Good morning everyone - bright and sunny here with the promise of a lovely day ahead. I do hope it's the same wherever you all are!
Pippa - welcome back. I just knew you would have a good time with Chalky! The cream tea looked really scrummy! (((Hugs))) to your MIL.
Jean - welcome back. We've missed you!
Thanks for your sympathies about the laundry I had to do for the holiday home - it wasn't a problem once I could get it all on the line to dry, and the euros are most welcome! It's all neatly folded on the spare bed waiting to go back to the house next week. It's beautiful French-style bedlinen (mainly Laura Ashley with a Cath Kidston look about it) so my washing line looked lovely for a while - I should have taken a photo! I'll try and remember to take photos once I've made the beds up again because they look lovely then, before the guests get in them!
Well, I actually managed about an hour's crochet last night so I've nearly finished my first cat blanket. I'll start another one straight after because it's easy to do at the end of a busy day.
DH will be painting the bedroom this morning, then we're going to take the wrongly-ordered part for the car back to the dealer for a refund. It's in one of our favourite towns so we will stop for coffee as well.
I've been talking to my mum on the phone and she keeps telling me how much of a bother it is to cook just for herself, which has worried me because there's not much to her these days - I don't think she's even eight stone in weight. Anyway, I found these people http://www.wiltshirefarmfoods.com/ . I phoned them up and found that they deliver to lots of places besides Wiltshire, and deliver to mum's area on Tuesdays and Fridays, so I've ordered their catalogue to be sent straight to her. The meals look really good value for money and will save her a lot of bother. For anyone worried about an elderly person living on their own, I think it's worth trying. My mum is a great cook and I can understand how tiresome it must be to have to shop, prepare and cook a meal just for one person, but I don't want her wasting away to nothing! Anyway, I phoned and told her last night and she's really looking forward to trying them.
Well, I suppose I'd better get breakfast organised.
Hope you all have a good day!

Hi all and hugs,
beautiful poem ISOM; thanks for the kind words MAY, think its Botswana and South Africa my parents are headed to but not 100% sure - they are taking my son out there for 3 weeks next summer, he will be 10 1/2 and very savvy for his age but i am nervous already! Sad to hear Louis cat is still MIA, fingers crossed he will return when the autumn weather comes as my 6 cats definately have a different grasp of the concept of time to mine. My cats were VERY spoilt at the weekend as an elderly neighbour defrosted their freezer and gave me 3 cod fillets and 2 whole rainbow trout that had been loitering for over 2 years and they didnt want to eat them - sushi and butter-baked trout later and my cats have a real shine to their black coats as well as very fat bellys!
I'm feeling very sorry for myself at the mo :-( car driver did a SMIDSY coming out of a junction and knocked me off motorbike 2 weeks ago - twisted left knee healed quick and right elbow was swollen and needed physio - 2nd visityesterday and pins and needles and weakness in arm not better so he looked at shoulder... HUGE crack after manipulation followed by ARRRGGGH sound from me diagnosed trapped nerve in upper back/ neck; got home, went to sleep, turned over and another huge crack sound and lancing pain woke me up and kept me awake all night. went to docs this morn as cannot use arm (and am right-handed too, sigh) and in big pain and have diclofenac and co-codamol which knock me out big-time but take edge off pain. back at physio friday eve, can't drive or ride, cant work, cant writte or type or use pc mouse with right hand (doing this left-handed!), cantcook or do housework, struggle to get dressed, cant bath or wash hair - am independant sort and NOT taking to this enforced infirmary well at all... dont know what to do with myself?! trying hard not to whinge but feeling very frustrated and bored and its only day 1!
PTB - congrats on new niece! you have same total and sexes as me now, save mine are all in UK... and my mum is a Carol Ann too (though she hates her name, she prefers Caroline)
off to find a cat to poke, cant do much else, lol.

Blackcrow - considering you typed all that with your left hand, you did amazingly well! I hope you recover soon from what sounds like a horrible experience. Strange you mentioned taking diclofenac - I have it prescribed for tendonitis; I haven't taken it for ages but my left hand was almost unusable earlier today, so I had to give in and take a tablet. After lunch, I felt really tired so I had to have a snooze; I wonder if that's what made me tired? I haven't noticed it before, but then I don't often take the tablets. Your cats must have thought it was Christmas having all that lovely fish! Louis still MIA, sadly.
ISOM - lots of (((hugs))) to your mum. I'm glad you were able to juggle work.
Well, after aforesaid nap, I now have less time left this afternoon than I thought. We were going to go out, too, but that has now been postponed until tomorrow. DH said he didn't have the heart to wake me up!

HI everyone
I've discovered today that someone is sending spam from my email account. I have no idea what the spam is. I've been receiving all sorts of 'replies' from people I haven't emailed, including Jean! If anyone on here that I have emailed in the past receives an odd email from me, please ignore it! I can only hope that the spam isn't something unpleasant, and that it hasn't offended anyone. I now have to find out what I can do about it so, if anyone has any ideas, I'd be grateful. Heaven only knows how many people on my contacts list have received spam which looks as if it came from me!

Hi everyone
Mrs M, so sorry to hear your sad news, hugs and loving thoughts being sent your way.
May, thank you for the patterns, those cowls will be very useful for winter pressies.
Chalky and Pippa, so glad you had a great time when you met up.
PTB, Congratulations on being an auntie again.
ISOM, hugs for you and your mum, hope she’s feeling ok.
Blackcrow, you poor thing. I hope the physio can sort you out on Fri, it must seem like ages away for you in such pain.
I’ve been busy helping out with DGD, so not a lot of time on here, but making hats etc when I can. I’ve been teaching a friend to crochet, and that’s made me pleased to see her so happy when she did her first granny square.
Can anyone remember where to find the pattern for wristwarmers we had on here last year? I think it may have been posted by Pam or Jacqui. I’d like to make some for Shaz, and it was such a nice pattern.
Love and hugs for everyone, hope the poorlies and mia's are ok.
