    Hi Everyone!

Thanks Mioliere. Jude you are most welcome to join us over on SIBOL. www.sunshineinternationalblanketsoflove.blogspot.com
I am always collecting 6" Squares for the Elderly.

Ladies I have just finished the Flower Challenge. If anyone wants to see the 9 Flower Blankets please pop over to my blog above or click on the flickr link.https://www.flickr.com/photos/sues_favourite_things.

    Now I need help please?

One of the members in my group over on SIBOL. suggested making a Childrens Picture Square Blanket. This Blanket would be made up of Squares 6" of course. Each Square would be Crocheted or Knitted with a Childrens Picture included. For example a Square might have a boat, a ball, something like that.
We was going to donate this to a Childrens Hospital, but I have since found out that due to 'Elf and Safety' regulations in the UK ha.ha. ! Hospitals are not accepting.
Now does anyone know where we could send this Blanket. It would only be a one-off special project. But we really want it to go to the UK somewhere. I have made enquiries at Hospices and I am waiting replies.
    Any ideas Ladies

    Hi everyone

Shaz - I really really hope things work out for you - you certainly deserve it. I was horrified to read that Danny tried to strangle you, though - it sounds really worrying.

It sounds as if your needles are going to be really busy for the next few weeks, doesn't it? Don't forget to post photos of all the things you make!

Mrs Twins - the photos on Flickr are really gorgeous; such beautiful squares and your sewing up and edgings are really great.

Mrs MW - congratulations; I bet the new baby is gorgeous - please give him a cuddle from me!

PIppa - hope MIL is getting over her fall. As for your Mum wanting to go into a nursing home - if it's what she wants, you must try not to feel guilty, although I know you can't help it!

Jean - hope you are feeling a lot better today.

Chalky - the oak floor sounds lovely!

Well, yesterday afternoon I spent at the holiday home cleaning it ready for the next guests who arrive on Saturday. As DH has been repairing a ceiling that was damaged by a water leak, there was a fair bit of cleaning to do but it's all done now and just waiting for the visitors to turn up. Part of my responsibilities in the house is to leave bread, milk and wine as a welcome so I just need to pop over and put those in the fridge. I must say, although it's yet more housew**k, I really enjoy getting the place ready - it brings out the hidden interior designer in me! The owners have bought the most gorgeous bedlinen and towels for the house (all very French-inspired and all bought in the UK from Ikea and Laura Ashley!), and I get to match everything up. DH thinks I've gone mad, though, when I arrange the ends of the loo rolls in little points, like they do in posh hotels!

Well, we're not quite at that stage in this house, though. More plastering will be done today - I shall be so so glad when it's all done, and I'm sure DH will, too. He's almost plastering in his sleep!

Well, no Louis yet but I have taken heart from hearing about other cats that have gone missing and turned up weeks later. My main concern is that he will decide to come back when we're in the UK in September, so, if he hasn't turned up by then, I will ask my neighbour to leave some food and water outside the back door every day - there's not much else I can do. I've asked the other neighbours to keep a look-out, too. They all think he's just sewing his wild oats before it's too late!

Well, I managed to crochet all the squares of my cushion together last night then apparently I fell fast asleep with it all still in my hands. If I can only find the time (and stay awake long enough today) I hope to finally get it finished!

Well, that kettle is calling me again!

    Morning all
A quick one for me this AM, I have so much to do....have'nt we all;)

Kathy - :) Its OH's Mum who want's to go into a home she is very doddery and says she is nervous being on her own at night, she does have carer's going in 4 times a day, and we visit as often as we can but she wants someone there all the time she said. It's difficult as she is 45 minute's away, we wanted her to move over by us but she did'nt want to as OH's brother only lives 5 mins away, but doe'snt go very often. My Mum is really happy where she is, and say's it's the best thing she has ever done, moving into sheltered accommodation, and as she is only a few minutes away from me it does make it easier. Hope Louis turns up soon, someone must be feeding him for him to stay away so long.

thanks ISOM I will make a start next week when we are down at the caravan

Shaz - I hope everything goes well for you, it's about time you had something nice happen x If you would like some bits and pieces for the stall I would happily do some, hedgies, teddies, little purses, mittens etc anything you would like really, just say the word.

MrsTwins - I know what you mean elf and safety are a pain, they seem to take things to the extreme.I have 2 Christmas squares for you but will send them when I have done the 3. :D

Finished a small blanket last night in fairly darkish colours, I had a bag my friend had given me dark brown, yellow, cream, fawn and a sort of donkey brown. So I did some corner granny squares joined them together and crocheted round the edges and finished it off last night will take a pic and put it on here, it turned out quite well really :)

I must go send a txt to Jo my friend she is 65 today, can't quite believe it ....we have been friends for 35 years....where have all those years gone

well I better get gone or nothing will get done today

Shaz hope everything goes well for you. The strangling bit sounds scary though, have they sorted the boys medication out yet?

Pippa if you MIL has said she wants to go into a care home there's no need to feel guilty, but I can understand why you do. We always think we should be able to do everything don't we? Just visit at different times to see how it's run and that she's as happy as she can be. The afternoon out with your mum sounds nice and calming.

    Love to everyone xxx
  • Feeling much better today thank you all for your concern, think I just ended up in a right rutt. Wee pal called round last night and asked if I could "knock up" a couple of duvets plus duvet covers, sheets, pillow cases. So I have been up and at it since early morning. She has gites and due at 4pm today is a family with twin girls.....well, got the cots up and sorted but I can do without that kind of rush around when I am not 100%. This is the lady that gets sick and I go look after the book in and book out - but only when no one else can do it! Anyway as payback she has said she will give me two days "charity work" - think my dogs can do crafty things to a better standard but I am NOT going to say no, even if I only have her insert tape into bags, I will exact my revenge!! Hope you all have a great weekend, I am off in the camper for a couple of days with DH and the monster dogs - we have the 3 MONSTERS arriving for a week on Tuesday to give their mum a rest - I love them really, just keeping my fingers crossed that the weather is good and they will play out - all day, every day and wear themselves out prior to bedtime! Ha Ha - no chance me thinks. Love to everyone, back soon.

Good Morning to one and all
Jean -- I think that sounds a lot to ask !!!! What a lovely friend you are. I think 2 days charity work is more than a good idea! Have a lovely time in the Magic Bus!
Shaz 0 Good luck with new fella-- Gently, gentlt catcheee monkey!
Kathy Thinking of you missing everyone and lovely Louis!
    Congratulations MrsMw
Pippa What a lot you have on your plate with Mums' at the moment.
    Kinsey- Hi
And Hi to everyon having a lurk!

Well Doh is still laying the flooring in the hall!! So thats good. Getting there but its a slow process around the doors and there are a lot in halls aren't there.

Well DD2 works 2 evenings a week in a pub in Totnes- Its her last night tonight in preparation for her travels so we are going down with DMIL for pie and a pint night. DMIL has a pint of tea!!!
Of course the days are flying now til she leaves on Sept 1ST. Still lots for her to organise!

I am in the middle of another batch of hedgies. The Hedgehog hospital emailed me to say they need another huddle. It is so wonderful as it really does source the postage and wool costs especially for Spain as well. So its all things furry here at the moment!

Thinking ahead to the Ch**** list --- does anyone have a link to a tried and tested cowl, wrap around neck thingy to go under a coat as I fancy making a few as pressies. I am so aware that Kathys ruffly scarves were such a success last year I need to think of something different.

For friends with dogs like the gorgeous Buster I have made some little bags because having " pooh " plastic bags everywhere is a nightmare. So I have tucked 1 away in the Sunshine Bus for our outings with his lordship and tucked 1 away for DD1's stocking
    004.jpg?t=1281701356

So love to all and hope the weekend brings you sunshine and fun
Try and do a good deed every day.
  • Chalky think Elaine posted a link to a collar last year...I vaguely remember doing one for my DWS who is always cold - big thick wool too! Gotta go....or I WILL BE LEFT BEHIND - DH says so.

    HI all

Pippa - I'm sorry I got the Mums muddled up! (((Hugs))) to them both, anyway.

Chalky - the bags sound intriguing! AS for the cowls, another idea is a neckwarmer type thing that fastens with a button. I've seen a few of them online and thought I'd make a few for C******** pressies. I just can't face doing any more ruffle scarves! I'm going to make little dolls for the younger children I buy presents for and, when I actually find the time, some jewellery. I'm practising at the moment, hoping to make a necklace and a handbag charm for my Mum. She'll love them however bad they turn out! You must be a mixture of apprehension and excitement for your DD - it's really not long now until she leaves, is it? I hope that she and her friend have the most fantastic time, and that she keeps in contact with you - I know what youngsters are like! My DDIL1 did a year's VSO in Namibia as part of her teaching degree; well, she arrived safe and well but didn't bother to phone her poor worried-sick parents for two weeks! When she thinks of it now, she can't imagine how she was so thoughtless! Her mum has never got over it!

Jean - I'm so glad you are feeling better but, wow, that's a big ask, isn't it? You really are a friend in a million. Have a great few days away.

Well, to stop us starving to death, I had to go food shopping today - hate that job almost as much as I hate putting the stuff away when I get home! Still, I managed to find some jewellery-making bits (that haberdashery again - it just keeps luring me in!) - it's a fantastic shop but just doesn't sell wool which I think is really odd. I've even asked but they look at me as if I'm mad (perhaps I am!).

Well, I'd better go and do something useful, I suppose.
