oh so sorry to hear the sorry saga of your parcel, i picked a leaflet up to read what the banned and outlawed items are now after being interogated by postie when sending chrismtas pressies off.
some of the items are really laughable you cant apparently send human remains - including cremated! i kid you not that is how the leaflet is worded. but their are so many ambiguous and downright silly banned things. they will go out of business very soon im sure.SPC~12 ot 124

I get the third degree now everytime I post something mind you they are trying to close it so goodness knows what I will do them its £4 on the bus to get to the nearest one after that.
Chalky you definately need to get away to Spain. I totally understand your grief and that is what it is - my heart goes out to you. Take lots of pics for your blog so I can travel with you please
Everyone seems to be busy with lots of craftyness on here. Im making a throw for a friends bed. She puts lots of pics of crochet throws on her pinterest pages and I know she cannot do it herself so I got her to send me the yarn. She got married 2 years ago but they have to live with her Mum and she longs for her own place.
F1 any news? its a slow process isnt it hunny. Candle lit in a minute and you are both in my healing circle. xx
Pippa love the blanket, so pretty .
Psso hope you are feeling better now, take it easy sweetie.
Got the parcel to wrap for Cambodia, so will get that delivered asap. Annie is going to a jumble sale with another of my friends looking for t shirts and baby clothes for the aids orphanage. I think they will be very pleased with the things she is taking and its all donated or cost pennies.
Well am going to soak in the bath and wash my cares away. Hugs to allClearing the junk to travel light

Psso-hope you are feeling better. I had labyrinthitis a couple of years ago which made me feel horribly dizzy. I couldn't even turn my head without feeling sick and had to lie on the bed, reach for the phone and call DH at work to come home.
Any news F1?
Went into Stockport today and spent ages in Hobbycraft. I had a £5 off if you spend £20 voucher and they have yarn on a 3 for 2 offer so was trying to get my moneys worth.I got some aran for DD's wristwarmers, some more aran for fingerless gloves for SIL (for next Xmas), double knit to do a jumper for GS and a couple of balls of basic DK for scarves for shoeboxes-and some sock wool for me.0 -
Thirzah, i was in the same store last night
small world, only I forgot my voucher  The three for two on the yarn is worth while isnt it? I was trying to remember that illness'labyrinthitis' thank you for putting me out of my misery. x

Hi everyone. Just getting back online as I lost the connection - again - this morning but I managed to phone the helpline, and only had to wait a short time until I was put through to someone who said it was an external fault, so I am now back up and running.
F1 - I hope your DH is improving rapidly and will soon be home.
Ginnyknit - I hope your OH is doing well.
Chalky - I can understand that sad feeling and agree that it is a form of grief, so it will do you good to get away. What a saga about that parcel!
Thirzah - I envy you your trip to Hobbycraft; it's one of my favourite places and, irritatingly, there is nothing like it here in France.
Pippa - that blanket is lovely!
Well, I am just doing the edging on my latest blanket, then I will start a wheelchair wrap; I'm really getting through my stash now and have been enjoying doing the blankets. There's something therapeutic about crocheting long rows.
Well, we've had no news so far about any of the viewings, so we are just keeping our fingers crossed and trying not to think about it. The house will sell when it sells; well, I hope it does!
A very nice lady knocked the door yesterday to ask me if I had completed the census (or 'recensement', as it's called here). I had received a leaflet but no form to fill in. If I had read the leaflet, I would have found that I could go online to do it; note to self not to ignore letters that look like flyers - they could be important! Anyway, I did it online and found that it was a lot easier than I expected, and with none of the really intrusive questions that the UK census asks, such as religion, ethnicity, and so on. They were just basic logical questions which, being France and fully aware of its love of red tape, surprised me in a nice way! I was able to send it online, so no signature was required - how secure that is, I don't know. Anyway, that's France for you!
Well, the sun is shining today and I have a line full of washing because it rained all day yesterday. We had a very hard frost this morning, but it's really mild now.
I hope you all have a good day!

Very cold but sunny and dry here today, so the washing is out nice to see it out there waving gently on the line...will it dry who knows...but at least it will have that lovely fresh outdoor smell.
Thank you ladies for your kind comments about the scrappy square blanket
I used a flat braid join so no sewing up made a nice change
psso - I hope you are feeling a little less like Dizzy Dora today, I also hope you are taking it easy, feet up and crafting hmmmm sounds like a good idea to me...might just join you in a bit
f1 -I am sending positive healing vibes your way and a little prayer to help things along, and I hope you are looking after YOU too x
ginny - hope OH is feeling rested and is eating a little better now
THIRZAH - sounds like heaven to me rootling around deciding which to buy...we haven't a Hobbycraft near us
kathy - still keeping fingers crossed for news
shaz - hope you enjoyed your lunch, and dont worry a large granny will be fine for MrsTwins she will be very happy with it
chalky - so pleased for you that DD2 is coming home for a visit, shame about the stocking though what a palaver with the post office...have a lovely relaxing time in the Spanish sunshine
I have been trying to finish off some UFO's, up to now I have finished:-
The scrappy square blanket...started the squares last year
A sailors hat
The second wristwarmer
A scarf
To be done:-
An oblong granny
The gathering scarf
Some mohair lacy circles for a shawl
Socks...still on the first one but getting nowhere
A bag of tiny squares...can't remember what they were for now
Love to all Ax0 -
buzzing in quickly to say hello to you all and send you love and cuddles
still stripping the wallpaper, then foolish me decided I wanted some socks in a bobble yarn ON THE MACHINE..... well I have one and number two is proving to be extremely difficult - BUT I WILL WIN today or chuck the whole project. I can see that this year my projects are fraught with disaster following the surprise jacket - will let you know how I get on.
Back in a bit after I catch up with the postings - that's how busy I have been.

Hi everyone. I'm just popping in while the tea brews in the pot. It's absolutely horrible here today, non-stop rain and cold. I need an afternoon with my woolly stuff, I think. I just have the last row of the edging to do on my second lap blanket then I can start on my next project.
I have spent the morning baking and now have a 'self-saucing' chocolate pudding cooking in the slow cooker and it smells delicious but I have to wait until it's finished cooking before I can sample it!
I hope you all have a good day especially if you are feeling sad, anxious, or unwell.
