Afternoon all
Hope we're all doing well and avoiding getting too wet in all this miserable wet stuff that is tipping from the clouds at the moment!
I am sorry that I haven't posted for ages, but I have been lurking and keeping an eye on you all. Sadly, I haven't the brain capacity to say anything individual to you all, but safe to say I think of you lots.
Bad news --- my world fell to bits a couple of weeks ago. We have found out that my Dad has an aggressive inoperable brain tumour and has a matter of weeks left with us. One brother has already flown back from Australia (was here for a week, is now back home) and littlest brother is due back on the 18th. We hope it won't be too late. Hardest thing ever was telling J and S - truly awful
so - that's where I am. trying ti function, but not managing too well I'm afraid.
sorry for the post - I had to "get it out there2 if you know what I mean.
With love,
Dawn xx:hello:0 -

Mrs M lovely news re pink knitting to be done! We found out yesterday that lovely couple are having a baby in Oct so were delighted as they've had a v tough last year...
F1 you have to be ready to have your hysterical and you need proper planning and support when you get it done. No naughty step...just be gentle with yourself. Hope it gets sorted for you though.
Well things did not go to plan this end! Had a nice day on sat and felt a bit iffy Sun am and was screaming in agony and calling an ambulence by 12.30...after much toing froing and waiting gallbladder removed on Tues and now home recouping...managed to get docs to give me some stronger pain killers which are thankfully being delivered later. Currently breathing, burping and laughing all cause sharp pain and hard not to do them!! Feeling v positive though and that at last I can move forward without being in pain! Needless to say not doing any hookyness as have a tendency to fall asleep at a drop of a hat lol!! Sewing the quilt instead as requires no thought!
Lots of hugs for those that need them!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -

ISOM, boy that was fast, getting your op done. Once the pain stops you will be amazed how much better you feel - ask me how I knowyou keep resting and you will soon be on the mend.
I have been out 3 times this week :j ok so yesterday it was only for 15 minutes but it still counts. We managed to get to the garden centre and bought some primulas to brighten up whats left of the front garden now that we have our little drive way - it just fits the car on and has revolutionised my life completely. I can now lift the shopping from the boot into the hall. I only have to turn round and pop the wheelchair into the outside cupboard. Best of all we can get DGS in and out without remembering to park with the right side of the car at the pavement, meaning no one sits honking their horn whilst I block the road :j
F1 happy birthday to your baby lol and Moliere lovely news about your Mum and hoping BIL keeps that sense of humour, he sounds a lovely man.

Ginnyknit - so pleased that your drive has made such a positive difference to your life.
ISOM - hope you are feeling a lot better today.
My BIL had the results of his latest tests yesterday. He is not going to get better, we all know that, but he has not got any worse than the last time he had the same tests. The worst thing for him right now is that he is finding it very difficult to eat because it causes such discomfort; my sister said that he 'doesn't fit his skin any more' because he has lost so much weight. He has always enjoyed his food so it's sad that he can't eat the things or the amount of food that he used to. The doctors are looking to see if they can do something to help him with that. The medical team are fantastic and really do try and find ways to help him. They constantly talk about how positive he is and, because he has told them he will try anything they suggest, they really do want to help. On the plus side, they have had two days of sunshine and my sister Jane said that that really boosted him, and he went out to work on the garden and really enjoyed it.
My Mum, with Jane's supervision, phoned me yesterday to tell me all about the wonderful optician, and how well she could see during the tests he carried out. She said that he asked her loads of questions and was much more thorough than any of the others have been; I just feel sad that she has probably wasted about two years not being able to read and so on, and that could have been avoided, especially as it was making her feel so down. Now that she has embraced all that her new home provides, and she knows that she will soon have her new glasses, she actually sounds like a young girl - she really is enjoying her life now.
We've just heard that the final completion of the land we are selling will now be in around two weeks - it should have been around the middle of February, then about a week ago, then the 15th of March, and now in around fifteen days. We are not surprised because that is how everything is over here, so we will just wait and it'll happen when it happens! The chap who is buying it is desperate to start building on it, so he is being held up more than we are; it's lucky for us that we aren't as desperate for the proceeds! Officials here do not believe in getting things done efficiently; all I can do is hope that it has been completed by May because, with SIX public holidays here that month, the entire country will probably grind to a halt and no-one will do anything!
Hugs to you all, and especially to those with sadness and worries.
