Your thoughts and prayers have worked !!

I have not dare come on here in case I jinx something but slowly he is improving. Everyday I thought it was a good day and then something went wrong.

He was upset yesterday as they came along and gave him a tablet for him to take and he asked what it was for - well upshot is he is on some sort of heart medication but we don't know why or for how long apparently someone will talk to him - he has had a little chat with one doctor (after I rang his nurse and explained that he has not been told anything - she was very sorry I don't blame them they are the Head and Neck Unit so directive has come from Cardiac Unit) and has a rough idea its to slow the heart down - he will have a cardiology session I think before he is discharged - he sees the eye clinic every day and they are very pleased with him.

slowly today a breakthrough he has wiggled a little his eye-lid but still it will not open he has however been left with some permanent nerve damage to his face - I did say hey if you wanted botox you didn't have to go through this.

He is moaning and whittling a little now so I now my dear one is coming back. Chest is feeling the best it has felt in months and he is not using his Inhaler.

They are still taking it day by day - he is so far the longest serving member of the small head unit - there are only 4 beds. Its a huge hospital I cant believe it is so small.

So ladies I thank you all for all your kind words and thoughts - they really have worked for him.

And Ive known that somewhere out there you have been thinking of us. It means the world

Im slowly catching up with all your news Im sorry I haven't commented - just hope everyone is ok. A few things I remembered to say .... Elaine I hope you are not doing too much x. Kathy fingers crossed x - chalky - how is that toe and quilt will pop onto blog soon xx roamin those socks are super clever old you xxx

F1 - I am so relieved to read your good news. I have been thinking of you both all weekend, as I am sure we all have. It's good that you now have an idea about what has been happening, and I wish your DH the speediest possible recovery and hope that he is back where he belongs, back home with you, very soon.

All the house viewings seemed to go well. The couple that were viewing for the second time were very positive. They took over an hour to look around the house then left but were walking around the outside with the agent, looking at the land and the outbuildings, for at least another forty minutes. I daren't build my hopes up but you never know! One of the other couples said that they will come back with a builder to quote on extending, and the agent said the third couple liked the house, too, so we are keeping everything crossed. After a really dismal few days full of non-stop rain, the sun shone for all the viewings, and things always look better when the sun is shining, so I hope that helped, too!

I am halfway through my second crocheted blanket, and shall keep on making them until our next trip back to the UK, when I will leave them in the care home that my Mum lives in for anyone who would like one. Donating them that way will save on postage, something we are all trying to do now, I think, and they will go to a good cause - the care home is wonderful and takes such good care of Mum, and the residents that I have met so far are all lovely, so I am sure the blankets will be well-received. I was wondering how to carry on making and donating without having to keep spending so much on postage (which has gone up here, again), and I am enjoying making the blankets.

Jean - the slippers look great!

Elaine - I hope you are taking it easy. Good luck with the de-cluttering; that's what I've been doing over the last couple of months with a view to having everything sorted and ready to pack the very minute we get an offer on the house. I have friends here who are desperate to move and have their house up for sale, and she is doing exactly the same - de-cluttering and packing at the same time just waiting for that one special buyer!

Ginnyknit - hugs to you and your OH.

Chalky - how is the toe?

    Have a great day, everyone.

  • Me - very late today - bit of a flap going on - Sis-in-law telephoned yesterday announcing they will be arriving at the end of this week - so have been chasing her builder to get his finger out, also did a first clean through for her - will need to go in daily and keep her woodburner going so it isn't Baltic when she arrives. Must also find her bed linen and give that an airing and a freshen up.
Lovely to see GREAT NEWS ON THE F1 frontKeep that up and he can be home in no time at all for you to cooch him in and be the nursie - a job I adore (let's me be in charge of the telly programmes - YES I AM THAT MEAN).
psso I really do think that when you are feeling that brilliant the least you could do is visit me and do my cleaning up!
    HOW IS THAT FOOT CHALKY
Mioliere still wishing you that elusive move, perhaps this will be THE ONE
We have an appointment tomorrow morning and then when we get back I really will have to knuckle down and get a load of stuff done for the freezer or I will never get caught up.
Lots and lots of love and cuddles to EVERYONE, back when I am!

:T that stocking is a real work of art :T
  • Oh Mrs Moneypenny - well done to you, IT LOOKS FANTASTIC - can I ask was it a Bucilla kit?
I did 3 of their advent calendars back in year 2000 and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of them, I keep an eye open to see if I can find others of that ilk but as yet have always failed - perhaps I should have that holiday in the States and just load up with all the goodies that I REALLY THINK I DESERVE

    That stocking is brilliant.

F1 so glad to hear your good news. I hope your DH gets better soon.

The cardigan is finally finished so I'm now back on knitting for the shoeboxes. I've done one pair of small mittens and am now making a larger pair. They look as if they will fit me but I have small hands so I think they'll be ok for a teenager.

DD wants a pair of wristwarmers so I hope to get some yarn from Hobbycraft on wednesday and with a bit of luck should get them done in time for her birthday.

I had never heard of those kits, so did a search and found them, they have some lovely things. I liked the stockings and I loved the "Mother Goose" lap quilt but did think this was a step too far :rotfl:
