Anakat- you need never be embarrassed to pop in here - we love to see you anytime
Sharon - you seem to have landed on your feet there - perfect job for you.
OK I will ask Ginnyknit/Anakat - what's with the cotton rabbits?? Did I miss something really important ?

Doing earflap hats this week - seems I have managed to crack that pattern - so will continue till I use up a bit more stash (there is a whole room full off machine yarn), or get fed up doing them.
    Have a wonderful day folks
    xx

Roamin, Little Cotton Rabbits is a blog and she knits rabbits and they are so popular when she puts them on sale you have to hope to be picked out of a hat. They are the most beautiful little things I have ever seen and I think she sells them for £30:eek: but she cannot go out to work as she has a son who is severely autistic ( and a very big boy now) Anyway as her free time is so limited and her hands suffering from the knitting she has put a pattern for the rabbits on sale :j:j:jand I managed to buy one but am waiting till I have the perfect yarns to knit a couple for a charity and of course, finally, one for me. Anakat loves them too and kindly offered me some yarn. xxx

    Hi everyone

Jean - I love the snowman hats! Your mention of Jean Greenhowe reminded me of all the patterns of hers that I have done over the years. I wish she would do some more but for crochet now that I find knitting so painful. I also love Little Cotton Rabbit's blog, and her rabbits are just gorgeous! I don't know how she does it because, as Ginnyknit says, she has an autistic son which makes for a very challenging life.

Anakat - good to hear from you. I hope life is treating you well?

Well, I've done the update which you can find here:

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhOgVamMPLdkdDdKVTJ6UWRPLThuejdDaDI0alQ1NVE#gid=0

I still haven't used my new sewing machine; I think I keep putting it off in case I'm no good with it, but I have worked hard today to keep tomorrow as free as possible, and will have a go with it then.

I found this this morning and thought it would be handy:

    and part two is here:

Hope you are all having a good day. It's baking hot here and I am just about to do the ironing! Mad dogs and English(wo)men, eh?

    Hi everyone

Jean - I hope you find your bobbin; it can't have gone far, can it?

Mrs Moneypenny - enjoy the cinema. What film are you going to see?

Well, I have finished all my chores so will go and have a play with my new sewing machine. I will report back later; wish me luck!

Lovely and sunny here again today.

  • GGGrrrrr......... Finished the fidget apron but missed the post - so will need to try again tomorrow for that one (never quite certain when Lady Muck will open or close for that matter).
I have hunted the house from top to bottom, got the big magnet out and run it over the whole of the floor in the office (that's where the knitting machine is set up at present) picked up loads of used stables, paperclips and assorted junk but NO BODKIN. Looked on line France want an astonishing 8 euros plus 5 euros to post one out to me....... so have ordered from the UK - get two plus pom pom maker and postage all for the princely sum of 12 squiddies - so no double bed knitting for me until that little parcel arrives. I will stick with the earflap hats then.
Mrs Moneypenny - will have a think about a penguin - it just might be a step too far for me tho' I do enjoy a challenge- Dear Wee Sis has asked for RABBIT and a Christmas Tree - yeah well we will see how that lot pans out as well. Off for a cuppa then I believe I have a great book calling my name.

    Hi all lovely ladies
Sounds like we are all busy bees
sock - you sound completely cut out for "grandma'ness" - hope loads of auntie cuddles being given too! xxx

roamin - any sign of bobbin? - is there anyway I can help buy you the item here and send to you? would it be cheaper? let me know what bobbin and I can look it up? it cant be all that heavy and when I sent you those brooch backs it was no more postage than English small packet so not that dear xxx

ginny - dare I ask if the trophies are no longer living at your house? xxxx

anakat - don't be embarresed Im often missing for ages - its lovely to see you - hope you are ok - me miss you xxx

mrs m - dare not tell hubby that you are on pre-screening life would not be worth living he has been looking forward to this film for errr a couple of years .... His hero is James Hunt (guess what street we live in, on this estate all roads are named after drivers yes you guessed it now what a coincidence is that!) and I have a bit of a claim to fame - hubby saw a clip and it shows a stately home with long driveway - well not far from our house is "Hesketh Hall" where Mr Hesketh lived and we are thinking that some of the filming "may" have been done there it looks very much like it - its hard to see the actual hall from the road as the grounds are vast - if I take a deep breath I will see if I can make it over the road so to speak take some pics and put them up on here. Hesketh Hall now owned by a Russian gentlemen Im led to believe. DS is NOT HAPPY the film has a 15 rating and he wanted to go with dad to see it whoops! xx

Well Im confused which isn't difficult - can anyone help ? what age would a 26-28 inch chest knitted top fit - I want to make a pattern from over on LH as it looks different and easy but need to know the age range for it?

Well sun is shining its still lovely weather - will all that change when they go back to school tomorrow...... I will miss my not so little man when he goes back to school but am hoping will have more time to craft ...... xx

    Hugs to all xxx
