    hugs to all,

can promise the seaside is NOT a nice place to be today... sun was out earlier for a bit but its raining hard now, very cold and blowin a hooley!

Glad to say i am feeling much more like my normal self now, still on the pills but the pain has lessened a lot and now i am just sore though istill cant crochet or write. I took a very slow walk with son to library yesterday (wiped me out and i catnapped after, think thats the pills) but i got a couple of cook books out to try and find new ideas for son's lunchbox for school next week. He is 9 1/2 and eats more than me but is skinny as a rake and its hard to keep any weight on him so internet ideas i found and government guidelines were nowhere near enough :-( thinking about pasta salads, frittata, ham/ cheese tarts, flapjacks, etc and found a lush sounding banana and ginger cake that apparantly improves with keeping and will sit happily in a tin for up to 2 months (with icing drizzle on top). any other ideas or recipes or suggestions welcome?

Also got a new crochet book from library called 'Crochet in no time' by Melody Griffiths, contains over 50 patterns which i thought was good value if it was bought rather than borrowed and has some very nice patterns - including an old-fashioned cristening gown, bonnet and booties set; a girls ripple long-sleeved swing jacket; a duffel-style kids jacket; 2 long-line cardie/ jackets for women and an attic24 style round cushion (not in such inspiring colours but a good basic pattern). Has anyone else seen this book? Got it? What did/ do you think of it? Made any patterns from it?

Got so frustrated today that nearly finished stripping the cast-iron fireplace in my back-yard while it was not raining or just drizzling... all left-armed! amazing how ambidextrous one can become when stubborness and frustration kick in. Definately dont have the patience to relearn how to crochet or knit left-handed however. Will post a pic of fireplace when i get it done, cant wait to replace manky gas fire in living-room with open fire again (had one in last house and miss it terribly), thats if i can fight my way past the 6 cats to get anywhere near it when they discover its pleasures, that is, lol.

  • Evening all! Well day didnt quite go as planned! Went to church and then lunch with friends and mum had another fit, thankfully only a small one but a fit none the less so rang dr, had appt and into hospital again she goes! smaller, nicer hospital with free parking but further away than the main one. Left her reading happily at 9.30...she was upset that she couldnt give me breakfast in bed for my bday but Ill take things up there instead so we can open them on her bed! Told the dr that they need to sort it properly this time as its really getting her down plus Im worried she will injure herself...
Im sure he will love the lion kinsey - if he doesent Ill get it back cos I loved it!! Do really appreciate all the hard work!
Black crow hang in there! Wow 6 cats is alot although at one time I had 7 here and its a 1 bed flat, although it was cos one had kittens!
    miol sorry loius hadnt reemerged...

Good Morning to one and all --- So many people have their hands overflowing with problems big and small so lots of gentle hugs x

Just popping on as we have a busy day ahead --- although DD2 is still in the land of nod revelling in her first Monday morning in bed for ages.

Thought you might like to see the family ready for her leaving party-- Fancy Dress of course with a theme of around the world

All went well and there were some fantastic costumes and her friends were brilliant.

We had 10 for lunch yesterday and leave to go to Heathrow tomorrow with her flight departing at 8.00 a.m.

I am just doing some more purses for Operation Christmas child as I don't have to think about them.

Lou emailed me back to say the parcel had arrived --What a relief!

Have good days or as good as you can x

Chalky - you all look fantastic! I love the horse, too! I hope that saying goodbye to DS2 won't be too difficult but I suspect there'll be more than a few tears! Please wish her well from me - I'm sure it won't be long before your posts on here are full of all her adventures!

ISOM - (((hugs))) to your Mum; I hope she has a good day today.

In a rush but will pop back later!
