I didnt make the lion - Kinsey did it for me as a friend wanted it for her son and Kinsey kindly offered! I would never have managed it!

  • afternoon ladies, you have obviously all gone to the seaside to eat rock and cake as its the bank holiday, hope the sun is out for you all. Well after two days of trying to find out why the photo's were no longer on the wooligans page and trying all sorts of remidies, I log in this morning and they are all there including the new ones. They must have been caught in the twiglette zone (a more friendly place no doubt than the twighlight zone).

I am stuck with a huddle of hedgies, dear foster daughter bought me 4 balls of the eyelash after she saw the pink ones, so I shall endeavour to get it all knitted into hedgehogs for the kids christmas school fete along with the snowmen - the good news being I don't need to stuff, sew or finish any of them she will, also no need to post them so saving me a bit of dosh the bad news being I have to get them out of the way quickly so I can get back to some proper knitting. I will investigate the patterns over the weekend and see what I can come up with.

Hope you all have a great peaceful, relaxing day

    Hello all,

love and hugs to those who need them.
Had a lovely day being spoilt by ISOMs Mum yesterday (although sudden absence from the library was a bit stressful and I'm having a quiet day lying down today as although new meds have arrived top early to say if they are making a difference yet) and saw the amazing lion that Kinsey made and the lovely ravelry gift.

aww sorry it was stressful for you seakay - can understand why sudden vanishing is a bit odd and worrysome though! Bless her she feels much better today but still quite slow but I said that its no wonder - her poor brain has effectovely had a firework set off three times, body all bruised and poor tongue very sore. She is definately more herself today though which is good as its upsetting when she is "vacant" for lack of better expression!
I am going to attempt to make the lion dreadlocks into some kind of stress ball seal anenome kind if thing as its very comforting to smoothe!!
Todays task is to make a doorstop from my lovely swap fabric as mum keeps hurting toe on the large hunk of slate that is there at the moment. seakay would you like it for your garden as a kind of sculpture?
Got three soppy, dvd's and going to snooze and chill! heaven! Going out for lunch tomorrow and then to a flower show on Monday if you want to come seakay you would be most welcome!

Hi everyone - I've been busy this morning and this is the first chance I've had to pop in here.

I read the link about Lou and couldn't find any recent news on there - the posts I read on the forum were from 2009. I hope I haven't missed anything. I know that Lou has emailed me twice this week (about the spamming problem I had), so I assumed that she was alright.

Kinsey - the lion is gorgeous. Well done!

Seakay - thanks for the info about the cat blankets. I've started a second one now.

Jean - glad you sorted out the photos on Wooligans. Sometimes when I'm on there it doesn't let me in, so I think it has an occasional glitch. I love your snowmen!

I hope the weather is good for the bank holiday in the UK. I shall take it a bit easy on Monday - it makes DH laugh but I always think of a UK bank holiday as something for the British ex-pats, too! That means that, with the thirteen bank holidays they have over here, and the eight in the UK, I have twenty one a year!

The sun is shining here and, after an overcast start, it's lovely now. DH has been pottering about the place to have a break from the intense plastering. Today, he's making some shelves that I've been asking for for ages. I have a huge teetering pile of books on a blanket box in an alcove in the sitting room, and he's putting two shelves in the alcove for me to stand them on, so that will help make the place tidier and make it easier to look through my books.

Hope you are all having a good day.

    Afternoon everyone

Prfungi, thank you for the patterns, I can’t wait to start a couple of pairs of those.
Mioliere, had an email from you, but deleted it since you’ve been having trouble with the spam.
Pippa, so sorry to hear about your MIL. Hugs and prayers on their way for you and your family.
ISOM, hope your mums meds are sorted now.
Kinsey, what a lovely lion! It does look like a lot of hard work though.
Roamin, lovely snowmen, another must do on my list.

I started a couple of teddies this week for Lou, along with looking for wool for wristwarmers for Shaz, and done more hats for Crumpsall Hospital.. Still rippling and now have a total of 24 colours in it. I’ve been trying to get in the garden in between showers to take cuttings for next year. I bought a few new fuchsias this year, so have to save those too. I don’t know where all the hours go, never mind the days!
Anyway, love and hugs to everyone

  • Lou has been laid up on the couch most of this week....she stood on a broken glass in her kitchen and ripped her foot open. Also did any of you see the bit about the babes in incubators on channel 4 last night, Lou supplies the hospital with premie things.

if you are in the UK you can get it on some play back scheme. I have asked DS to stick it onto a DVD for me
Kathy - no bank holidays in France......only French holidays LOL, don't know how you managed to swing that one either, must see if I can give it a go on Monday - will let you know if I succeed. Will do my update tomorrow as I am still doing some hedgies and snowmen I HAVE TO STOP BOTH SOON!

    Hi Jean

Yes, I really must stop calling the French ones 'bank' holidays. After all, they have one of those every Monday, don't they? Poor Lou - as if she hasn't got enough on her plate, poor thing. I saw that programme last night - such tiny babies; it's amazing they pull through but it's all down to the dedication of the staff, the equipment and, of course, the will of the babies.
