Hello one and all and a hug tucked in.
Lots of lovely projects on here. I love the slipper socks jean
And that wrap around looks wonderful pippa.

Kathy every finger is firmly crossed. Go 2014 go,go,go.

Ginny I do hope Dh feels a little brighter soon and yes it really is important to look after yourself. The Carer need special extra care!

shazlosing pets is such a sad thing. Hugs to you. I hope you are feeling a little stronger following that diagnosis before Christmas.

f1 I hope you are managing to feel positive and maybe planning another little trip " out of the front door" I bet your stripes are looking fabulous.

psso little J sounds a real character. Hope you are taking care of yourself too. Any news on next step to return to full health?

Well I have been quietly stitching the Monster quilt. Toe is much better but I had to go out this morning and probably ( definitely ) walked further than I should of as it's aching now. So it's foot up this afternoon. Monster Wuilt pictures on my blog if anyone wants a peek.

Succumbed to temptation and bought some sale wool on Black Sheep . Soft Merino .. It's gorgeous.

I had not realised it but is all the shades of the seashore. My favourite place really.

Hmmmm, has postie not been yet ??

Sent off a bakers dozen (I think) of flatties on Monday at 2.30 first class. Thought you would have them by now. :(

Maybe they haven`t managed to scale Hadrian`s Wall.

Hospital appointment tomorrow so will see what they say.

Ventured out with DD and J today but I think I might have overdone it a bit. Had a nice reviving snooze when we came home though, so perked up nicely. Shopping does take it out of you -- and your purse.

Had to go into the wool shop for new needles, couldn`t find my old 7`s anywhere , probably languishing in the back of a cupboard with something unfinished on them, so bought some new 4.5`s ;) Not quite ready to use them but at least I`ll have them handy when I need them. DD was most impressed that I didn`t buy wool -- little J had asked her what colour of wool Gramma was away to get and was it for a hat for him ? :rotfl:He knows, you know. I did pick up some nice soft James Brett stuff............maybe next time after some more `de -stashing`

Off to put the hottie in and have a nice big mug of horlicks, well I`m trying to steer clear of the Maltesers, so next best thing.

    Night night.

havent got any at the mo but can easily start doing some, ill consider that my next project. ive only got a scrappy scarf on the go at the mo, and that just to use oddments up while i think of what to knit.

hope everyone is well, i seem to have hit the new year doldrums, everything suddenly feels 'flat' if you know what i mean.

strange unsettling week last week, got flagged down last weekend, when we were driving near home to be told a friend DH had known from school had died suddenly.:( then one night this week i got the strangest text from another friend of many years basically saying thank you and good bye  it took me a couple of days of texting to get him to text again as he wouldnt answer his calls, we were really worried so was another friend who got the same text. anyway he finally answered his phone to DH last night and everything ok, hes just had a bit of a bad new year and was going to cut ties with everyone but now its normal service has been resumed. ill be walking on eggshells round him for a while now incase he does it again.

anyway hugs and good wishes to all i hope everyone is as well as they can be and you all have something in your day to make you smile.

Good morning everyone and lots of New Year life tucked in.

mrs moneypennyi am so sorry you are certainly having a strange and bit sad start to the New Year. How sad about the one friend and worrying about the other. I would have been really worried by that text too.thank you so much for the offer of some hedgies. That is really kind of you.

Off to the dentist this morning and then the post office with a little parcel for Cambodia. So glad the little things are going to such a marvellous need.

Kathy hope all our crossed fingers have helped. We can all celebrate when its done, I for one sit here praying for you as I know how you must feel stuck and frustrated.

Psso good luck today. I think with you online name you actually have to buy wool :rotfl: its just wrong if Ginnyknit doesnt too.

Chalky, thank you for taking the time out. When I sent the sewing kits to the Gambia they gave them out as prizes at school for achievment and had a sewing day once a week when everyone got together and mended their clothes - I often think about that, its humbling that people dont have the things we all take for granted. I will get Annie to send me some pics from this trip and put them on my blog for you all to see.

We are attempting a short trip out today, quick visit to help a friend then pick OH's mobile up from repair. Dont think we will be out long as my back is very bad but Oh seems a little brighter today so we might have lunch out.

Mrs MP sending hugs, tense times for you, be good to yourself xxx

I AM NOT A HAPPY BUNNY

This project started last weekend - Id id a tension square on the knitting machine, I also did a trial - which turned out big enough to fit a doll....... I re-did all the sums and thought I had it cracked. I did another tension square checked all the sums abd then spent two days turning out the above - brain cell is aching and I am NOT even going to bother with stitching it up (the sleeves would fit me) nor for that matter will I be doing the ribbing for the neck, front or bottom........THE SURPRISE is the BSJ is now going to turn into a FROG - GRIBBIT - GRIBBIT - GRIBBIT
I am chucking the pattern out and I will re-assigne the yarn to some of those lined slippers.......... I will NOT be revisiting this pattern at any future date! There got that off my chesticles so I feel much better now.
Hope you are having good trip out ginnyknit, Mrs Moneypenny - what a worry when you get messages like that - keep an eye on him.
Chalky - I just found ANOTHER hedgie pattern CROCHET ONE link below - what do you think - before I go and make an attempt at that one (don't think I have any fuzzy yarn left for the knitted ones but will have a hunt)

    http://drunkenauntwendydesigns.wordpress.com/2012/03/20/free-pattern-tuesday-helga-the-hedgehog/

PSSO - put soddin socks on - I believe??? not pass slip stitch over!
I really hope you are fine today - will wait to hear what is to happen next

Mioliere - hope you have some sunshine today.
All you missing in actions and all you lovely lurkers - sending you all a huge big cuddle - pop in now and again.

Away to start something on that knitting machine - best I give it a bit of a clean/oil first tho'

jeanit is usually me throwing my Teddy out of the cot and circular needles at the wall etc. Oh and swearing at the sewing machine. So sorry things are not going to plan. This must be a mega frustration as I have never known you give up.... Hmmmmmm I think the stretched out picture looks like a cat waiting for taxidermy !!!
Thanks for link to. Crochet hedgie .. I will have a look.

psso Postie has been and delivered a wonderful bundle of hedgies. thank you so,so much. The hedgehog hospital will be so glad of them. Thinking of you so much as you have your appointment today. The gentlest hug to you and the family!

Well little parcel ready for Cambodia but lost Ginny's address ... Dope, double dope. It's here somewhere!Ginny hope back is better soon and you and DOH enjoyed your trip our.

Give the girl a prize ! My dear Jim used to yell that at me when I sneaked my ICY feet next to him in the bed. Have to use the hotty now, at least it doesn`t moan at me.
Had the hopsical appointment, on a waiting list for further treatment. Wait and see.

Mrs m-p, what a horrible week for you. Squish some wool and you`ll feel better maybe.

Jean, I can sympathise with the frustration. Thought I`d give Pippa`s wrap a go this morning. Now, either I can`t count or I didn`t read the pattern properly - both distinct probabilities :D - or my mind was toooo taken up with dreadful thoughts,
but I had to rip it out 4 times, and that was only the first two rows  Chucked it in the bag in disgust, will maybe revisit it later...........or I might just cast on another hedgie or two.Mindless enjoyment that one.

Having another attempt at decluttering my bedroom, like painting the Forth bridge that one...............
Might have to buy some more boxes, mind you bin liners would be cheaper eh ?

Off to give Batman a cuddle.....
