Hi everyone
We've actually had rain in the night; I can't remember the last time it rained because we actually have had a summer, even if it didn't get going until July. It's a bit cooler, too; DH is really pleased because he's been working outside on a roof in the heat for weeks now and found it really draining.
I will get my usual chores (yawn) done then get the sewing machine out and have another go. DH is home all next week so I want to have it up and running competently before he sits there watching me use it!
My poor mum has been having problems with her eyes and it turns out that she has blepharitis, which is being treated with a diluted baby shampoo solution for five days. If that doesn't work the doctor will have to try something else, but he's confident it will do the trick. As if she hasn't enough on her plate, bless her.
My sister is doing as well as can be but is having to deal with a lot of paperwork, and keeps being asked for copies of BIL's death certificate. I know it has to be like that, but it's such a shame it can't all be done when she's had at least a bit of time to grieve. She misses BIL in the evenings most of all, understandably, because she can keep busy during the day and not be thinking of him quite so much. She has the children and grandchildren around often so that must make a difference, although one of her grandsons in particular misses his grandad so much, and can't come to terms with the fact that he is gone forever. He's only eight years old, bless him. The other day he had his bike pinched from outside his house where he had just left it for five minutes to pop in for a drink; he was really upset, obviously, and felt guilty for leaving it outside, but luckily word had got round and a kind lady found it and brought it back.
Anyway, that's all for now. Will pop back later.
Hope you all have a great day.

Sounds like you have found the love of your life Shaz
Anakat have Pm'd you. Is your house full of little cotton rabbits yet? They are so adorable, never thought she would release the pattern and I that I would have a chance to make one! Silly things that mean a lot.
No my house only has one little rabbit 'cos they keep getting kidnaped :rotfl:
Did you see the free dress pattern julie put on Ravely?
Best wishes to all
PS love all the hats0 -
yes I saw the free pattern, unfortunately I have no printer on the laptop at the moment - my PC died
so I am being a very patient Ginny till I can print it out.
Kathy, although its hard for you all at least the family know why the little grandson is sad, which means it isnt all bottled up and coming out the wrong way. I hope your Mums eyes improve soon too.
Dgs goes to try out school today and am sat waiting to find out how it went. Boy are they in for a challengeClearing the junk to travel light

Thanks everyone.
Ginnyknit, you are right. My sister's grandson can and does talk about his grandad; it's just so heartbreaking that, although he has lots of cuddles, no one can take away the pain of knowing that he will never come back. Hope your DGS has a good day at school; it's such a big step!
It's still cooler here today but quite refreshing, too!
Sewing machine is out and has been played with. I'm just about to make another cuppa and have another play! I'm just practicing for now, not trying to achieve anything that can be used!

Quick call in for now. Been rushing about this a.m - chemist for prescription, garage to fill up the car with `motion lotion`, local shop for odds and ends forgotten at the supermarket.
Little J started nursery school on Thursday morning, where has the time gone ? Didn`t want to come home the first day, was allowed to stay a wee bit longer the second.Looks like he will settle in no problem. Got up this morning demanding his new uniform on and was most miffed to find out he couldn`t go today. He`s now going about saying he`s got 2 sleep till nursery again. Bless him, hope he`s always that keen.
Now off out to hold ladder for DS as he`s clearing out and painting the gutters today while it is dry, so keep your fingers crossed that rain doesn`t stop play.
Babysitting duty tonight, so will get plenty of woolly work done once he`s in bed.
Back later.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.
