Hi everyone, hope you are all tucked up nice and cosy.
Woke at 5.45 this morning with howling wind battering the rain against my window, never had that happen before in the 22 years we`ve been here. Now the wind is whirling snow about. Was going to light the fire when I brought the little man back from nursery, but I think we might be better to wait and see if the wind dies down, otherwise the smoke will be blown back down the chimney and we`ll be like a pair of kippers !
Little J and his mummy put up the Christmas tree last night while I was at work, not bad for a 3 year old. Wee bit over dressed in some bits but heigh ho at least that`s a job less I have to do.
Got to get the bits and pieces for the windowsill etc hauled down from the top of the wardrobe and then they will be happy hopefully.
F1, I was delighted to read that you had been out shopping ! You keep up the good work girl. Little and often, don`t try to do too much at once. xx
Jean, I`m sure I saw the smoke coming from your sweatshop, socks galore, definitely a change from snowpeeps and hats.
Well, `Edna Bucket` is hovering around but I`m hoping that if I ignore her she`ll push off pronto..............fingers crossed.
Stay warm and cosy if the weather is pants, lots of crafting time.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

Psso tell Edna to get on her bike and have extra hugs with little J, Im sure that will help. I know when Im down (though not black dog, luckily) I make my way to my little man and it helps. DD rang the other day and said he had used up all the hugs and kisses I had left for him and needed recharging, so I dragged Oh over there and filled in the order right away
Its horrible here so am doing a bit of cross stitch and snuggling under a blanket.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
my turn for the hairdresser this morning, so I need to get a wiggle on
Edna pops in now and again - but like the rest of you I chuck her out, so far it's working......... socks yesterday were a total disaster - bit lack of concentration but I will get back to them again sometime.
Have a terrific day everybody squishy cuddles sent to you all

Hello one and all and some December love tucked in.
Please know that I think of you all every day and thank my lucky stars to have stumbled upon this thread so many years ago. I send my love to each and every one of you.
I am a funny person. Why do I have to have everything ordered. I am trying really hard to stay calm, focused and somewhat in control. BUT I was lucky enough to inherit my Mums hot trolley when she took her cooking to heaven with her. Don't we miss our loved ones at this emotive time of year!
Anyway I only really use the hot trolley at Christmas but my goodness it does take the strain of keeping everything hot.
So my day has gone like this. Early phone call from a friend to say she would love to come and stay for 3 days next week!!!!! Well of course I said "how wonderful" and then she said she was bringing her new partner as she is dying for us to meet him. Well, calmness went out of the window and I decided I had to get a wiggle on.
So out came the trolley for a polish. There on the top were the bibs I had started to make months ago. So out came my willfull sewing machine and off I set. Making bibs really helps with Christmas preparations !!!!! Not.
Anyway. I also packed the last things for posting including the stocking for DD2 who will still be docked in Barcelona. Oh! That meant I had to finish the wrist warmers I had finished for her. Hook, hook hooketty hook.
Oh and there on the side was the fruit soaking I had started last night following Our Jeans instructions .Cake cooked but I don't know why the outside is so crusty! It is not burnt at all. The Sporty One daren't complain but he was checking his teeth afterwards.
Then I thought I had better get the family graves done in our village church yard as it might rain tomorrow til Christmas. So went traipsing off with my secatuers and ribbon.
But among all this craziness the postman arrived and totally made my day. I am still overwhelmed and absolutely thrilled with what landed on my doormat.
In the back of my mind I knew that a little pair of gloves were waiting to be made for William. Hedgehogs as they are his absolute favourite. Now patterns and me are not happy bedfellows and usually I end up chucking the offending article at the wall. But there in the parcel were the most adorable, perfect pair of hedgehog gloves .anakat you are an absolute star and I can not thank you enough. I feel so happy that I have them all ready for his dear little hands which will be freezing after the Dubai sunshine. It really is the best Christmas present I shall have.Thank you, thank you, thank you.
What a long post, but I can't end without saying three cheers F1 fantastic news. Slowly, slowly catchee monkey.
Great news also about driving tests, socks, getting Christmas decs up and cuddling little ones.
As for Edna tell her there is definitely no room at the proverbial Inn and send her on her way.
So, tomorrow will be much calmer. I might try to make mince pies. I hope they don't turn out crusty too !!
Love to you allTry and do a good deed every day.0
