one who picks up the car keys when we go out anywhere.

I`m sitting here watching the tree branches swaying about and the clouds scudding across the sky.....think it`s time to light the fire, put the kettle on and see if there`s something decent to watch on the telly while working on the grannies :D

Definitely sounds like a plan, anyone joining me ? Got a tin of biscuits which needs to be decluttered ;)
