I know its late but I hope you all had a happy St Georges Day:)
Dry here again today thank goodness, I have the last line of washing out and its blowing gently in the breeze.
Just started the packing the stuff for the caravan, we are off tomorrow morning for a week or maybe 2 if the weather is kind to us
Really looking forward to it we have had a bashing lately with Mom and hospitals etc, hopefully all is sorted for a while now
All the most important stuff is ready...2 boxes of yarn and my unfinished "caravan" blanket I started last year, it's been in the top of the wardrobe since last September when the season finished, so I will happily make a start on it again.
I've done 255 sqs of 432 and have 177 squares left to do, sounds a lot but they are tiny ones so they mount up quickly
I also have a bag of yarn for Carol's 2nd ripple blanket to have a go at ...so as you can see I have plenty to keep my hands busy.
jean - ouch!! that sounds painful is it any better today...'Arthur' seems to be a regular visitor to quite a few of us on here, but as a doctor friend once said "keep those fingers moving you won't stop Arthur but it will help keep them supple"
chalky - have wonderful time on your week in Cornwall, we will catch up next time we come down xx
and.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY have a memorable day
I better go get something done or I will get the LOOK!!!

Hi everyone. I hope you are all OK and that the weather is behaving itself for you. Here, we've had a few beautiful days but it is cooling down ready for the wet weekend we've been promised. The summer really is reluctant to get going, isn't it?
Pam - my memory squares are on their way at last. Hope they don't take too long!
Pippa - would love to see a photo of the blanket once it's finished!
Chalky - have a fantastic time and a great birthday.
Well, the bathroom is almost finished. I had to work on DH so that we didn't buy laminate flooring. When the shower leaked, it lifted the laminate which caused all sorts of problems. I just don't like it in rooms that have water in them; I got my way and we have bought some cushionfloor (or whatever it's called) which looks so much better and will not let any water through.
Anyway, I have some online work to do and I've finished my coffee so I'd better get on.
Hope you all have a good day, and hugs to all who are unwell or have worries.

afternoon all
weather looking ok at mo bit weve had sunshine showers and hail so far today.
finished my blanket last night just got ends to sew in and that will be in the charity/good cause bag.
found a wip from when my girls were little- its a prima magazine from 1989 patter of a little girls cardi/waistcoat, ive done the back and one front, counted the stitches across the back of the neck so i know what size i was doing. im going to finish that and pop it in the good cause pile. the wool is a cone of soft fluffy red with a silvery almost mohair thread on it.
so my next project is stash busting/wip clearing and for a good cause. make up for my lack of them recently.
going to put the kettle on and make a start on the other front ribSPC~12 ot 124

UPDATE - I know I am early - missed last week
2 hedgehogs (toys)
I have half a rabbit - not happy with him so no doubt he will be frogged, a tragic teddy who has a lovely bag and a spare bag for his pal but no arms (or a pal yet), I actually managed a diagonal little blanket on the knitting machine with the hood - well it will have a hood when I put it all together, there is a lovely wee crochet frock again needs all sewin up and finished, oh and I have cobbled up 3 cribs and bedding for them BUT they also need a tweek or two.......SO LADIES it is my intention to not start anything else until I get some of the WIPS whipped into shape! Polytunnel is calling me and having cleared it of ALL weeds yesterday and today - I just hope the veggies now grow - I shall be leaving notes for the SIL to keep watering if I can't find the automatic timer for the tap before I leave....11 sleeps and then I am ofskie....ooo its getting exciting Hope you all have a great weekend, with lots of lovely sunshine and crafting

Hello all, am back from my break and it was lovely. I was a very lazy Ginny as Hubs was a tad poorly so we just pottered apart from a trip out for lunch. I am now free all weekend and my sewing machine is calling. I am planning to get lots done. just been to buy provisions so will be having an easy weekend food wise.
As I thought DGS loved his plane ride to Spain. He hates buses as most autistic children but I hoped the sort of muffled noise in a plane would be ok. His daddy decided to hire a car thus saving them sitting on a bus for ages going from hotel to hotel and that worked well too. They are playing in the parks and on the beaches and sound really rested.
F1 hope you are doing ok hunny, thinking of you. xx
Chalky mind you dont singe your eyebrows on those candles - it would be a terrible loss :rotfl:
Mioliere, I hate laminate with a passion and have cushion floor, it last for ever and keeps your feet warm.
Roamin glad you have your hols to look forward to.
Pippa can't wait to see the blanket.

Nice to hear about all the WIPs being finished off, though I had to laugh at your descriptions, Jean! I must have at least four projects that could do with finishing, so I think I'll dig them out tomorrow and see what I can get finished.
Ginnyknit - I'm glad you had a good time but sorry that your OH was not well. It's good that DGS enjoyed the plane ride and that he is having a good holiday.
Talking about laminate flooring, my DH would have had the whole place done if I'd let him; like you, I really don't like it because it's noisy, doesn't like being wet, and I'm convinced it attracts even more dust than other surfaces! I managed to limit it to my office and the bathroom; the rest of the house is tiled which looks so much better. The cushion floor is lovely; DH has finally had to concede defeat!
Jean - I can tell you are looking forward to your time away! I was going to say that it's probably the only time you wind down, but I bet you are just as busy away as you are at home!
Well, I've just had a lovely bath and I'm just about to settle down with my crochet and hope that I don't doze off.
I hope you all have a good evening.

hold on to that happy holiday feeling for as long as you can Ginnyknit
Had a phone call last night to say WE can go and pick up some of SIL's ordered furniture today - oh I really really didn't need that one! I so wanted to pack away all the sewing things that have been in the spare bedroom and TRY for a bit of a tidy up.........never mind soon be all sorted - she will arrive and scream at the builder to get his finger out - then all her things in the sweatshop will be away and all my things will be back in there (probably in the wrong box/place but I can work on that later in the year) Have a great day folks, we have a little bit of a frost but its looking promising.
