kathy, glad to hear your cough has finally cleared
all this biscuit chat is very tempting, if i make the coffee can i invite someone with a stash of biscuits round for a coffee morning?
had a puter free day yesterday as i had some running around to do DS2 had a climbing wall activity planned through school, DS1 and myself had drs appts. Ive had my 'womens mot' was dreading it as they normally weigh while youre there, but this time they never. why is it i dont mind the smear but hate the embarrassment of the scales?
spent the afternoon tidying the front garden as the weather was nice, glad i did as i woke to rain again this morning, but its seems to be clearing now.
must get some more hedgies done and get them in the post, need to work out the most econimical way of posting them that why ive not posted any yet. i think i get a small package sized box and see how many can be crammed into it.SPC~12 ot 124

Good morning to one and all. Biscuit love, hedgie love. Lovely.
I must agree all I can think about is biscuits!
I took the blanket to the other Cancer a Charity Shop in our nearby town this morning. They are going to put it in their Easter draw. So that is great. They were absolutely thrilled. These charities support Cancer sufferers in the area across all creeds and nationalities. There are no crafty items at all.
It made me smile as as soon as they saw the blanket they said " I don't suppose you can make chicks can you... Because we need some for our Easter display" haha .. So you can guess what is going to jump on the needles next!!
Then from there we went to the garden centre as we are still working on the cacti garden. I had been very appreciative of our friends nurturing cacti plants for us, babies from the mother plants. But, when we went to the Garden Centre and saw the price of similar ones to the ones we were given I felt quite overwhelmed. Must be about 100 Euros worth. Wonderful. Love really does make the world go round.
So I will send some on to all of you and get clicking.xTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
no more mention of biscuits or tray bakes...................After F1 posted the link to the cranberry oaty doo da's on Chalky's blog well I just had to make them.....there are two of us in this household - off course I couldn't drizzle chocolate to save my life it was slapped on thick and loverly - the whole tray worth lasted a mere 24 hours (OH I KNOW YOU GAVE ME FAIR WARNING TO HIDE THEM- I didn't). So when they were done I decided I could have a go at the Ikea biscuits also courtesy of CHALKY yep I confirm I did get 100 I didn't eat any dough - that was the day after my face exploded to enormous - but I can see why you would be tempted it looked scrummy. Well they got cooked up I didn't leave the oven while they were in I wanted them perfect and they were, while cooling DH informs me they were too sweet (? from my resident chocoholic)and were in need of some dark chocolate slapped on them to counteract the sweetness..... All I can report is they lasted just 3 days in this household - now you all know that we are greedy piggy wiggies. So we are giving biscuits and sweet things a rest - well till Friday at least - Oh its tomorrow! ha ha. I have saved both these recipes in the very back of the book and on the top shelf of the cupboard along with that Malteser tray bake and the rocky road I made for DS (which was his favorite - till he tries that oaty cranberry bake no doubt). Am now on a three day juice boost to try and make the sugar rush disappear.
cuddles to you all - off to run the legs of the two dogs as the rain has now gone off for a bit

reading this im reminded one of my favourite frog and toad stories where they make cookies together, then struggling with will power they hide them in various places around the house only to say they could still get them if it wasnt for having willing power in the end one of them takes the remaining cookies out into the garden throws them for the birds and after they are all eaten says now they have the will power to stop eating more, to which the other replies you can keep your will power im off home to bake more cookies!SPC~12 ot 124

Hi everyone
Chalky - I did eat some dough but obviously not as much as you! I agree that ginger would be nice, and other things like mixed spice, cocoa powder, and so on.
Jean - you and your DH ate them faster than we did! Hope you are feeling much better now.
Mrs Moneypenny - love the frog and toad story!
Ginnyknit - that was a good find in the charity shop!
Well, I have done the update which you can find here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhOgVamMPLdkdDREdE9nS2pPYTRlcFQ3Ujc5ekNKamc&usp=drive_web#gid=0
I am now on my fourth lap blanket and am really getting through my stash now. This one I am doing this way to avoid sewing in all the ends! Here's a link http://www.kundhi.com/blog/2010/08/10/how-to-crochet-or-knit-single-row-stripes/

Good morning to one and all. Market day here so had a lovely wander and that stopped the biscuit obsessive thinking!!!
mrs Moneypenny my children loved those Frog and Toad stories!
Kathywow! You are on a mission! Thank you for that link.
[jeanare you better? I do hope so.
pippahope this catches you before you leave. Have.a lovely holiday x
ginnyhope Doh is feeling a little Perrier.
pssohow are you ?
f1 Bernie Eclestone ... I bet that has caused some debate in your household, how are you strips going?
shaz, annakat, pfungi, and lots of other Mia's hope you are all ok?
I started knitting the Jean Greenhowe chicks. Oh knitting is so slow when you need to get a brood so thought crochet will work just as well. Then I realised they do not have to be double thickness( if you know the pattern you will know what I mean) so now I have a clutch in the making. There holds another problem. I asked Doh to get me one cream egg when he was out and he came home with 5 chocolate items as they were on special offer. So of course we just had to test 2 to make sure they were of good enough quality!!
Have a lovely day everyone xTry and do a good deed every day.0 -

Hi all, very cold and windy here but dry.
Anakat,NOT looking. Just ordered some from Marriners yesterday.Well,I needed some of the random pink to finish one of my blankets, thought I had another ball in the basket, but no. So,I thought I might as well have some of the marshmallow colour as well, then decided I'd need more white as well.Soooo, upshot was I HAD to make the order up to £25+ for free postage.
Chalky, did THE BAG go to market with you ? Full to the brim with goodies?
Just posted a small package today -9 squares for fistula charity cost £2.60
Also had a 6kg box picked up by courier only cost £6.90 door to door. Unbelievable. Grumpy old woman, that's me.
Hope all are well and hugs for anyone who needs one.
Off out tonight (very rare occurrence) so no crafting here.
