Had a lovely weekend with DGS and now its all quiet again. Im going to miss hime while he is in Spain but thank goodness we are going away so I will be busy. Just off to pack in a minute then I can relax. I am going to meet Mean queen while I am away as she lives in Lincolnshire - dont know if any of you read her blog, she is a lovely lady. I saw her on Superscrimpers in the early days and they portrayed her a bit eccentric but she isnt, just very frugal which works for her. Anyway have all my craft stuff packed just need to remember clothes and stuff nowClearing the junk to travel light

Hi everyone; I've been MIA for a while. We've been re-doing our bathroom - not by choice, though, because we only finished doing it about two years ago. The shower tray developed some cracks - not noticed until the laminate floor started to lift because of all the water seeping up. We decided not to replace the shower cubicle; it was expensive for something that turned out to be of poor quality, and it really should have lasted a lot longer, considering there's only the two of us here and neither of us is overweight. We could have replaced the tray but the same thing would have happened so, for the price of a new tray, we have installed a bath with a shower over it. We now need to re-plaster two of the walls, then do the tiling and a new floor. With the house up for sale, the old bathroom was not a good selling point! Anyway, although it was only the bathroom, it still managed to disrupt the rest of the house like these things do.
Chalky - I hope you've managed to sort your knicker problem out! I do have a very old but gorgeous book of knitting patterns for dolls clothes (for Rosebud dolls, if you remember them?), so if you still need a pattern, I can photocopy one from the book and email or post it to you.
Ginnynknit - I hope you have a lovely trip.
F1 - talking about knee replacements, my FIL has had three in one leg. He had both knees done several years ago; one of them has never caused any problems, but the other one has kept getting infected. He lives in Cyprus and the doctors there refused to replace it a third time unless he paid privately (he's in his eighties now, which is why they refused to do it, which seems unfair because he's an active chap). It cost him £20,000 in the end!
Shaz - hugs to your mum.
Craftycrafty - hope work goes well for you.
Jean - any hope of getting your sweatshop back any day soon?
Pippa - hope you had a nice lunch with the family yesterday.
I haven't done much woolly stuff over the last few days while we've been doing the bathroom, so I hope to do some this evening.
We've had lovely weather for the last week; it's been great to be able to hang the washing on the line again! We visited friends yesterday; she's a hairdresser, so we had both booked haircuts with her. We sat in their garden drinking coffee in beautiful sunshine, which was so nice after such a long and gloomy winter. I hope spring has arrived for all of you, too.
Anyway, I'm off to put the kettle on and go back to bed with a cuppa, so I will call in later when I've done the update.
