Hello all, wild and windy here. Just been to see Ds in his new apartment with DGs who loved it. Its in an old mill so Dgs enjoyed the view from the window and of course seeing his fab uncle who had chocolate biscuits - what more could he want.
Finished a mitred granny square blanket which will be going on Fleabay as part of my debt busting and stash busting. Just started a shawl in cream and its growing very fast.
I have a reel of pink ric rac here off my neighbour - yes an entire reel so if any of you would like a dollop of it for their crafty exploits I will happily post you some. 10 yards fits easily in an envelope and costs pennies to send so just let me know.
Oh gone for a snooze while Dgs happily snores his head off on the couch. I love my Saturday afternoons!Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
Thanks for that link, Jean; I will pass it on to my FIL in Cyprus because he follows most sports!
Wet, windy and 'orrible here but still better than a lot of other places, I think.
Stay safe and dry, everyone.

Hello to one and all .... It's blowing a gale here. Too dangerous for a magic carpet landing. Even though I have biscuits!
We bought a box of biscuits from Ikea and they were so delicious. So I googled the recipe for Oaty Ikea biscuits and this one came up. They are totally yummy..
I used butter instead of marg and thought they were not going to work as they went hard after the uncooked mixture sat for two hours in the fridge. But I made flattened balls and put them in the oven at 180 deg for about 8 minutes. I did not take my eyes off them though as they would soon catch I think. They are crisp and sweet. Says you make 100 out of the mixture. I couldn't but about 40. I did not add the chocolate at all. Just got the thumbs up from Doh too.
Here is the recipe if you want to try them.

I did not know that was how you made oatmeal either ... So every day is a school day.
Well I am not being mysterious but something could be happening with my blog tomorrow. If all goes well it might be featured in a magazine. I have to have an interview in the morning and then I will know for certain. I was approached out of the blue .... And it has all been doing a bit of tooing and froing over recent weeks. No payment to boost the wool fund sadly but a little flurry of excitement here in Chalky Land. I wish my DMiL was still alive. She bought every magazine on a weekly basis and would have been tickled pink if my blog had been featured . I, on the other hand never buy any magazines but will make an exception to see if they have managed to airbrush the photo of me enough to make it publishable!!!!
pippahow lovely to see Mrs Twins. I hope Mr Twins is settling into retirement Ok.
jeanyes please to pics of blankets.
kathyhow is that cold?
psso how is the de cluttering?
Thanks for all the kind comments about the bag. It served me very well in the market. I am fighting off turning life into a bagmakingfest. I don't want another obsession.
What is going on with the cost of sewing thread. Ridiculaus price for cottons. And my machine grumbles even more loudly that usual if I use cheap threads.
I am still hooking a blanket in shades of blue to keep me out of mischief at the moment.
Love to all x[Try and do a good deed every day.0 -
BLANKET UPDATE - Well it took me a whole day to just punch out the card for the pattern and then I struggled to remember what to do on the machine - I also see there are a couple of mistakes so I will FROGGITT and start again - happy enough with the outcome tho' considering I am such a numpty!
CHALKY - THE BAG OF THE MOMENT (I won one- but have made at least 15 to give away) is this one - and I know for a fact that cotton yarn in Spain is peanuts!!

Have had a real shock went to add some pics to wooligans and its all new and shiny site.... when I have another go I will make some notes so I can remind you all how to use it........ COS IMAGESHACK is due to change and charge shortly
UPDATE (AT LAST - MADE SOMETHING!)
6 BABY HATS
2 CHILD HATS
OATMEAL.......nope it isn't made that way...........Oats are little roundels of pure lovelyness (see I grew up Scottish)...they come in various sizes pinhead, medium and course these are then flattened to created ROLLED OATS - which you will know as porridge. I think that the recipe is calling for porridge to be made into oat flour? But I could be wrong. They look yummy anyway, so went to see if they were anything like TWINKS HOBNOBS (MSE-recipe https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/471992 and they are not too far off that one - och will now have to go and make something in biscuit form to stop the cravcings!
