Chalky, wish we all could have joined you for lunch it sounds lovely - and probably just what you and the Sporty One needed.
Wow, socky - sounds like one of those Impulse adverts from the 80's - remember them? How exciting!
craftycrafty, that's a lovely blanket. I really like the bits between the squares.
psso, hope you've found some A!
f1, you sound a bit perkier - hope you are being kind to yourself and I second what you said about the advert for ISOM :T.
Hope everyone lurking is OK and had a good day (and a good nights sleep Ginnyknit) and not too much to handle.
I managed to sort a load of laundry - you know sometimes when it just seems to multiply and never get put away? Or is that just me?
Don't worry Jaqui - there was no flattening involved - no creases were harmed in the course of today :rotfl:0 -
isom sending you massive and gentle hugs, sorry life has been so stressful and horrible to you lately. do what you need to do to eliminate some stress but please keep popping in for a chat so we know you are alright

Hello to one and all. We have just come back from a long, steep clamber. Views were amazing but ow ready for a cosy on down with a cuppa!!
Crafty crafty... That blanket is truly beautiful as is the card. Bet you are thrilled with those lovely gifts. Lucky little baby to be snuggled up in that lovely cosy gift.
Sock knitter.. Fingers crossed. You so deserve someone lovel. But gently does it. Hope your wrist is getting much better.
Isom... Talking of people who deserve good things ... You must be top of the list. And actually slowly, slowly goes for you too. Nobody minds a jot about your totals as you do such a lot for so many. Just get stronger in every way, a little bit every day. Glad mum is ok.
K2tog. Lovely to see you posting.
Mrs moneypenny. Hope Ds has got over the bicycle debarcle.
Kathy. How are the viewings going. Hope news of Dbil is not any worse .so glad you can think of your busy, busy Mum every day. Love to you both.
Jean .. Hope things are a bit calmer for you.
F1 .. No more talk of naughty steps.. You were so nowhere near any step at all. Don't beat yourself up any more. Things always happen for a reason and you will one day feel up to anything you have to face. Hope Ds is still as happy at big school.
Jean .. Hope you have not eaten all the muffins x
I have just popped a little flower tutorial on my blog if anyone is wanting to crochet a bunch for Mothering Sunday.
We got WIlliams bedroom ready this morning .. We are all coming out for a holiday together for 12 days in April .. Gorgeous x
Lots of the gentlest thoughts to one and all xxTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Was inspired today to do a spot of baking...(cos its seems like I was the only one NOT DOING ANY).. cranberry/orange muffins - great plan eh? Well I was distracted by the postie half way through - the muffins survived (only ate two - well you have to do a quality control)- stashed most of them into the freezer so they will be hidden from view and break teeth if I take them out to eat them unless the get zapped in the micro.
ISOM - not a problem at all - I don't pop names onto the spready till folks announce what they have done - bit presumptuous assuming that everyone on the forum will want to be on there - nine times out of ten I forget to even add my things. I do hope you will take things a little easier tho'
SOCKY - slowly slowly - catchee monkey.
Had a fantastic day doing a bit of sewing and a bit of cutting out and a bit of squishing of fabrics - my idea of heaven.

Mrs moneypenny. Hope Ds has got over the bicycle debarcle.
he got a 'dear victim' letter off the police today saying how sorry they are about his crime. cant afford to get him a new one and not claiming on insurance as £100 excess and premiums up next year mean its not worth it so hes having to go back to walking or cadging lifts off DH again. ive just had to lend him £10 to catch the bus and hes asked if DH can pick him up from his council meeting tonight:(SPC~12 ot 124

evening everyone, lots of you baking lately, something i dont do much now there is just me at home.
isom, hugs to you, such a lot going on, hope you find the farmer that you are looking for, you deserve to be happy.
daniel met me in town today, with a mothers day pressie for me, he wanted to give me it, cos if he left it in his flat he might not find it again, under all his clutter. what he bought me was a lovely ball of sock wool, in pretty shades of lilac and white, self patterning type, very girly, and cant wait to get started on them, but have so much on the needles just now.
been to the wool shop myself this afternoon, just for a look, and rescued ten balls of sirdar summer stripes yarn, it was looking sad in the bargain basket, think it may have been discontinued?
a disabled childrens charity in wakefield called 'kids' is having a sponsered knit, and therefore i have decided to join in, as i like to support local childrens charities, as well as knitting, so i will be knitting there bears for a while too.
man in car park been texting, mostly nice chatty texts, tho one or two were a bit too personal iykwim, so i told him i prefer to get to know someone a lot better than just one coffee, before texts like that, he seemed ok with that. i am very shy, lack self confidence, and take a long time before i feel able to trust men, been hurt too many times in past. this man will have to have patience of a saint, or he can forget it lol.
love to all my virtual sisters

morning all
i agree with you shaz, slow and steady is a much better aproach to getting to know someone. glad you got a chance to meet up with Daniel and the present sounds really thoughtful that he gave you. enjoy supporting your local charity, it sounds a really nice thing to get involved with
all the baking going on in here sounds lovely, im sure ive put on a few pounds just reading about it.
hugs to all that need one
hugs ISOM, you just take your time clear the decks of things that are not needed or cause you stress and get on with feeling much better.
i know the first photo isnt a charity or good cause knit but this is the blanket ive knitted for my brother and their expected little one
these are the [STRIKE]roadkill[/STRIKE]flatpack hedgehogs ive done so far, some are a bit 'colourful' im sure with a bit of stuffing and a few features you can turn them into something that will rasie a few coppers for the good cause chalky.SPC~12 ot 124

Morning all - well it was when I started this post:rotfl:Bright and sunny again but still very chilly. SOME day there will be some warmth in the sun.
CBA mode is in retreat I`m happy to report. Been cracking on with granny squares and now ready to start edging the blue/yellow one. Shades of yellow/orange,rust and red squares done and ready to sew together as well. Next project might be shades of blue as I have quite a lot of that to [STRIKE]get rid of[STRIKE]use up.
ISOM - just you chill girl. Never mind lists etc. I`ve been plodding along doing my own thing and not done an update yet this year as you can see from my sig.!
One day I will gather everything together and then LOOK OUT, whoever is doing the spready will need to have lots of free time to catch up with me
Socky - quite right to let him know you need to get to know him sloooowly. Cheeky monkey getting personal so soon, we`ll sort him out for you
Mrs m - Don`t worry, most of my hedgies are as er, ummm, dull and sedate as yours :rotfl:they could almost be twins some of `em. Bright and beautiful I say !!
Lovely blanket too.
Jean- cranberry and orange muffins sounds yummy.I`m munching a cranberry cereal bar as I type, very chewyyyyyy.
Just going to have a relaxing day today as I`m working this weekend, so have to build up my energy. I expect it will be busy with folks coming out to spend their wages on garden stuff now that Spring seems to be here and they will probably pop upstairs to us to have lunch or a snack or even just a coffee.
The new parts came for my washing machine today - it `died` on me a couple of weeks ago when DS wasn`t here to investigate -he found the problem on Wednesday night and I ordered up the necessary parts. Much cheaper than buying a new machine, so I`m hoping he can get it going again tonight and he and DD can get all their washing done over the weekend while I`m not here. One job less for me to do :T
Off to have a rummage in the freezer to see what I can dig out for tonight, just DS and me so it might be haggis, neeps and tatties.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.
