Cold here too today. wore my new wristwarmers for the first time and they did make a difference.
I've three lots of knitting on the go at the moment-socks for me from some lovely wool that DD2 gave me for my birthday, a hat also for me and a scarf for DH which I can only knit while he is out of the house.0 -
:hello: It is my daughter's birthday today so I can now show you what I have been working on for ages and why there was a lack of charity things
I had some left over squares so I made my friend a yoga mat/blanket0 -
Wow - Shropshirelass - Thirsah & Anakat - you have all been busy
loving those colours on the daughters blanket, what a lovely yoga mat too.
Up early as big black dog is poorly - not settling at all overnight so its easier just to keep her company - perhaps she will eventually fall back to sleep and I can scoot off for a "siesta". Due to go shopping today - no matter how cold it might turn out to be - we do have to eat. Will go and pop the kettle on and get myself a cuppa and my book.
Ye all keep warm in the chilly blast that is going around, cuddles and love - see you all later

Hello all from the cold and wintry north. Had some snow yesterday but it`s gone again. Now we have bitter wind and pouring rain, snow might develop later - it`s bloomin cold enough for it.
Been keeping cosy by blitzing the pantry -it`s next to the tumble dryer so evey time I step off the stool to put rubbish in the bin, I get a nice warm blast of air.
Michael Ball has been keeping me company and taking my mind off the job in hand. It was going to be Shania Twain or Abba, but they have gone awol. Wonder whose bedroom I should search ?
I think the task for the weekend will be the three display units in the living room. They get a pre-Christmas clearout, everything washed, polished and put back before the tree and decorations go up. It`s the only time anything serious gets done as we have to move the furniture round to make room for the tree. This is the time of year when things which have been missing for ages suddenly turn up (and I usually manage to load up the coppers jar a bit too);)
If that`s taken care of, DD can put the tree up whenever she likes. Have delegated that job to her for the past few years as I
haven`t been in the mood to do it myself.
Well, I just stopped for a quick cuppa and a catch up so had better get back to it.
Meant to say that blanket and yoga blankie are beautiful. Have never tried the mitred squares....yet,but they are very effective.
Take care all and stay warm.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

Very cold here today had some sleet this morning and real persisting down rain on and off for the rest of the day.
We were out almost all day but it was a lovely happy and chatty type of day, went to OH's cousins first, then to see MrsTwins and met MrsTwins he had a day off so it was lovely to meet him at last. Must tell you a lady on rav has made the most beautiful and unusual square I have ever seen it's a cathedral, MrsTwins only received it this morning so I don't know if it's on there yet but it's worth popping over to have a quick look
anakata - your blanket and yoga mat are gorgeous, great colours and I love the jackets on the choccy bars very clever
jean - have you managed a quick siesta yet? hope big black dog is better now

Weather good for knitting here tooListening to the wind whistling between the houses
Mrs M I keep looking at that tiger cake it is so beautiful, what a useful skill to have.
psso I do something like that too, I clean my dresser in December, wash china etc, a lot of which comes from family long passed, gives me a nice feeling of connection with Nanny, Mum, granddad (his old tobacco jar), MiL etc For the rest of the year, let the dust lie on that dresser, I'm afraid!
chalky75 enjoy the warm weather! Making me long for DD and SiL in Cape Town.
Cuddle up and keep warm everyone.0
