I don't think you are mean either, anakat. Some charity shops will price themselves out of existence soon-and I've worked in one for over 20 years! Better to buy the yarn at Wilkos-you'll get more for your money so can do more knitting.

The baby cardigan is nearly finished. I had to knit all the pieces separately up to the armholes then join them together for the yoke. I'd nearly finished and counted the stitches to see how many more decreases I had to do but was two stitches out. Eventually discovered that I'd managed to cast on two few stitches for the last bit so had to rip the whole lot back to the armholes and reknit the entire right front. How I managed to make such as mistake I don't know, it's not as if there were lots of stitches to count when I cast on.

anakat, hugs, we are all finding ways of knitting for local to us charities and good causes so that we can avoid paying for postage, and it makes perfect sense to buy wool at wilkinsons where it is cheaper so you get more to knit with. you are not mean think of all the time you put into knitting for others. time is precious and you are giving them a very valuable amount of yours.

F1 hugs where ever you are hiding, i hope you are enjoying some crafting time

THIRZAH, really annoying when something like that happens isnt it. ive been out by a couple of stitches like that and its so frustrating ripping it back GRR.

roaming, told my postoffice guy what you said and he was amazed the french xray everything - hed never heard it, but said we arent far behind questioning what is and trusting people to give honest answers

    Hi everyone

Jean - we have brilliant sunshine here today and it would be a lovely day for drying the washing but we have two viewings and I don't think anyone wants to see our unmentionables blowing in the wind!

Chalky - try these people for sending parcels abroad http://www.parcelsplease.co.uk/ They were recommended to me and I have used them a few times. I think they would be more reliable than Royal Mail.

I have posted off presents to my DGS1 (14 years old next week) and his sister, DGD1 (11 just three days after), and hope and pray they don't go astray. It's hard enough looking for things that are light to save on postage, without having to worry about them reaching their destination. I do hope your DD2 gets her pressies in the end. Love the new hedgie names! I shall try and think of some, too. How about Mr Bristle, and Spike Quilligan?

Ginnyknit - I hope you enjoy all those trips even if they do tire you out.

F1 - hope you are enjoying your week.

Anakat - you are not mean at all. We all want our money to stretch as far as possible.

Mrs Moneypenny - hope you are enjoying your knitting weekend.

    Elaine - thinking of you.

Mrs Twins - how lovely to get a mention in the DM, and well deserved, too. I did draw the line when they said that knitting is on the increase due to a few 'celebs' doing it. I hardly think that is true, and I cannot believe intelligent people can be influenced in that way.

Well, I have started another crochet blanket, this time in orange, peach, and turquoise. I found a lovely stitch pattern on Crochet Spot; it's soothingly easy to do and gives a lovely texture.

I went shopping today and, although I wasn't looking for buttons, I found some in lovely citrus colours that I couldn't resist. I really don't need buttons because I have loads but they are so tempting, aren't they?

Well, our first viewing today has finished and we are waiting for the next one at 5pm, then we have another one tomorrow at 9 am, so surely, surely, someone will make an offer?!

ive sort of got distracted back stitching a chequered pattern onto a little dress panel, so far im about 1/2 way through and i think its taken me more than 2 hours:o - im working on a decoupage stocking with the wizard of oz characters on, im on the last character (Dorothy) and she has the most detail and work on her, im using a beading needle as there are lots of litlte beads and sequins to sew on so i need decent daylight to thread my needle, im hoping to get the sqaures all back stitched on before the light and my eyes fail then i can move on to knitting tonight.

Oh, Mrs Moneypenny - sounds like you have a lot to get through. I hope you managed to get it all done before darkness fell!

Both viewings today went well; the couple who have viewed before were here for well over an hour, then stayed outside looking around for ages, so we are trying not to get our hopes up too much. Another viewing tomorrow, then we will be able to relax and treat the house like a home again!

Hi all Ive had the worst week of my life and now sitting here at 12.06 thought I would pop on and have a chat.
I hope you are all ok and those that are poorly or troubles I hope you are good soon xxx

My dear lovely husband was admitted to hospital yesterday with Orbital Cellulitis after travelling back from overseas on Wednesday. He spent 8 hours in A&E on Wednesday night when they didn't know what was wrong - one side of his face was swollen and eye terribly swollen and completely shut and severe head pain. He was sent home in the early hours of the morning and told to return to eye clinic next day - they spotted the seriousness of his problem and immediately started on IV antibiotics and admitted him

Sadly on Thursday night he was transferred to cardiac unit for an irregular heart rhythm and treated - back to Head and neck unit this morning and then face operated on this afternoon and evening. He has had eye operated on, polyp removal (again! he only had them done a year ago) and some other work he also was not responding well in theatre so had a chest xray where they found he had a chest infection.

Ive been hysterical and have never felt so close to losing him orbital cellulitis can be so dangerous Im so scared about his sight as well as this can be affected.

On top of this not only did A&E not pick up on this the different departments have not properly spoke to me and will not give me any info for two days as apparently "im not his next of kin" or "maybe he does not want you to know anything as his health is confidential" - Ive spoken to him briefly where he stated he repeatedly asked them to call me in the night when he was taken to cardiac unit and they didn't (they have now apologised and said someone should have phoned but they had the wrong number for me!) I broke down this afternoon to them and said 48 hours ago my husband left the house for an eye appointment and never came back - he has been in cardiac care and is now on the operating table will someone please tell me what is going on!

Im sorry to unload all of this but I know you ladies so well that you will think of him for me

I cant remember where my needles are or my last craft project

As I said to you Ive only ever been without him three times in 19 years and now in one week we have been parted twice

Anyway Im sorry Ive not been in and also Jean sent a lovely email the other day and I was so rude and didn't reply - lovely Jean Im so sorry

Will update you when I have more news - hugs J xxxxx

Sending you a ton of love and prayers for your DH F1 - what a blooming nightmare for you all. Let's just all hope that now he is actually in the right department and being treated properly - do not despair J..... we are all here for you. You don't need to worry about ever sending me an ME-MAIL - you daft sausage - you had far more important things to be doing, see if you kin find the needles and the yarn tho - they could be important!

Just popped in while having some brekkie and saw your posting Jaqui.

MEGA hugs for you ((HUGS)) and ds of course. You must be worried sick. It`s bad enough for those of us who can go to A&E with loved ones but when you are housebound it must be h*llish.
And as for not telling you what is going on, who is on his records as next of kin if not you ? Have they got that wrong as well as the wrong phone number ?

Hopefully he`ll be on the mend soon and home with you so you can spoil and pamper him.

Do keep us posted on his progress and take good care of yourself.
Lots of love from all of us.
