Good morning ladies.
ISOM I would be happy to do a blanket or two for the cats/kittens, (we have a rather mad ginger moggie called Mungo,my son wanted to call him Brian Laura!) however I probably wont get going until my son goes back down to school in September, would that be OK? please send me the address. I bought a real bargain of 10 balls of Sirdar Click chunky at a carboot on Sunday for £3!If anyone would like half of it I would be happy to post out to you and I will use half for the cat blankies.
We are off to London for a few days next week as my son is going on a course, so I have free days to mooch around, does anyone know of any good wool shops in London?
Take care

Hello,
I just refound the link to this thread and couldn't remember if I had thanked you all for your advice on a baby cardi I was knitting (a fair while back now). In the end I left in unembellished. I've done a couple more since :-D Written up here.

Keep up the good work.

Hello to one and all-- Last night I finished the latest Lappy and 1 more hot water bottle cover--- only got 4 more squares to use up -- phew!
To celebrate and keep out of the rain today I revisited a little Craft Project I started before Christmas last year- Needle cases!
Last year when I made the girls crochet wrist warmers they wished I had put a little label in it. So last week thinking of this I sent for some embroidered labels from ebay - so reasonable and it took me a moment to think of what to have them embroidered with!
So a little start on the Ch**** listTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Hi everyone. My it is quiet on here today.
I keep reading your posts but never get around to replying, so perhaps I’m not the only one.
Shezmit, so sorry to hear about your cat. Hope you and family are ok.
Mrs M, so sorry to hear your sad news, sending loving thoughts for you and your family
May, nice to see you popping back in with your lovely posts. That knitted bike is just amazing!
Jean, hope your aches and bruising is better now.
Seakay, hope you have a great holiday and enjoy the shopping and the spa.
Psso, what a hectic week you’ve had, no wonder you’re pooped!
Chalky, left a message on your DIL’s blog, she’s really done well with those toys hasn’t she.
ISOM, what’s this about a swap on Ravelry, sounds exciting! So pleased that you feel ok with the work situation now, that has to be a big relief.
Sock knitter, hope all is going ok for you with the boys.
Kathy, hope that rascally Louis turns up safe and sound having sown a few oats.
It’s really nice to see lots of new names posting, hope you all enjoy it here. Jarus, Taralou, Serendisglair
I've been busy starting another ripple blanket, a couple of new granny squares and a round cushion (can you tell I'm a fan of attic 24?), gardening again, time to start taking cuttings of all my fuchsias, and all the usual stuff that makes the time disappear. I wish I could get it to work the other way, I really could do with a few more hours a day.
Anyway, love and hugs to everyone, hope all the mia's are ok.

Evening all. Two nights and no woolly stuff although am taking crochet kit camping and will give my friend E a wee lesson! Praying that the sun shines, nowt worse than camping in rain!
PM's sent to people re cat blankets - ta muchlies - know they will be put to good use! Any wool will do chalky although easy wash would be sensible me thinks - unless you wanted to do a very posh felted one!!
Thanks for comments re working situation. Its hard to explain how hard its been and the fact that it is done is a huge relief; what with mum being so ill, work and my own depression its been a crappy year and Im pleased to be able to move on positively. Thats not to say it wont be hard but at least there is progress. I return to work a week shy of a year and dont cope well with uncertainty...I think I was especially reassured after Mondays meeting as do feel that my manager wants me to succeed...was also able to have contact with people in my old team - some will keep in touch and some wont but I do feel I have done/said all I can and for my own sanity just have to make positive changes to me and learn from the experience.
The ravelry swap is on the i love Lucy forum! Have to say I find her cols a bit bright and tend to go for less in your face cols generally! Want to do myself a blanket after fergs is done...maybe a ripple! I sent my parcel to use yesterday and it was £7 postage and 13 for contents. Had great fun wrapping it all up! Just hope recipient likes it! Mine is coming from America too so am excited! off to chill...hugs all!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Good (early!) morning, everyone. Don't know why I woke up early but I just did! The thing is, whenever I wake up, the first thing I think about is a cuppa and the lure of the kettle is just too strong, especially now that I have 'proper' teabags that DS1 brought over for me from the UK!
Serendisglair - I love the cardies, especially the last one. It looks as if it has been made sideways - would love links to the patterns if at all possible.
Chalky - great projects and I love the labels!
Finequine - what a bargain all the wool was!
ISOM - thanks for the address; will get going on a cat blanket once I have finished sewing up my cushion (which I actually started to do last night).
Thanks to you all for your kind thoughts about Louis - still no sign of him yet; thirteen days now, so I'm really starting to think that that's the last we'll see of him. It rained last night - the first time for weeks. Louis hates the rain so, if he was going to come back, I'm sure he would have done once the rain started. Still, I know I will never stop hoping.
Well, as I said earlier, I have actually started sewing up my cushion. I am determined to have no WIPs hanging around if I can help it. I want to get some charity things made with the oddments of wool I want to use up (before I update my stash when I'm back in the UK), and then I will start to think about C*******s pressies!
Well, this morning I am off for my first French mammogram - hopefully, it's the same procedure as in the UK; I don't really know what to expect! Then DH and I are going off to our nearest big city (one I love, actually - lots of lovely shops!) to collect the 'souffle' we ordered for my car so that he can fit it before we go back to the UK in it. He has suggested we have lunch in the city so I'm not going to argue with that! We will then go to my newly-discovered second-hand shop there and see what bargains we can find. I noted when I was there last week that they had lots of wool, buttons, bits of lace and so on, so I'm hoping for a good rummage!
Anyway, I think I'll make another cuppa, so I will see you all later.
Lots of (((hugs))) to all those who need them.

katy here are instructions on how to do squares. Who would you like to do them for? Peopel on here do them for various people so the size differs. If you look at post 1there is lots of info. We also do other projects for charities like loving hands etc...If you can tell us what you would like to do we'll be able to point you in the right direction.
Chalky forgot to say love the needle holders!! You are a talented bunny!
Am off for my nights camping so need to get organised...currently in my pjs'!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
ISOM - you can't go camping in your PJ's.....get some proper toggs on for goodness sake, fingers crossed it stays warm and dry in the tent! Just whizzed in to wish everybody a really lovely day, Moiliere hope the squished boobies thing goes well for you - OUCH! Still feeling a bit tom and !!!!!! but continueing with the SANDS blanket I a have now made it to the lace edge although it's still a struggle, I will make sure it all gets a good wash when I am done too! The last puss cat I had hear in France went walk about for 22 days so don't give up hope just yet - its a wide open spaces thing I believe. Love the needles holders Chalky, now there's an idea for me - there again I am the only one that does any crafting so perhaps I should be investigating something else for the C******** pressies. Am a bit fed up with folk with HUGE feet, as I have been knitting slipper/socks so a wee change is in order me thinks. Back when I have caught up with the postings then. Cuddles to everybody
