Hi all,
hope everyone is as well as possible and hugs for anyone who isn't feeling on top form for whatever reason.
Aww, bless Dawn! was lovely meeting you all and hugs to the little ones for me... in explanation of the pink fairy dust incident, my green kawasaki sportsbike has a bright fushcia pink sticker on the back of the pillion seat that says "powered by fairy dust" (i know it clashes, but i saw it and loved it and was soooo me i had to have it) and i like to tell peeps my bike runs on fairy dust as it is cheaper than petrol. So clever of your number one son to think about where to buy it?! You can tell him you have to go outside when you see a rainbow, find the fairys at the bottom and get them to dance for you so you can collect the pink sparkly fairy dust ;-) Glad you loved the eels foot inn too, and that your mojo is coming back - do you think it went to the same place all the odd socks disappear to in the washing machine? lol. not sure about twins, but it is special to find someone you share a birthday with; did you manage to find the seals on the sandbank in the end?
Good news re: dad... the chemo seems to be working for the good (even though he is suffering very much with it) and he and mum are currently off on holiday in africa and taking cartloads of school supplies and treats for the children in the african villages a charity they do lots of stuff for supports, and when they come back dad will start his second lot of chemo to carry on the fight.
my backyard appears to have turned into a jungle with all the rain we have been having lately, had a large handful of baby carrots this week, 4 supermarket half-size cucumbers and herbs galore... and if all the green tomatoes i have turn red (or not?) i will be making chutney everyday for a month :-O anyone know any good recipes?
one of my cats made me laugh tons recently ... sat outside the back and watched phoenix (cat) cackling at a seagull on the wall and when he launched at him phoenix ran under a nearby car where the seagull couldnt get him... then did it again... 10 minutes later the poor confused seagull flew off in disgust and phoenix trotted indoors for a snack, wash and siesta, leaving me and b/f outside still laughing! who says cats don't have intelligence? i think he knew EXACTLY what he was doing!
oh well, tis late and had better toddle - have to be at the hospital tomorrow at evil o'clock (8am) for an x-ray.

sorry for anyone i've missed, and i know there lots of you, but hygs all, very tired, and need sleep soon
seen fella today, and his 3 lovely children, i was worried how all the kids would get on, but they were all fine and got on really well. my two seem to have settled, now the docs have sorted their meds out, still very active, and always on the go, but less aggressive, which is a good thing.
up early in morn, taking them to see dentist, so i'll say goodnight, and hopefully catch up properly tomorrow

HI everyone.
Blackcrow - sounds like you had a wonderful time with Dawn. Glad it went so well. Good luck to your Dad - he sounds like a lovely man.
Shaz - I'm delighted that the meds are working and it's great that all the children got on. I really hope things work well for you all.
F1widow - hope you're feeling better today.
Jean - oops, you reminded me about the update. I didn't do it at all last week, so will do it later on today. First of all, I have a very important visit to make - we've been told about someone in a nearby village who sells British sausages, bacon, and other porcine delights, so I shall be going along there sometime today! I'm not exactly mad on French sausages (apart from the Toulouse one) and DH is longing for a proper bacon sandwich, so I'm hoping to come back with some real goodies!
Well, cushion nearly finished but couldn't spend much time on it yesterday because other things got in the way. I just need to make some ties for it and sew in a few more ends. I just can't seem to find enough spare time to just sit and crochet. I'm also trying to sort curtains out so that's another ongoing project! My Mum has said I can have her old sewing machine now that she has a new one (I was meant to pick it up when were back in the UK in February, but we both forgot about it at the time - too busy gassing!), so I'm hoping to remember it when we go back in September. I haven't had a sewing machine for a few years, since my last one died on me, so I expect I'll be a bit rusty! I don't even like sewing much but sometimes it can't be avoided!
Hope you all have a great day.

Blackcrow good to hear your Dad's a bit better, your parents sound like lovely people.
Shaz thank goodness they've got your boys meds sorted at last, all looks more promising now. Nice that the children all get on, fingers crossed it all works out well for you.
mioliere I'm with you on finding time, just get everything out and work out where I've got to and something happens so it has to be put away again.
My brother had a fall yesterday in the shower, more shaken than hurt but jarred his back, and was terrifed that he'd had another stroke, as his legs just gave way, but he's recovered pretty well now, and is due for the next lot of injections in his spine soon. The last lot worked thank goodness, so we're hoping the next ones will as well.
Love to everyone xxx0 -
kathy, and kinsey, i'm with you both, just where does the time go, its been a few days now since i picked up my needles, hoping to do some this afternoon when i go visit my mum and dad
kinsey, hope your brother is feeling less shaken this morning, and that the next lot of injections works for him
if anybody would like to help me out and knit a few items for a christmas craft stall, it would be much appreciated, i know a couple of you have asked aslready. the church christmas fair will be attended by mostly older people, so i'm looking for ideas myself what will appeal to them, also wont be able to charge a lot, as its quite a poor area where we live.
all monies raised is for a charity, called bethany healing centre, wakefield, they do have a website if anybody wants a look. bethany has given me a lot of support in the past and continues to do so to this current day, i owe my life to them, as i found them at the lowest point in my life, when i felt i couldnt continue. i want to give something back
hope everyone has a nice day

Hi everyone - I did a lot of charity knitting last year when I had my bad back (and couldn't do anything else!) its been a while now and decided to get my knitting needles back out again.
I found an easy pattern for baby bunting (just garter stitch) but the pattern shows it being lined with fleece and ribbons added. Are there any charities out there who would just accept the knitted outer?Kondo'ed 76 items from wardrobe, 4 carrier bags of books0 -
hello soon2bjobless, and welcome to the thread.
shelley at preemies.co.uk, acccepts buntings that arnt lined

KInsey - I hope your brother is recovering from his fall. As the last lot of injections worked well, I'm sure the next lot will. Good luck to him.
Soon2bejobless - welcome back! Hope your back is better. I haven't lined any buntings that I've made. I think just knitted or crocheted is find, wherever you send them.
Well, I've just popped to the shops and managed to find some plastic bodkins (old-fashioned word for sewing-up needles for knitting and crochet!). I've never tried them before; I've always used the steel ones. They were €1.99 for four - I will try them out later and report back!

Hi Everyone :hello:
Sorry you all missed the Pizza on Saturday it was scrumptious pepperoni my favourite yummmm
Chalky - have PM'd you, we are really looking forward to Thursday:j
Kathy - I can understand why you are reluctant to open such a lovely gift, I would'nt either. Did you get the bacon and sausage yet?
Kinsey - ouch!! I hope he is feeling a bit steadier today, it shakes the whole system up a fall like that
shaz - I will happily do a few things for you,I do have a few furry scarves done you are welcome to those if you would like them, I have also started doing some wrist warmers, I know older people like them as they are easy to get on and off, and they would be inexpensive too.
:wave:soon2bjobless - unlined buntings are fine for Shelley
PTB/Blackcrow - glad you enjoyed your holiday. Good news about your Dad Blackcrow
f1 - hope you feel better soon sinus problems are awful. Did you go to the Doctors?
I did a small blanket for ISOM and the cat/kittens over the last few days, quite enjoyed it as I did all squares and did'nt really have to think about it much(I needed to switch my brain off over the weekend)
Off to make a :coffee:
Back later
Anne
