all those patterns look lovely, so hard to decide which pair to knit for who.
im trying to busy myself putting a crocheted edge round the green squares ive made into blanket for youngest DS, has anyone ever tried to rip down a corner to corner knitted blanket:mad: the cast on/off at the end of the row creates a lock so you have to pull the yarn through, ive rippped down half a 200grm green square i made him last year to re make the edging of the crochet one im doing him now i think the second half will go in the bin and ill just buy a new ball.
taken up reading again i found the folow up book to the friday night knitting club that i read last year its called knit two (by kate jacobs)im finding i can get into a book to take my mind off things.

PTB you have extra hugs from me so sorry to hear you had such a sad 'anniversary' to face yesterday.

hugs and good wishes to all

Just to make your day SPECIAL....everybody have some. Nightmare here I am on IE as the firefox I have been using is not showing pictures for me, so I need to go investigate why not. Finishing off some slipper socks for my dear wee sis - she has the coldest of feet, then I am back onto some more snowmen. Hope to call back after lunch have a great day

    Hi everyone

Pippa - hope MIL is OK.

Jean - what a great picture of some really cute snowmen! They make me feel all Christmassy! Hope you can sort your Firefox out - it's the one I use (I find IE really slow!).

Pam - what a lovely selection of patterns; now we are really spoiled for choice on here! They will all make lovely Christmas pressies!

Mrs Moneypenny - that unripping sounds like a nightmare; I hope you get it sorted!

Well, we've had a lot of rain for most of the day but it is finally starting to brighten up now - just a bit too late to put the washing out on the line, of course! Still, I managed to drag the ironing board out and get all the ironing up to date.

I didn't sleep too well last night which I think is down to the painting that has been going on in the bedroom making me feel a bit snuffly, plus it was very warm which didn't help. I just had to have a nap on the sofa after lunch and now I feel a lot better! All the painting in the bedroom was finished yesterday, so I hope I sleep better tonight.

Anyway, hope you are all having a good day.

Just got back and thought I'd pop in while I drink my coffee.

Well today has not been the best of days....we have been to the hospital and seen the Doctor, it's not good news I'm afraid, MIL's heart and kidneys are slowly failing and there is nothing they can do for her except to make her comfortable, they are trying to stabilise her and are doing more tests, we should get the results on Tuesday.
She sleeps a lot but is so confused when she's awake. I washed her face and combed her hair to try and make her feel a bit brighter.

started some squares for MrsTwins last night, and did a few IS Hats so I may do some more tonight

Well I better sort some Dinner havent eaten much today, OH has fallen asleep on the sofa so will wake him when dinner is ready.
Dont feel like cooking,if fact I dont feel like much of anything really.

Pippa - I'm so sorry that the news about your MIL is not good. The fact that you care so much about her will make a real difference to her, so please take comfort in that.

Aww Pippa really sorry to hear that. How sad for you for you all; can understand why you feel devastated andnot surprised that you dont feel like doing anything! Lovely of you to do hair etc as sure that will make a difference when she is feeling more lucid and comes round feeling clean and tidy. Those things make a huge difference.
Just home from work and definately had that Friday feeling! Saw people I hadnt for a while and went out to lunch with someone I used to work with which was lovely. Home to find mum and seakay chatting happily! They disobeyed orders and went to library and poor seakway was left perplexed when mum just wandered home!! Bless her she does get a bit confused and still not quite right; think overheating is one of her triggers as she started to have a fit when seakay here but it didnt go to a full one thankfully! Am keeping a close eye! Thankfully I rang the epilepsy nurse as we soon realised that the doctor had way overprecribed - telling mum to take 200mg morning and eve when epilepsy nurse said she has recc 100 and 100 and confirmed my fear that 400 would make mum v poorly. Am debating whether to make a formal complaint as I felt very much that she was not interested in my concerns and made me feel that she thought I was just being a pain and didnt listen when i said that mum just wasnt right. Will probably leave it as know we will be there again at some stage and all other staff have been lovely to date.
Thank you for magic dust and piccy roaming! Will do one in a mo of the gorgeous lion and my ravelry swap! As seakay will confirm its rather delicious!
Talking of delicious thank you for the patterns pfungi! I may well have a go at the top pair! loved them!
may lovely to see you as always!

How sad Pippa. It's horrid when people get so confused as well. can be very upsetting. ((hugs))

ISOM so sorry about your Mum, and how scary about the meds. Good thing you thought to ring the nurse. Lovely swap, and thanks for posting photo.

Gorgeous snowmen roamin, but all that embroidering! You certainly have patience. Worth it though.
  • I have yet again had to give up on the reading of the forum....what's gone has happened I will now concentrate on today,
ISOM hope your ma is OK well done Seekay for grannysitting for you. Love the lion....is that crochet - I would be lost
Pam - not such a good outlook for your MIL, hope things improve when the tests are back, your care and attention will mean tons to her.
Kinsey - I "embroider" using big fat wool two stitches maximum in any one place.....cheat if you can has always been my moto.
It is poured again all day and doesn't look like it will buck up before tomorrow now, so I got a bit damp walking dogs - cowards that they are. Still can't see my pictures on Wooligans but no doubt you all can, seems that the latest update to the firefox has knocked something squiffy, awaiting answers from on high as to how to fix that one.
Off to have a comfy chair and a bit of knitting, back tomorrow.
