    Hi everyone

A warm welcome to DomRavioli; I hope you enjoy it here!

Jean - I really hope you get your sweatshop back when you return from your trip. Let's hope your SIL gets all her jobs done, too! How lovely that you will be meeting up with Maytaurus; please send her my love.

Shaz - glad that you had such a good time.

Mrs Moneypenny - thanks for pointing DomRavioli in the right direction.

After a few mild sunny days, it's pouring with rain today and looks as if it will never stop. Roll on the real summer!

Well, I have done this week's update, which you can find by clicking into this link https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhOgVamMPLdkdDdKVTJ6UWRPLThuejdDaDI0alQ1NVE#gid=0

Many thanks for all your totals.

I've been so busy I've not looked in much recently (supposed to be retired - don't know the meaning of the word!). Lovely weather so spending most time in the garden instead of knitting or crochet, though have got more than halfway with one of the Scottie dog cushions... The days of rain have left the garden nice and soft for pulling out loads of weeds.

Welcome DomRavioli and good luck with your blanket! I don't back small ones but am working on one that's bedspread (double bed) size at the moment and I'm planning to back that when it's finished, because larger ones tend to pull out of shape after a while. Squares for a SIBOL blanket are a good way to start - 6" squares; I knit on the loose side and find about 30 stitches, 30-40 rows (depending on stitch used) gives me about the right size (double knitting on 4.5 mm needles.

Still not sure about updates, mioliere... do I just change my signature or mention them in a post? and how often do you do the updates - is it at the end of each month?

Hi everyone. It's been a busy few days because I've been helping DH finish off the bathroom. We've not tiled yet because we can't find tiles we like (very limited choice here), but the rest of it is almost done now.

Chalky - welcome back; glad you had such a good time. What a lovely surprise for DD to turn up in time for your birthday!

Morag - Sock-knitter is right. I try to update on Monday every week, taking the totals that have been posted in the week ending on the Sunday night. If you add your totals to your post in bold red it makes it much easier for my tired old eyes to find them! A lot of people put their running totals in their sigs, which is a useful way of keeping up to date on a personal level. Roamin-in-the-Gloamin on here devised our excellent spreadsheet - it makes updating a doddle and visible to everyone, so I am eternally grateful to her.

    Mrs Moneypenny -that looks lovely!

    Have a great evening, everyone.

    :hello:

I joined LH in the hope of being able to give things locally, the latest increase in postal charges really irritated me. I would rather spend my pocket money (pension) on wool and sometimes made it so that it would have been better just to give the cause a donation :(

Anyway I have made 3 cribs in the hope that one of the local hospitals can use them.

thchalky glad you had a lovely birthday, and how lovely that your dd popped in as a birthday suprise.
have finished a lot of knitting and sewing this week, as my step sons fiancee is expecting a baby, i've made them 2 cardigans, 2 jumpers, all with matching hats and bootees, and a cot blanket, going to go down and see them on monday, cant wait.
on the charity front been finishing socks and knitting teddies

    update
    3 pairs mens socks
    8 teddies.

this week i'm hoping to finish some tops that i started for my self, as well as continue with the teddies, as they are going to 2 local charities, therefore saving postage.
