Knit Your Square to Give Your Share - PART 4

Don't feel bad, F1 - I can well understand your worries. It does seem strange that the September result was so different to the latest one. Is there a drop-in centre that you could call into, or perhaps phone NHS Direct to ask if you can discuss the results with someone? The low levels of B12, iron, and so on, will be easy to put right with the right foods and perhaps supplements, but obviously you will need to speak to the doctor first. I am surprised that training has meant that no doctor is available at all, though; that smacks of bad management. I hope you can soon put your mind at rest.

F1, blood tests are a right royal pain aren`t they. It`s amazing what shows up with them, and unless the doc specifies TEST FOR EVERYTHING they only do the basics.
Until the day before my first heart attack I felt absolutely fine. Bang, ticker goes all to pot and bloods show that I have X,Y,Z WRONG - oh and A,B,C wrong as well.
Like you, I`m vit B12 deficient and have a nice wee needle stuck in my upper arm every 3 months (well I`m supposed to have it that often but my memory is like a sieve) and all the other tablets to go along with it.
Your doc will put your mind at ease when you see her I`m sure.
Can you ask if there`s a Duty doctor who can discuss your results maybe ? (((hugs))) in the meantime.

Sorry been awol....not even lurked as not getting home until late so by the time Ive eaten and out of energy
In an attempt to get out of my rutand with the help of friends and a bottle of wine I signed up to do a 1/2 marathon (Cardiff) in October so its a real challenge to get fit in time. Best mate is doing it with me and Im on week two of training but boy am I tired! Also going to have to have a wine ban (6 out of 7 days me thinks!) as it makes me feel rubbish! So I'm alive but have to do at least 4 sessions of excercise a week and with work as well there just arent enough hours in the day
Ginny hugs for you with OH...

Morning everyone
Just a quick update on mom we are off out in a mo but I will be back later, and I must pop into the wool shop I ran out of yarn for my friends blankets last night...and we can't have that can we :rotfl:
Thank you for your kind thoughts for Mom, we had a very long day but she had a full MOT cat scan, ecg, blood tests,Doctor said she'd had a mini stroke behind her eye, because of blood clots squeezing through the veins there and in her neck so he gave her some blood thinning tablets and a statin she was quite happy.
Then a real treat, she said she was hungry and wanted to go to McDonalds for a HAPPY MEAL well I had to laugh a 91 yr old lady in McD's she loved it. We took her home and settled her down, then back to our's, OH went to snooker and I fell asleep on the sofa :rotfl:
f1 - snap!!! I had a similar thing 20 years ago low b vit/iron levels and thyroid trouble luckily all controlable with tablets, and I felt carp!!! up to the start of the treatment then I did start to feel more like me IYSWIM so I am sending positive vibes and lots of (((HUGS))) to you xx
Love to all back later

F1 you will be like a new woman once you start the jabs atc. I think you may find lots of things improve, thank goodness you got the tests done. Everyones problems are equal, anything that affects your well being is important and you are such a kind and generous of spirit person, as I well know, thats its good news that you are getting help.
ISOM good luck with the training. I loved to run and was quite addicted to it. Was that only 6 years agoBut the damned arthritis put paid to that.
Pippa glad they sorted your Mum out, bless her. Its funny my Mum often wants to do things like that (83 now) and gets such pleasure from it. Her favourite trip is to Ikea. Basically its places they wouldnt have gone on their own that we pop in and out of without a thought isnt it?
Moliere am so pleased your Mum has settled so well, eases your mind a lot I bet. Your BIL is such an amazing man, he is an inspiration much better than just sitting wishing he could do things.
Hubby is having another sleepy day as he had a day out yesterday. He went to see a friend who manages a rather up market restaurant in town. DD's fella took him and left him there. He went to give his friend advice on building work that they need doing so they dont get ripped off. He missed lunch due to waiting for the owner to arrive though he had lots of coffee so to make up for it. He gives the advice for free as he just enjoys being useful however this time as he was leaving the chef handed him a plastic box - ' I cooked you and Ginny my signature dish to eat at home' :j Chicken and new potatoes in a cream and mushroom sauce and it was absolutely yummy.Clearing the junk to travel light

kathy - lucky you kept those stamps it will save you a fortune. So pleased your Mum has settled down in her new home and is taking part in the activities, a new interest is always good it keeps the mind on full alert as it wereYour BIL is amazing and so strong minded, good for him getting out there and doing things
Moragtodd - what a great offer and wine as well, sounds like one very satisfied customer too
psso - you are naughty tempting us with links, I'm not going to look though....well...maybe a little peek
ginny - (I think it's me you meant);) yes Mom loves an outing and the travel wheelchair was a godsend as she doesn't walk well now, and she slept all night something she hasn't done for a long time so she must have been shattered. The chicken and mushroom sounds mouthwatering, people are so kind aren't they?
mrs-m - Don't know if I missed it or not but did your DS hear any more about his bike?
Managed to get some more wool for Carol's blanket same shades as well luckily, so will have a go at that later before we go to the club tonight for a swift half...or 2
Love to all Ax
edit:Psso ooo what a temptation all that lovely yarn and those gorgeous colours....what to do???0 -
no more news on the bike- police say its unlikely to be recovered so have closed the case. so hes having to walk everywhere as we cant afford to replace it. it still really annoys me, but im trying not to let it wind me up too much. thank you for asking its nice to know that people on here care.
