Hi! Newbie on this thread, I was directed from it though the loving hands website and wondered if I could join please :)

I've just learned how to knit (I can do squares, or scarves I guess?) and wondered on sizes for knitted quilts, and if they needed backing, I had a look through and couldn't see anything on the thread so please point me in the right direction if it is on here :)

Looking forward to paying it forward.

1 TEDDY - done and stuffed (his pal is yet to be finished)
3 cribs and linens to go with them- all finished

teddy is tragic........cribs are LH challenge items and will find their way to cuddles when I get back down to Kent

    thank you spready keeper

Oh just to mention I am off and no pooter access from the 6th May - 29th May - if I do get the chance to pop in I obviously will. I am seeing Maytaurus on my way North and will bring her up to date on all that's been going on. SIL is in charge at my place - so don't expect her to be here in stead of me!

roamin - thats a shame your SIL would not like to come here and "play" with us ................ we dont bite (often) tee hee xx

welcome domravioli - Im not sure about backing the quilts ?? many of the charities abroad like knitted blankets (you can make them up from strips of knitting or squares) (am hopeless and cant remember the sizes but over on LH you should be able to also find sizes) and Im sure the ladies dont ever back them ??? but dont quote me. Im afraid the largest blanket I make is about a 22" for babies. I dont think also if you wanted to make a lap blanket for the elderly you would have to back it either. I will try and hunt out my list of blanket sizes for you if that is any help and pop by tomorrow and let you know xx

  • f1 - I can't let her play, I need her to get all her stuff out of my sweatshop and look after my dogs, the garden and the polytunnel..... she wants to do her painting (walls) purchasing nick nacks for her newly renovated house and keep on nagging her builders to get a shift on so that when I return I can go into said sweatshop and spend at least two weeks sorting it all out.
So I would prefer her not to be playing on the pooter!
