It's been very quiet on here; I hope that it's because the sun is shining for everyone!
Well, we had the most wonderful time with Jean and her DH yesterday; she was exactly as I had imagined her from her posts on here and the phone conversations that we have had over the last few years - kind, friendly, cheerful, and ever-so-slightly mad! Her DH is great, too, just as friendly and cheerful; they really brightened up what was a gloomy day here. We enjoyed their company enormously and hope that we get to meet up with them again soon. We hope to veer off our usual course back to the UK on one of our trips, and call in to see them in their own 'habitat'.
She came bearing wonderful gifts, too, of fabric and gorgeous things that she had made, and the biggest raspberry tart that I have ever seen. It should probably have served eight but the four of us demolished it as a pudding after lunch! We also had a guided tour of their 'pampervan', which is perfect for travelling. I loved the crochet blanket on the bed!
As soon as she had left, though, I realised that I had not given her the knitting pattern books that I had set aside for her so, Jean, if you are passing back this way, please call in. If not, I will post them to you but I'm not sure if I have your address. And I hope by now that you have found that little white CT sticker!
Anyway, back to normal here and I have articles to write and an update to do on here which I hope to get done later on today.
I hope the sun is shining for you all; it's lovely here today.

Hello all sorry Ive been missing this week, was nursing poor OH earlier in the week who has had the most horrendous MAN FLU - he isn't one for taking time off work but actually missed two days and spent the weekend and those two days in bed. So it made me behind on all those lady jobs we have to do

Good morning everybody... And love tucked in
I hate it when I have been AWOL for a while as dread missing anyone out if I leave personal comments about you lovely lot.
So please accept that I have loved reading all about your celebrations, meetings and greetings, good times and happy things.
Please also know that I am sorry for some of the not so good things gong on!!!!
Thanks for my welcome back.
Well the Fiesta is on in the village which means the band stringing up at 12.00 midnight and dancing going on til dawn!!!!! For 4 nights. We had a wander down last night at 11.00 and it was wonderful to see all the children dressed up in Flamenco dresses and finery but they were all still eating on very long tables getting ready for the night ahead. The doors are flung open on the houses and settees pulled out. Great fun.
I am totally back to charity work which is great and I have just found this great crochet hat at tern. Really easy and so much quicker than knitting.Try and do a good deed every day.0 -

5 ADULT EARFLAP HATS
(I did them before I left and then did the sewing up while I sat watching the waves)
I THINK SNOWMEN COUNT for the POOR PERSON WHO STITCHES, STUFFS AND FINISHES THEM........... not the Knitting machine which practically makes them all on its own............
Had an absolutely blinding week away folks, ok so I did get to see the lovely Kathy and her DH and great lunch - that tart was for 6 I left the 12 portion one in the shop. Ever since I got your blanket when I was doing the get better malarky it goes everywhere with me ladies - thank you all again for it. I also take a wee black scotty dog that Maytaurus gave me - it barks and wags its tail - and I keep her informed of his travels (it works on batteries so isn't costing me a fortune in food) The seaside was brilliant - we were the only ones on the beach............ so off course we walked for miles and miles - dh ended up with blisters on both heals - it was all his own fault - he wouldn't take his shoes off - what a wet blanket he was. I paddled, built a sandcastle, talked to at least three dogs who were trying so hard to misbehave - their owners were a wee bit put out but I knew that the pups were thoroughly enjoying themselves, got sand into the pampervan - so will need to gut it tomorrow - then make a start on all the washing........came home exactly on the day we had told SIL so we have a really good chance of her letting us off again without the dogs! Will now go and do my signature update then see about reading back the postings.
Missed you all loads and loads -
