    Hi everyone

I just wrote a long post and it has disappeared!

Hope you all had a good weekend.

Elaine - I'm so pleased that Little J's first day went so well. My DGD2 starts school today, so she will be on my mind. She is looking forward to it and most of her pre-school friends are in the same class, so I'm sure she will love it. My DGD1 (ten year old) had a trial for the county cricket under fifteen girls squad yesterday; she has to wait to hear how she got on, but I'm hoping she did well. She loves cricket and is really good at it.

Jean - I think a 'miscellaneous' column would be a good idea!

Well, it's definitely getting a bit cooler here, especially in the early mornings and late evenings. As much as I love autumn, I am really not looking forward to winter.

My Mum's eyes seem to be responding well to the treatment so we are hoping that she can avoid antibiotics. I spoke to her last night and she sounded really upbeat, which makes a change because she has sounded a bit low since my not-so-nice sister took her away that week. I did feel sad, though, when I reminded her that it is her birthday this month, because she thinks she'll be 28. I didn't have the heart to tell her that she'll be 83! The Alzheimer's really does play tricks with the mind. I hope she 'feels' 28, though, because that's a good age to be!

I'm hoping to get back to doing some crochet today; my hands have been worse than usual lately due to the tendonitis, but they are feeling a lot better now. I spent yesterday morning sorting out my chest freezer, so perhaps the cold did them good! I did a satisfying job with the freezer, though; it was such a mess and I could hardly find anything in it, but I came up with the idea of using some of those heavy duty bags the supermarkets sell, and using one for meat, one for bread, and so on. They are easy to lift in and out, and they stay open which makes them easy to find what you are are looking for. I was going to fork out for some plastic crates, so I'm glad I was able to save the money; they are expensive here! I also did a stock-take and wrote it all down in a book, but I doubt very much if I will keep that up!

Anyway, I will do the update later on and will call back in and post the link when it's done.

    Have a great day, everyone.

Kathy - sorry to hear that Mum is not great am hoping the eyes will improve over the coming days x Its so sad to hear that the Grandchildren are missing Granddad so much but as others have said you are all so supportive of one another which is what you need at times like this. xx Hope the hand feels better soon too xx

jean - having a better day today? xxx

psso - cant believe J starting school seems like 5 minutes that we were waiting for him to appear - they grow up so quickly. My DS also used to beg to go when he started - dare not say that that did change for a while (but I think that was more the school he was at) - now in secondary school he seems to enjoy it and does not any fuss. xx

Actually I have to say DS scored his first goal last night for the team he plays for - he was so pleased as were we.:D:D

Also need to tell you that my Mum read a report in a newspaper that said too much cleaning (now I cant remember whether it was, leads to or can be a sign of) future alzheimers so she is refusing to do anymore! sounds like a good reason for us to down tools and get on with some fun stuff xx

I feel quite proud of myself, they were talking over on Loving Hands about the 10 stitch blanket
    http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ten-stitch-blanket

A couple were saying they had no patience or that it was hard, well I had already done one a while ago (just a little baby sized one) and decided I needed to start another

here is the result so far
