  • Mrs Moneypenny - would you like some snowpeeps for any or all of your
charity things? Happy to knock them out - even have time to stitch them up and probably stuff them too then get the Sister in Law to post them to you in the UK??? Or any sewing - I can get into the sweatshop these days.

Roamin, if you like you could post the snowpeeps unstuffed to me and I could make them up and send them on to Mrs MP? Will save on postage - just a thought x

Mrs MP I am making up a couple of special little things for your stall, when do you need them?

Got the results of OH's MRI, nothing showing that is causing the pain :( so its just his back sending pain to his groin. However he all but collapsed in the specialists office and ended up lay down having a check up, at least we were in the right place. He has been resting ever since apart from a quick trip to Tesco's - he went for a cuppa while I raced round. Am busy making cards ready for the 'C' word so that will keep me out of trouble :rotfl:

you really are both so kind, i dont like to ask for help as i know everyone is so busy with all of their own projects and charities
    thank you both VERY much.

sorry they didnt find a reason for the pain your DH is in, i hope something gets sorted out for him soon and there is a way to relieve it. (at least the checks have reassured you both that its nothing else in that area)

Kathy, glad your mums eyes are a lot better and it sounds like she is having a lovely time at her home with the party for one of her friends

  • I am never ever too busy to help others Mrs oneypenny.
.......Ginnyknit what a lovely offer. We are away in the pampervan for the whole of next week, heading south and to the seaside and fingers crossed popping in to see Mioliere (providing we don't get lost) so won't be in touch for a wee while - but will be in touch when I get back.

  • Of the four machines listed above... only the last one comes with the ribber attachment. (SK580 ), although you can do a mock rib using the main beds - to be honest I think you would need a ribber.

I had a swift look round cyberspace yesterday for patterns for dog coats done on the knitting machine - honestly it was on my list of things to do - my bestest buddy Boab is old now and feels the cold in his bones! I have found a couple that I am more than happy to have a go with. link below to look at pattern I am happy to have a go with.... the idea being that I do a tension square then measure my dog the maths to get it to the right size for him and see how I feel when its all assembled. Fancy patterns/slipstitch or tuck stitch at a later stage - right now I would just like to get one off the machine that looks like a dog coat..... will be back when I have further news.

the pattern above is for hand knitting on DK - the knitting machines you have listed above would use coned 4 ply using the ribber to begin then transferring it all to the main knitting bed then back to the ribber towards the end....... oh and stitch up the sides. Will see if I can find any other patterns that might work easier on a machine

came across the site below - will investigate further when I have a bit more time

Good morning lovely ladies............. MAKE TODAY COUNT!
    78.jpg

Thanks for all the info and taking the time to look through everything. I've saved the links to my Favourites too :) The second one in particular will be extremely useful to me - I often get asked to knit for different dog breeds and as I only have my skinny dogs to model for me, I have to wing it and hope they come out the right shape :D

Sooo, next question :o I generally use DK, so what sort of machine do I need to look for to meet my needs?

Sorry no use with knitting machine problems, I have a Bond machine stashed away somewhere which I used years ago but its very basic....wanders off...where the heck did I put it......:D

Roamin, I am happy to help however I can and I like finishing stuff off, I have lots of stuffing left. I am mainly messing about with ideas as I have Christmas under control - all my charity things are done and ready to post.

Mrs MP happy to help see above :D

I have to design and make a simple owl doorstop and write out idiot proof destructions on how to make it so my friends in London can use it in a sewing get together, I think I have the idea ready just got to make it up now.

well you lot have been soooo busy today put me to shame you lot do!

mrs m - those brooches are lovely and I don't think £2 is too much at all, I think they will go like hot cakes xx love the idea of the label as well xx

ginny - I would like to say what a relief that the pain is nothing bad BUT its still pain that cant be resolved and that in itself is terrible (I hope you know what I mean that doesn't sound what I wanted to say but I cant think of the right words). And collapsing as well, sending you both a hug xxx (ps your box is still under my desk I talk to it everytime I come in here :D)

As for knitting machines I did pick up one cheap a few years ago but realised once I had it that you could only do very thin yarn 4ply etc on it I really wanted a machine to do DK/chunky - stupid me thought they were all the same :o anyway upshot was that it didn't work all that well hence I passed it on - sorry probably no good asking me, but lovely to meet you mtbbuxton and hope you keep coming by and updating us with your makes xx

Well I better go and get busy and go by your shining examples :D:D

I feel tonight that my brain and fingers just will not co-operate (happens a lot bit worrying really ........)
    Lots of hugs xxx

Does anyone know anywhere that can use 11cm squares?
I have these left over from a project and would like to find them a home.

Anakat, if you would like me to make the squares up into a blanket for Mrs Twins you can send them to me and I will happily do that for you. If you have a bit of the yarn left I can use it to edge it and add a few contrasting squares from my own stash. xx

Having a quiet day, just pottering as hubby is asleep.

Roamin, have a fab time, dont forget to pack some yarn or hand sewing :D
