thanks everyone for the hugs and kind messages. on a positive front went to see my stepson and his fiancee on monday, and took the baby knitting that i had done for their baby due in august. they were absolutly thrilled with it. their good news is they are getting married in july, as money is tight for them, they are just having two witnesses at their wedding, no other guests. i am so happy that i have been asked to be one of the witnesses. now i need to buy something suitable to wear, as i am usually a jeans and trainers type girl lol.
chalky, glad you had a lovely birthday

Thanks Shaz, I don't mind being busy so long as I have enough time to do things, IYSWIM!! I've had a week off work last week as I needed to start taking some hols or I'll be taking the last 3 months of the year off, and I don't think the boss would be too happy. I just took my time and enjoyed the slower pace for once. The kitchen is still a battle site, but it will get done eventually.

Glad you've had a better day and they liked the baby things.
We didn't have a big wedding (in 1978) and I made my dress, with a bit of help, for £16. We had ham salad and cakes for our reception! So it just shows that you don't need to spend the 'average' of whatever silly number they put on the cost of a wedding these days - it's one day - the start of a great life together :) Have fun finding something to wear!

Hi everyone. I've been MIA this week because the weather has been good, we have two public holidays this week, and we seem to have turned the house into a cafe! It's been great fun, though, catching up with friends and enjoying coffee and cake in the sun.

Shaz - that is wonderful news. There's nothing like a wedding to look forward to, and a new baby to knit for, is there?

Chalky - glad the birthday celebrations went so well.

I have done the update, which you will find by clicking into this link

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhOgVamMPLdkdDdKVTJ6UWRPLThuejdDaDI0alQ1NVE#gid=0

if I've made any mistakes please let me know; it's easy to put things right.

Wool-wise, I am just using up oddments until I can go back home and stock up on new wool. I've been doing IS hats (have no idea how many until I add them up), and I have just finished and posted off some summer bunting to my Mum. I will add a photo of it to my Flickr album over the next few days. I am now making one for DGD2 who has just had her bedroom decorated 'princess' style. She is bewitched by a programme about a princess called Sofia who has a step-dad, and she told her dad that she wants a step-dad, too! Next, I shall make some bunting for her sister once I know what colour her bedroom will be. It's a good way of using up scraps of wool, and I have lots of buttons that I can trim them with.

Anyway, I hope you all have a lovely day and that the sun is shining wherever you are.

Just a quick pop in as I`m busy sewing up stuff and putting buttons on, my favourite task - NOT.

Has to be done though as it`s all going to LH this weekend. If it`s not all finished I`ll just have to get Roamin and prfungi on the case on Saturday, they can easily stitch and chat at the same time. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED GIRLS !!:rotfl:Bring your sewing up needles.

Sun is shining here but quite a brisk breeze - at least the washing will dry.

Socky - Sorry to read the bad news about the boys but great about the wedding and the baby.

Prfungi - the professional personal stylist - a new career move Pam ?;)
It`s sometimes good to have an `honest` friend with you, they sometimes get you to try on something you wouldn`t normally give a second glance - and it really suits you. Have fun if you do go shopping together.

Moliere - No further news on the house / land sales ?

Chalky - glad you had a great birthday with the `surprise guest`

Got to go and do some more of that sewing up malarkey. Think I`ll see if I can find a spot outside, out of the wind and enjoy some rays while they are here. Maybe this is summer.....

    Bye for now.

pam, jean, and psso, enjoy the LH weekend.
pam, i am intrigued by what you have in mind for me clothes wise, a shopping trip would be fun, its only a very small wedding, smart casual as far as clothes are concerned, something i can wear any time.
kathy how long til you come back to uk to see family and stock up your stash?

my news today, for last few weeks i have been volunteering on a friday morning, teaching people with special needs and some 'normal' people how to knit, something i enjoy. anyway the charity has received funding to pay for a worker to come in and teach activities. so as from today i am getting paid for the two hours that i do. the money will of course be spent on wool to knit things for the charity to sell on its open days.
