 Hi all, got back safe and sound about 1.30 after dropping DD and little J to meet her friend with her wee boy.

Had a smashing weekend, meeting up with old friends and making new ones from all over the country.

Saturday was very busy, answering the visitors questions about LH, showing some how to knit or crochet and in between doing our own wip`s.
Jean might be a bit hoarse today the amount of talking she was doing - had to almost drag her away for coffee and a sandwich to recharge her batteries. :rotfl:

Met the lovely prfungi Pam as well. What a pity there was so much going on, we could have chatted for ages.

Didn`t get much sleep Friday and Saturday night though. A CERTAIN YOUNG MAN decided it would be fun to play until midnight and as we were all in the same room, there was no escape. Guess who will be having a very early night tonight.
NO, NOT HIM - he slept all the way home in the car :p

Pity we couldn`t have an MSE chums meet up now.
That would be quite an event, wouldn`t it ?

    Hi everyone,

A big thanks to everyone who has welcomed me, and to the amazing people who have pointed me in the right direction for sizes and backing. I've joined the loving hands site forums (still not figured it out yet!) but will start on the squares and blankets for now.

I've also found a local knitting group and I'm hoping that they will be able to teach me something other than squares!

Hope you're all well, and I will update as soon as I manage to get 5 minutes (uni exams at the moment!)

Home from bonnie scotland. The knitting show was good but even better was the chance to meet up with virtual friends. psso (Elaine) - was lovely to meet you too, sorry we didn't get much chance to chat, gosh wasn't it a busy time?

The show was good fun, introducing people to LH and the work we do. I spent a lovely 1/2 hour or so with a lady of abt 88yrs who wanted a reminder how to do "double knitting" on 2 needles (where you end up with two joined pieces right sides out ) useful for purses bags etc; she'd done it years ago but had lost the pattern & couldn't recall the method, fortunately I'd played with this a couple of years ago so we sat & worked it out together. The hoot is - she needed a new cover for her mobile phone 'cos her crocheted one was too holey, it was a pain (her words) - lol!

After lunch the lady returned & thanked me again and gave me a beautiful crocheted bookmark she had made while they were having coffee. I was so touched that this lovely lady, who had been a delight to talk to had taken such trouble, it really made my weekend
    !

    'bye for now

    luv
    Pam xx

Hi everyone - I seem to have been really time poor this week, so I will do the update later on this morning.

Right now I'm listening to Mack the Knife by your DS, Mrs Moneypenny, and I'm really impressed. I love that song and he does it brilliantly. I wish him luck with his first gig; I'm sure it won't be his last. You must be very proud of him.

Elaine and Pam, I'm so pleased that you were able to meet up. It's lovely to meet someone for real from here, isn't it? Pam, your bookmark sounds lovely. What a thoughtful lady!

DomRavioli - good luck with your exams!

    Pippa -welcome back!

Well, I'd better get the day going, I suppose. We have a new estate agent coming round this morning, and a surprise birthday party for a friend's mum late this afternoon to go to.

Hope you all have a good day. I don't know what the weather is like in the UK but it's cold and grey here, not in the least bit like summer.

thank you all, cant believe how much his watched count has gone up on that song over the last couple of days!!!
the thing that impresses me is hes never had a guitar or piano lesson in his life! he picked it up watching youtube, when he was in the church choir they all did a turn playing an instrument theyd learnt, i thought he wouldnt play as the only thing he was having lessons for at the time was the drums and i didnt think the congregation would like that, but he goes up sits in front of the grand piano and played and sang what a catch Donnie by fall out boy. i just burst into tears.

did some knitting this morning as i got up early so a bit more sleeve done.

Mrs Moneypenny -it's amazing what he has achieved with no professional training! I can't wait to hear how his first gig goes!

I have just finished the latest update, which you can find here

MrsMp excellent songs, so impressed and all with no formal training :j

Had a day and a half of it already, hospital pain clinic to see lovely Doctor. He is sending OH for a scan to see if the new symptoms are because of something different  He is rushing it through as I told him we were at the end of our tether. It was poring down and soo cold but luckily there is a disabled car park right near the clinic so wrapped him in a blanket in his wheelchair and made a dash for it :(

Came home to talk to housing manager on the phone about the dreaded bedroom tax, she is so understanding and helpful. She remembers hubby when he was a strong busy man and is quite upset to hear about how he is now. The Housing Association accept that we need seperate rooms and are happy for us to try and pay for the spare room instead of 2 which we would have as a married couple.

Off to pick up DGS from his minders and look after him till Dd finishes her shift at 8.30. His daddy has nipped over to see his Dad in France as he got some money he was owed by the army, he has bought some things that little man needed and paid bills so they are ahead of the game. Good news DGS has a place a the little primary school near their house and she has a meeting at home tomorrow with the social workers etc to sort out help for them :j

Better go and do something constructive before I go out xxx Hugs to all xxx
