Finished 2 cushions this afternoon for comfy ancient ercol sofa in conservatory. They are side cushions (the old ones literally fell apart), looks much more civilised now. Wont be sitting there for a while as we don't keep it heated, only when visitors expected.

Sitting here with frozen toes in spite of ch and 'living flame', so I may 'rest' big sweater, while I make scarflette and slippers, they will co-ordinate, more for reasons of economy and using up stash, than style :rotfl:Keep warm and dry everyone, forecast is so mixed here, who knows what we will wake up to tomorrow?

Roamin - ahhhh tattie scones..... with a nice runny fried egg over them and yes the Aberdeen buttery, local delicacy. Lots of fat and salt in them and delicious for breakfast with butter and jam -or syrup, dairylea or melted cheddar, the variations are endless. Yum.

Ds has test on the 3rd Dec. got it changed but am puzzled because when we originally booked it the first available date was the 12th. Checked again on Saturday past and he could have had today, tomorrow 3rd,4th,5th,or 6th Dec. These dates have miraculously appeared. OK today and tomorrow could have been cancellations, but all the others - not just one slot each day 5 or 6.

DD seems to be doing fine, her instructor has told her she will soon be able to to drive my car with me sitting shotgun -pass me the valium please.

Very cold here tonight, forecast is snow tomorrow. Hope not. Mind you it means I can put on the coal fire and sit there all snuggly and cosy with my knitting and watch ancient videos. Got a video player off freecycle at the weekend, our one had started spitting out the tapes (think maybe a little chap had been posting things into it and wrecked it) so all the tapes DS and DD had when they were small have been looked out and we are working through them. Blast from the past indeed.

Mrs mp - nice scarflette and amazing cake, did it taste good too ?

Oooo DD has just called through that someone on facebook says it is snowing in Buckie, about an hour or so away from here, so it looks like it will arrive overnight....brrrr.

Away to put the hottie in my bed, can`t sleep if the bed is cold.

    Take care everyone.

I am thinking of going on a little shopping trip tomorrow but if its very cold may well carry on hibernating. I have my first warm winter coat for about 7 years so at least will be well wrapped up if I venture out.

Shropshire lass, I have been sewing the edging on a patchwork quilt for Mum for xmas so have been quite warm the last few nights - shame I have finished it and am on squares so unless I go very fast and crochet them together :D

Sounds like we are all keeping busy at the moment except Chalky who is simply enjoying being with that gorgeous little man having lots of sqeezily hugs as my Dd used to say. She rang my Mum while Dgs was in the bath tonight and when they had finished chatting my said ask him to say 'bye bye nanna' and lo and behold he did - first time - my Mum rang me right away as she was so happy. We now have a start on the potty training too, all morning at school and he used the toilet! Autistic children are very hard to train but as usual he has decided its time so is giving it a go.

Good morning. Early wake up here in Dubai so grabbing a few quiet minutes before the sweet illy hugs begin. He comes wandering in to wake us every morning... At a very civilised time I must add. Our son hoes off to work very early and we are all happy to sleep as long as he will let us!

Yes,I am indeed having a lovely time reading, playing, sharing ,cuddling etc. Best of all seeing him making such amazing progress with his swimming. My Doh was a P.E teacher in his past life and has a lovely way with little ones. Yesterday he took all his water aids off and he was soon jumping in off the side, going under and bobbing up. They were so pleased with each other. Willuam kept shouting."I can do it" and " -again" lovely memories. Gonna be hard to leave next Monday. But they are coming home for Christmas this year so won't be long 'til we see them again.
Thanks you lovely lot for all your encouraging comments.

    Hi everyone

I have just done the update, which you can find here:
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhOgVamMPLdkdDdKVTJ6UWRPLThuejdDaDI0alQ1NVE&usp=drive_web#gid=0

I am sorry that I am late doing it (again) but things have been hectic here (what's new?) and the time has just run away with me. I've been doing a lot of online work as well as helping DH with jobs in the house. We have a viewing tomorrow, so I've spent today trying to make it look like a show home, which is difficult when DH keeps leaving sanding dust and tools everywhere. I shall be so glad when he gets some work to do in someone else's house!

I hope you are all feeling well; I will catch up with you all tomorrow when I hope things here will have calmed down a bit.

It was a glorious day here, blue sky and sunshine, snow on the Welsh hills, and most of the trees down here in the Marches still covered with golden leaves.

Went to my first 'Christmas' get-together this year (more end-of-the-year), several of the 'girls' will be losing their jobs in the new year, but quite philosophical about it, looking forward to spending time looking after their aged parents and grandchildren. The rest of us are already retired.
While I was in town popped into wool shop and rescued :o some beautiful blue and purple chunky to make an extra pair of slippers for DiL.

Those chocolate bars look too good to eat anakat, then I googled Post Pals and realised what it was about, more about the smile when someone looks at them? What an amazing idea.:T It is going to take a while for me to catch on to what you are all doing here.
