that's a link to the EASIEST SLIPPERS IN THE WORLD... which got me wondering! Yes the ones on the pic above are machine knit and they take about the same amount of time to sew up as they do to make them.
Pattern two is coming along nicely.......... so this afternoon in stead of me knocking off early I shall get stuck in and see if I can do them in fairisle or a pattern to make them thicker.

Hope you are all having a wonderful Friday

    Loving the funky slippers :D

Had a busy few days looking after Dgs. He was so good its amazing. I decided on Tuesday that we would have no stress, well I would not stress really. Oh spent most of the time in bed and Dgs was very good about it. He was at school in the morning then childminder till 4pm tues/wed/thurs so not too bad. He actually slept every night through and had wee wee's at school - :j He was happily holding it till he got to the childminders or home before that. His Mummy came home from Amsterdam well rested and much better for the break. So I have no little man this weekend as dd isnt working so I have had a lazy day then Ds took me to Tesco tonight so I dont have to either get oh to take me or drag myself there on the bus.

I have made a huge throw for a friend as a sort of gift, she paid for the yarn and postage and I made it up. She is a lovely girl who adores crochet throws ( she pins them on pinterest all the time) and sadly her and hubby have to live with her parents as circumstances mean they cannot afford their own home. Its ok but its well pat time they had their own place bless them. Anyway must get on and finish the edging whilst watching junk on tv. Hugs to all ginny xxxxx

Evening - all I can say is WOW those slippers are extremely cool - I love them - was trying to think what they reminded me of and I cant for the life of me think Im sure it will come to me xx

ginny - how very kind of you to make up the throw for your friend and how sad that they cant get a place of their own, it certainly is tough at the moment - a big clap to DGS for success at school with the toilet - hope you are well xx

Well Im going back to grass roots this week for my own little challenge and doing squares. Also doing a blanket for a friend - I made one for her first grandchild and she asked whether I would mind doing another for a tombola prize - friends want to raise money for an electric chair for their child who is severely autistic - they also need a sort of padded wendy house for him to play in safely (im hoping I have this description correct!)- this equipment does not come from any organisation and has to be funded by themselves. so was happy to help raise some much needed funds and very honoured that she asked me for another baby blanket.

Am off to put kettle on for my last cuppa of the night and get on with my second square
Hope you are all well and thinking of you and sending hugs
    Love J xxxx

Morning all, very quiet here just now.Hope it's because everyone is too busy crafting to post.

Love the slippers Jean. Maybe the square toes belong to a ballerina, you know for the blocks, en pointe ?

Have finished both the blankets now.One is white/random pink the other is cream and 2 shades of blue. Ends to be sewn in on a multi coloured granny:D next.

Waiting in for a phone call from the surgeon's Secretary. Had a call last week asking if I could go in today for op on Tuesday. Sorry, no can do,prior engagement on Wednesday. Was told I'm pencilled in for Thursday admission anyway and Secretary will phone to confirm today or tomorrow. Not sure if I'll be taken as have a bit of a head cold, little man has been sharing his germs again and his sniffles has developed into a nasty cough.

Trying to keep busy and not think too far ahead but hard to concentrate on anything.

Been sorting out the stash AGAIN-how on earth it gets in such a state I really don't know. I'm sure there must be gremlins about.

Anyway I must get on with stitching ends in and make Granny look respectable :)

    Back later.

morning all, apologies for my month long absence, been feeling under the weather, and had lots going on family wise, but all sorted now. my stepson, his wife and my gorgeous grandson, have moved into a lovely 3 bed house, with decent garden so in summer they have space to play, grandson is 6 months old now, and ever so cute, and such a happy chap, always laughing and smiling, and he has started eating solid foods now, his fav so far is broccoli, of course when I tried feeding him on sunday there was food everywhere, I'm a little out of practise, my babies will be 19 in april.
josh rang me last night, he has passed his crb check so he can work with disabled young people, which unofficially he has done as a volunteer on a Saturday for last two years.
lots knitting been done, including lots of easter bunnies.
will update now for last month, then try and catch up with all of your news.
roamin, love the slippers, does the pattern go up to a mens size 17? lol
